We have had games which were hugely important to the club, and to our new manager, some which were ‘must win’ games, which were ultimately lost, but tomorrow’s League Cup tie against Hearts is a must win game for different reasons.
A year ago we lost in this competition to one of the worst teams to win at Celtic Park in the last half century, possibly longer, but thus Hearts side are a Premiership team in all but name and come with the weight of their history behind them to fell Scottish football’s last superpower.
I’ve seen Hearts win at Celtic Park before, there is one particular painful memory as they taunted us while drawing, but Ronny and his new recruits should know, this game ranks above all league matches in order of importance.

Indeed he was.
I hope he did him proud, I really do. It was important to him that people understood the challenges JD faced.

Didn’t even know they had a game, just checked winning 2-1 must be the last 10 mins assuming it was 7:45 kick off
The BBC live text updates page from the League Cup games tonight is not working

Sevco must be struggling against Falkirk.
Is this the 21st century equivalent of them losing the 7-1 film?
Or is my opTIMism unfounded?
RED CARD
Dylan McGeouch (Hibernian)

You can always phone in …lose two hours of your life for feck all
Chris Torey 2109:-
You must think you are a big man, throwing insults about on a blog. I liked your failed attempt to spell socialist, no doubt a typo brought on because your fingers are tired from playing the banjo all day.
Blantyre, this Wolverhampton & Telford malarkey for mail getting opened and scanned, needs to be improved.
The good old days when people knew who they dealing with.
Common sense is in short supply.
Falkirk player through on goal, MIB brings play back for a foul to Falkirk………
Wait and see …..this new policy of the Scottish Parliament raising it’s own taxes, will result in us paying even more tax than we have been paying up until now …… be careful what you yearn for ……..
John, Divers, may your soul rest in peace.
Nice to hear so many good stories about him as a player, teacher and person.
PF
Unfortunately the guys on the phones no next to nothing about the legislation or the system. Had I any hair I would be pulling it out..

Aye. The good old days of Supp Ben.
Realised why I’m nervous about tomorrow’s match – I’ve no idea what the team will be -not sure if there was a period like this with lenny, there was for a bit with BTM and for a while with MON at the start – very unusual – I’m sure even RD knows getting a settled 11 and subs is priority.
Lee Tomlin is the best player on the pitch against Liverpool and we missed out on him.
BT
Emailed you.
Any word from the ticket office?

I’ve a a few turns out of guys spending hours on the phone …..getting no where

I usually phone the escalation numbers.
They had 2 boxes at the Labour party conf today. One had come back Gordon Brown and Dont come back G B on them. You were offered a red ball and asked to put it in the box of your choice. The poor guy offered Dennis Skinner a ball. Dennis didnt half tell him what to with it.
Kinda like Dennis me does.
Ps The come back Gordon box had the most balls in it btw

Johnny Divers.
Requiescat in pace.
Along with big John Colrain,Johnny D was the favourite of myself and my contemps.,as Cyrenean says, during that barren Celtic period post `57,pre-Jock.
Big Jim (the president) Kennedy,Dunky McKay,big Frank Haffey,Matt McVitie,Bobby Carroll Paddy Turner,John McNamee ,who was converted to centre forward and scored against the scabby necks.
A rare évent in those days.
The team was unsuccessful in terms of trophies, but there was some beautiful interplay amongst the forwards…Wee flicks, back heelers and various other tricks, perhaps stimulated by the Brazil `62 team which also gave us Celtic cha cha cha.
Loved them all.
On behalf of all your fans in oor wee schill, thanks Johnny D.
Home boys,home.
Blantyre, from what I’ve been told the contact centres are not the most pleasant of places to work.
It’s all about numbers all over at the moment.
I’ve been told when you see comes in, staffing will be reduced considerably and there will be very little face to face contact in the future, allegedly.
pfayr-Houston won’t want to put his Shortbread shifts in jeopardy

an honest mistake of course ( :

Many thanks and HH
Recall one night Celtic played Clyde at Shawfield and won 4-2 I think. Divers was brill.
Dont know if it was the night the wall collapsed.
Bada bing
It was a tad tongue in cheek
Houston is an establishment sycophant…..

Your godfather seemed like a great guy. By some posts on here he was also very supportive of your dad when he was coming through the ranks.
Rip John Divers.
Must admit they are damn decent at Liverpool, guy just announced that car reg XYZ was about to be wheeled away! So go and move it.
By comparison saw two cars on London Rd getting lifted on Saturday.
Serious terrorist related incident unfolding in Melbourne.
18 year old shot dead, two police officers stabbed, one in serious condition.
It was only a matter of time.
Wiki says J D was born in Clydebank
Jude
I think the wall collapse was an afternoon game.
Almost sure it was a cup game you are referring to.
Magical night.Packed in like sardines we were.
On tiptoes.
