CELTIC are closing in on a deal for highly-rated Australian youngster Leo Mazis – as CQN reported back in November.

The 17-year-old midfielder impressed Brendan Rogers during a trial spell last year and is ready to be offered a long-term contract.

Mazis, who is expected to sign a three-year deal, plays for Belconnen United who compete in the National Premier League’s Capital Football.

He will team up with Aussie international playmaker Tom Rogic in the Parkhead squad.

It is likely he will be loaned out in the first year of his contract to gain expereince before returning to the champions.

Meanwhile Lewis Morgan has been photographed arriving at Ross Hall for his Celtic medical this morning which should all going well see the player sign this afternoon before being loaned back to St Mirren for the rest of the season.
