Guidetti and Scepovic complete Celtic line-up

999

Things looked touch and go earlier today but Celtic pulled a late double swoop to sign John Guidetti on loan from Manchester City, and Stefan Scepovic on a four year deal from Sporting Gijon.  Guidetti has been a Celtic transfer rumour since his 20 goals in 23 games stint at Feyenoord as a teenager in 2011-12.  Now he’s on board, I’m holding out for news of Georgi Kinkladze.

Stefan Scepovic could have played his hand better over the last 24 hours; footballers are seldom accused of over-intellectualising their plans.  Late interest from La Liga looked to have dealt Celtic a body-blow, but he’s ours now, and I’m pleased we got someone who was wanted by Spanish scouts.

That’s us finished for the summer window.  Welcome to Celtic, John, Stefan.

A great summation, and not a fun prospect at all mate, but accurate.

Yes. Right next to the purveyor of Kwality donut confectionary.

Have sympathy with your view tho not so strident.

I do take comfort that VVD is still with us. I was certain anybid around £10m and he’d be gone. From apparent info from Holland Celtic had two such enquiries. In any event definitely a plus I’d say.

I’d have purchased Armstrong from DU straight after the SC Final even if we then loaned him back. Don’t get me started on letting Robertson get away!

So I hope our three front men are up for it and it is a relief (no offence to them) to get several of our no hopers out. A good combination of events.

Were better at centre defence with VVD there. If and its a big if, ML and AM can stay fit, defensively we could be robust.

An imperfect result but seemingly so much better than imagined three days ago!!!

  6. So long as transfer windows exist we will strung along by players and agents who wait to see if ‘something better ‘comes up.

We are a fall back for many of our targets and we have to be realistic…..

it is pointless saying ‘ we should have completed the business 2 months ago!’

    we know that ,

I am sure the board also knows that ,

but you can lead a horse to a contract but you cant make him sign until he wants to sign…

unless you make an offer he cant refuse …

Fingers crossed, buddy. The momentum seems to be all on the Yes side. I’m expecting some real MI5 type skullduggery in the final phase though. Any dirt on any Yes politician will be flung now…and if they can’t find any they’ll make it up.

Virgil will go in January. The club has until then to suss out who replaces him and get those deals done before he’s allowed to leave.

We’ve left a big hostage to fortune at left back but we might be lucky. (We’ll need to be.)

Scott will be back in the midfield soon. How we’ve missed him.

January could be massive. But you know what? We’ll now score goals, plenty of them, and that will mean bad days like Inverness will not happen as often.

  15. I will reserve my judgement on the 4 new players that have not seen playing. So far Craig Gordon and young Deneyar I am impressed with. Berget not at tal and I fear is another dud. I am also happy we have shifted Balde, Pukki ect. As I said in a earlier post Ronny must win the next four domestic games, 3 at home. I am still not happy Tim, but I am hopeful Celtic learn from the mistakes that have cost us a CL place.
