Ice cream, jelly and our profane enemies

280

Trips to Inverness and Aberdeen offer the Celtic support travelling from the west of Scotland ample opportunity for the odd libation at early lunch stops along the way.  As a result, recent seasons have seen enemies of our club set their recorders to capture every utterance from the famous Celtic away support, keen to grab an opportunity to expose and exploit anything which could possibility cause offence.  These people are a bit like the National Viewers’ and Listeners Association, but with tattoos and a more libertarian take on profanity.

The ice cream and jelly show these guardians of public morals had to endure on Saturday would have caused ultimate distress.  Ultimate, that was, until Sunday brought a new level of consciousness.  And profanity.

It’s almost like everything is coming together for one side of the city while the other side is being Flushed Away.  Like a horrible wee jobby.

Yesterday may have been the most enjoyable day I’ve had reading Celtic Quick News.  As a result, I used the ‘share’ button at the bottom of each comment extensively.  If you are on Facebook or Twitter you can use this button to post your own comment, in context, to your social media facilities.

You can also use it to share, or give prominence to, any comment you think important enough for a wider audience, or simply because it is too funny not to share.  There is a lot of great material on here that deserves to be read as widely as possible.

By default, the share facility places the article title in the text box, which is not very helpful.  So if you use it (which I hope you do after the trouble Andrew in Belfast went to installing it in the first place), it’s a good idea to copy some of the comment and past that into the dialogue box.

    At last the blog descends to a level I am comfortable with. I would disagree about the size of said jobby though. I think of of it more as a massive pan breaker. Fortunately it’s back has been broken with a big mallet which should see it safely flushed away with no bog blowback.

    Kojo All young players need a rest from competitive matches now and then to re charge there batteries and in fact I would say the evidence is there to see on the playing field big Victor67 hasnt been quite as good in his last two matches and good do with a rest for a couple of games.We have a big squad of players at Celtic and Lennie uses them wisely 15 straight wins should be ample proof of that to anyone.H.H.

    Perhaps others would see young Forrest’s omission as a clever tactical move.

    Can you remember the final score????

    Awe_Naw_No_Annoni_Oan_Anaw_Noo – Nobody will buy that one, since they know Blatter cannot be killed unless Darth Vader throws him into the reactor shaft of a Death Star. (thumbsup)

    voguepunter, oglach – Regurgitating black legends about the Borgias doesn’t excuse Ubisoft.

    It’s like making a game based on The Protocols Of The Learned Elders Of Zion.

    Also, I’m pretty sure that even the worst Borgias didn’t murder a whole bunch of innocent people in the middle of Mass, as the Assassins Creed game depicts in the setup to excuse making you kill the Pope.

    And as I said before, the Pope-killing isn’t an isolated incident of anti-Catholicism in the game, far from it in fact. (thumbsup)

    Now I haven’t had a pint in the Horseshoe in years– and I used to go in regularly. Mind you I used to go to loadsa pubs regularly lol.

    Just give me a shout whenever that may be.

    Can I point out that I understand that Celtic management and players have made a donation to the fund which will not be seen on the Just Giving page

    and which is likely to be in addition to the total that is seen there.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    The Horseshoe is still,IMO,the best pub in the town to have a beer in with friends and aqcuaintances. No trying to figure out what team the fella next to you supports,or avoiding it for the same reason.
    I’ve never had anything more than a discussion about my team and someone elses in there. Not an argument,nor a disagreement,it simply isn’t that kind of pub.
    Of course.sometimes those discussions can be heated without being ugly,but always with deference to the point in question.
    In other words,a pleasant experience every time-apart from the time a bus jumped over me as I staggered out on the way to the Nottingham Forest game in 83.
    The pitches here are awful at the moment. Inverness was no exception on Saturday. I’ve mentioned many times on here previously that James was in danger of being overplayed. Neil is doing the right thing at the moment – using JF sparingly. Young players can suffer burnout if used to much while they are still developing. Fergie burned out an entire Aberdeen team of youngsters. James needs a rest and when the pitches improve he can be thrust back into the side to win us the League!
    A telling comment from the Ibrox BBC commentary was that ‘McKay-Stevens has now got a number of Rangers players booked’!!! This was just after Bartley had bodychecked him 3 yards from the ref. See what he did there? I always thought you got yourself booked! On a seperate occassion the commentator says something like ‘…his (McK-S) pace is causing a lot of fouls’!
  22. Philvis – in the game, and I have played them all love the series, there is not a great deal made of the catholic side of it. It is Templar vs Assassin. The Catholic religion is not a part of the plot at all. The first one in fact has the crusades as the backdrop. It is all new world order stuff that is pitched a level above organised religion.
    The story really is rather good, you are looking at it in very narrow, simplistic terms my good man.
    I don’t know what’s in Lenny’s mind when he picks the team, only he can answer why Stokes didn’t start, why JF didn’t start or, if he can’t see past Brown (3 goals in the last three victories).
    I believe Neil Lennon is managing the resources he has very well. I picked a significantly different team myself for Saturday (as did everyone on here I think), but the team Neil picked neutered ICT completely. Butcher was fuming with his team but the truth is we never let them play.
    We do have a large squad and we have had many injuries. Therefore the team has changed in every game which is a challenge regarding the organisation and shape of the side. We are wining the games – yes many of them are 1-0, 2-1 but that is what winning teams do, despite the facile fallacy that somehow we have a right to win every game 5-0.
    Also, we have a young squad, and as was shown by Matthews, 67, Forrest, young players will have poor games on occasion. Matthews came back and played well on Saturday after a wee rest. I’m sure James will do likewise.
    Btw, Forrest was born 07/07/91.
