Ibrahim chance to reboot potential at Celtic

493

Celtic have completed the signing of 20-year-old Nigerian, Rabiu Ibrahim subject to a medical, after he was released by PSV Eindhoven earlier this month.   Rabiu is known as a creative-central midfielder, a role that Celtic have played possibly as few as a dozen times in the last decade.

After leaving Nigeria full of promise as a 17-year-old the player failed to make the desired impact in Portugal and the Netherlands, but will still be regarded as a development project by the Celtic technical staff.  His short history in Europe, with tales of agents and representation investors already has enough material for a short novel, which will not have aided development.

The job for Celtic is to get Rabiu plugged back into his potential.  It remains to be seen what role he is deployed in when he gets the chance.

Welcome to Celtic, Rabiu.

  1. I like the look of this talented Nigerian guy.

He is small but he well may become a giant in the Hoops.

    Welcome to Paradise, Rabiu Ibrahim.

    Just play good, son.

  2. When these young players arrive at Celtic, do we have people looking after their emotional wellbeing?

Do we have people who know, just know about people, looking after them?

    I know that Neil knows.

    But he can’t be everywhere.

    Hi guys

Before you read what I’m about to say, I just want to say I’m not preaching; I’m only saying how I feel at the moment.

I just found out my step-father’s cancer is terminal, and to say it is a shock is, well, an understatement.

He is a Rangers fan – a good Rangers fan who loves his club, and you’ll struggle to meet a nicer man. The thought of him possibly losing his club on top of everything, to me, seems so cruel.

I’m not calling for us to fund-raise for their survival. I’m just saying this because right now football means very little. And if Rangers are to win the league, no matter how much I despise the history and culture at that club, I’d be happy that it will give him some joy.

Buddy, I share your pain. It’s a horrible disease that affects everyone. I understand your sentiments, anything less, would not be Celtic. I, honestly can’t wish any good things on Rangers but I can assure you, my thoughts are with you buddy.

Stay strong for your wife, she will need you.

    Hail Hail

Sorry, just realised you wrote step father. I won’t question what he means to you, it’s evident in your post. Your wife will be with you. It will be Ok. Get my email from Paul if you need to talk.

    HH buddy

  5. We are lovers, or haters.

    And that’s about it.

I remember years ago when I worked in a petrol station a wee, slightly strange, middle aged guy would come in every day.

He would buy a paper slightly nervously, maybe say a couple of words, then shuffle off.

Eventually, like we all do, he began to talk about the thing he loved.

    The Glasgow Rangers.

I could see the love in his eyes, and, like a true romantic, wanted him to feel good so mirrored the emotion.

A kinda odd situation, and I began to fear he would be in when others were about and learn I was a Celtic fan.

    Well, he never did.

    And I’m glad about that.

His love of Rangers was a pure thing.

  6. Google ESSIAC

    Google Dr. Gary Glum

Cancer is a major scurge in the world, trust me this stuff will help.

Do NOT believe that it won’t help you, it will.

I have first hand experiance that it works, my Ma was given 3 months tops, she lived for 4 years, and whenshe did go she died pain free.

    Check it out.

was listening to some Gerry Rafferty songs there and these words jumped out at me and i just felt they were so apt for their current predicament

    great song by the way

We live at home in the garden of England

They got us on the run, we can feel it in the air

We got it made in the garden of England

Where we celebrate the English way of life.

They had an empire, they give it all away

Their finest hour seems only yesterday

They still remember when Britannia ruled the waves

She ruled the waves, she ruled the waves (yeah)

    Yeah the simple life.

    Hail Hail

  8. BRTH and James Forrest write brilliantly what most of us feel. If you gave that to an Orc regarding Rangers he would look at you sideways. I tend to give them facts and soundbites. To the old refrain–“refs decisions level themselves out”– I point to the fact that Utube does not have a compilation of referee decisions going against them. On the other hand—?. When Celtic were at their nadir the fans rallied. When Minty set out a share option—He paid the vast majority himself. At the moment, if the positions were reversed, Celtic men would be piling in to rescue their club. Why has their been no clarion call to the Orc supporters to do something? It’s obvious. Such a call would be futile and they know it. As a retired teacher I just wonder what the hell they were taught at school. It certainly wasn’t sportsmanship or logical thinking.

  9. the wee guy in the big kilt who ran on to the park to celebrate the winning goal with big Billy and the team

    haha

and the polis guy who came on to drag him off

“am sorry, sir, ye jist cant be doing that” (in portuguese, of course)

    haha, brilliant !

  10. whitedoghunch

the finest, big chap, truly the finest

even today i let out a yell of joy

    am sure you do too
