Green, Murray and transubstantiation

1011

You couldn’t script that lot.  Charles-this is probably the worst Rangers team you have ever seen-Green is back, like a dose of something you never wanted first time around, appointed late on the day Rangers International receive a request for an Emergency General Meeting from rebel (hmm) shareholders.  The reason given to the Stock Market for his appointment was nothing to do with the EGM request, so don’t go implying it was a reactionary panic measure.

And who is behind the EGM request?  None other than Paul Murray, one of the few responsible for ensuring that Rangers FC (in liquidation) ran their affairs in good order.  His credentials for the position of Ibrox powerbroker are impeccable.

Before the news of the EGM was released, the Herald suggested, “Some informed sources believe the club will run out of money during this season”, as the Celtic online community has been asserting since their interims were published.

And yes, you noticed the transubstantiation from club to company.  I think it goes:

A club will run out of money.
A company ran out of money.

Keep the league flag flying high.

  5. Just back from a thoroughly enjoyable game. Outwith poor finishing though Celtic played very well. Forrest on one wing and Boerrigter on the other is going to cause havoc in premiership defences.

Well done Stokesy, hopefully that’ll shut up the idiots in our support who were on his back from the start. Some people seem to need a boo-bhoy to make them feel good.

  6. Some of the football we played today was excellent. A couple of “Efe” moments that could have been punished. Their goal was a cracker. Walker blamed FF. I disagree. We could/should have scored 3 or 4. Derk looks very useful. I feel a good season coming on.

What a bonus from Forfar! Cmon the hoops. HH

Why is this still the lead article?

I went out just before the live updates one should have been posted. I just came back thinking maybe the match report one would be up by now, but ….?

    Did Forfar break the blog?

  8. Fast exit home from packed Gazebo with the ususal suspects, and beats the traffic in EuroChamps67’s stretch limo – great support for Celtic especially the irrespressible GB, who never ceased even when County took a shock lead.

Predictably RC then tried to hold what they had with everyone bar one,

behind the ball and Celtic set about finding a winning formula with some glimpses of football especially from Commons who threaded goal scoring chances, with no takers.

Boerigtter looked good until he fell on his knee and there was an air of disappointment when he left the field just after Anthony Stokes’s was on hand to tap in a well deserved equaliser.

Ross County are a well organised outfit very much in the Elfsborg mould, but the second half was a procession towards three Celtic points, with Ledley in for Kayal there was at least a threat of a goal from midfield.

Commons lost some composure as he tired, and should have scored, after fine work from Anthony Stokes who worked the channels relentlessly.James Forrest continued from Wednesday night, but is still trying to find a Celtic man, interspersed, with his unique brand of wing wizardry.

Sammerassless Celtic plugged away, and fresh Matthews for part time pro Lustig, livened up the proceedings on the right, but Tony Watt had that look of wanting to be anywhere else, but wide left for Celtic, and didn’t appreciate the thumping right back tackling with hi sback to goal.

Wiliie Collum couldn’t stay anonymous and had made his mind up no penalty for Celtic despite a routine award, for the neutral.

But Celtic, and lonely Stokes without a line holder, still found a hole in the wall and sent Celtic’s bewitching, hoards home happily.

  13. Evening all

Just in from match. Thought we played quite well in patches and with some luck ( and a competent ref) we would have won comfortably. Liked the look of big Derk and once he scored his long range equaliser AS played with lot more confidence. Worried that we started sluggishly and although he improved I remain to be convinced by Efe.

Strange goings on in Forfar I gather. Would have thought El Steakbake may well be going for a walk away soon. Mccoist is fairly obviously a red rotten manager and although he seems preferable to Charles Integrity Green it’s hard to feel sorry for him. Alright, impossible

  21. You’ve got to hand it to Steak Bake. Classic deflection from his own incompetence by having a go at Chuckles and blaming him for the defeat today.

  24. McCoist also believes Green has been blown away by the passion of the Light Blue legions.

He added: “Looking at it, I would have to say that Charles has been very, very pleasantly taken aback by the size and the support of the club.

“He came in and was honest enough to say he hadn’t been a Rangers fan, but I don’t think there’s any doubt now he’s as big a Rangers fan as there is going.

“There are a lot of reasons, but one of the major reasons is the faith the fan base have put in him.”
