Illegal EBTs and Sporting Advantage question remains

633

Sir David Murray, Campbell Ogilvie, Dave King, as directors of a football club, you presided over tax evasion. While ordinary men and women have no choice, or criminal urge, to avoid paying for public services, you directed a deception on an industrial scale.

Sir David Murray and Campbell Ogilvie have their influence and signatures all over this act. The SFA was quick to discipline and sine die Craig Whyte after he was out of the game, it must now charge Murray and Ogilvie with bringing the game into disrepute. The stale influence of cronyism at Hampden must be routed and seen to be so.

The SPFL instructed an inquiry three years ago but with this verdict in, the SFA must appoint their own inquiry.

Why did the processes at Hampden allow this to happen and continue without check?

Why did Rangers get their European licence in 2011 despite being in arrears to HMRC, in contravention of that licence?  Who was responsible for this decision?

Why was a director and signatory of Rangers illegal tax schemes elected and reappointed president of the SFA?

How transparent were the SFA and the SPL in their handling of these tax evasion charges?

Was the SPL inquiry commissioned to uncover the facts, or to meet a desired objective?  Who prepared the inquiry remit and who signed off on that remit?

Lord Nimmo Smith found that legally executed Employee Benefit Trusts did not confer a significant sporting advantage.  In light of what I have already read of the verdict, we must now discover if such widespread illegal Employee Benefit Trusts conferred a sporting advantage.  This question has not been asked yet.

It’s time for football to shake off the shackles of corruption in Scotland, as elsewhere.

I hope Murray is jailed for destroying an Excellent Footballing Country that would live within its means.

The SFA can’t survive, this isn’t about Celtic getting Trophies, it is about Every Club in the Country cheated out of Trophies and existence in some cases.

    Awe Naw

The decision today opens up a whole host of things and undoubtedly assists with the general thrust behind Res 12 and may open up further avenues.

    But……

Res 12 has been refined, defined and narrowed down to one or two absolutely arrow like points for certain people to answer. It is far more direct and focused than when it wa brought before the original AGM.

I had a long discussion about it yesterday with Celtic and we have agreed to resume our discussions on Friday.

For some time Celtic have been taking the point directly to the SFA however we have also been going to them directly through the lawyers.

They are twisting and turning, squirming and wriggling in an attempt not to answer a question or two and they now have stated openly they prefer to answer Celtic rather than us as they see answering us as opening a whole can of worms.

Celtic want them to answer us – and know they can’t stop us getting direct access to Hampden.

Today may well be a game changer but all it has done is put fuel in the Res 12 Rocket — it does mean that it will change direction or lose its pinpoint accuracy.

  16. Our club and every other club that was cheated should be setting there sights on Scottish football HQ . They knew all along what they were up to . The SFA kept that mob alive . While turning a blind eye to the cheating . And every fan of every club that was cheated , should be pressing there club to make sure justice is served on the Blazers . Then we should all set our sights on the judgement of the honourable LNS . And get his decision looked into again . After all . The result from his sham of an enquiry , was used time and time again to give them credence . And thrust down our throats

  17. Really agree with all the points made. Unfortunately we are in a country where corruption in football (a bit like FIFA) is rooted at the very top. The ones who should be stewarding our game are the ones who have been party to it or allowed it to happen by turning a blind eye.

So I would not hold me breath waiting for anything of substance to happen.
