Intelligent play, Directors’ box hospitality competition

377

Champions League match day six was a dead rubber, I wasn’t at the game only watched on TV, but two days on I’m still full of the emotional thrill of the occasion.  With that in mind, the thought that today will be the players final training session before a league game tomorrow illustrates the challenge for Brendan Rodgers.

The players put everything into the game in Manchester, they were visibly flagging near the end.  They will also have shared the high of the occasion.  Bringing that all together to face a team who have been planning nothing but how to frustrate a potentially lethargic and distracted Celtic for a week and you have a game punters would generally avoid backing the favourites in.

News that James Forrest’s hamstring isn’t causing too much concern is welcome.  We’ve all been there.  You feel the twinge but it’s not enough to stop you, so you carry on.  James has more experience of injury than most footballers, as a consequence it looks like he left the field before a “tightness” became an injury.  He was a loss to the game but rather that than a loss to the season.  This counts as very intelligent play.

I’d be reluctant to press James into action tomorrow, especially as it gives Gary Mackay-Steven an opportunity to revisit Firhill, where he scored 37 seconds into his Celtic debut.

Directors’ Box hospitality auction ending soon!

At around 12:18 this afternoon our Directors’ Box hospitality auction in aid or Mary’s Meals, courtesy of Intelligent Car Leasing ends.  Money raised will go towards our seventh school kitchen across Malawi and Liberia – just incredible.

At the Celtic-Dundee game on 17 December, you can win:

2 seats in the directors’ box

Champagne reception
5 course meal in the Walfrid Suite
Fully expenses bar (pre and post-match)
Half time snacks and refreshments
Car Parking
And a match programme

This is a genuine experience of a lifetime, which you can bid for here on ebay – for another few minutes only.

Many thanks to Intelligent Car Leasing for making it possible.

I am still raging. I gave a very short response to your worrying post due to work commitments. Your post deserved a more through reply and discussion.

I cannot imagine the anguish of losing a much loved dog in his circumstances. It must be horrendous.A life changing experience.

But forgetting this aspect for a nano second, this poor man has fallen through a safety net riddled with holes. No matter whose fault this is, it is simply unacceptable.

We know the Westminster government, and we know its uncaring agenda. But the Scottish government must share the blame. I know its unfashionable to criticise the SNP government, but that too is changing. Put simply, they are failing and are being found out.

They have the power NOW to make discretionary payments and assistance to the most vulnerable sections in our society and from the 1st of April next year the whole welfare show will be down to them.

Our councils are suffering and the level of service they provide is being erroded. Our austerity is compounded by 3.5% – 5.6% cuts to our council budgets, a continued council tax freeze and no change to our income tax.

Given all these circumstances its no wonder the poorest and most needy in our midsts are suffering.

And can you believe we have a Scottish government underspend once more.

But regardless, our councils must also share the blame. Priorities must be clearly defined and actioned. Even if its to the detriment of other services.

I really do not care about petty arguements about who will provide the best care for our most deserving. It matters not a jot to the poor man . Brexit no Brexit, Left, Right. Independence, no independence.

I reitterate , it shames us, it shames our country and many individuals and departments should hang their heads in shame and be held accountable.

Sadly its not an isolated case. Something we should all contemplate when we are munching into our Christmas dinners in the near future.

    Still sickened.

    Hail, Hail.

  3. Good morning friends and a Big Happy FRiday from a rather damp and dreich East Kilbride. Another night of fine entertainment lies ahead.

  4. Tricky times ahead for the Cellic without the Celticness player of Brendan’s team – James Forrest…imho.

Charlie Nicholas was correct in his observations about Brendan not fancying Patrick Roberts although, PR’s goal the other night will have done him a world of good even if, as Roy Keane says the Man City defending was terrible and was symbolic of them not taking the game serious enough….imho.

Anyway,….Cellic fans still need tae draaap the Provo-song-Book….imho.

Don’t start awe the….”The songs unrny illegal!”…patter,…..joost draaaap the songs….be cute….don’t let the establishment lay a glove on yeez…be cute….if yeez want tae get all uppitty and confrontational then, confront the Cellic PLC who sold yeez out….

    Shame Game….Sold oot

    LNS Trophy Stripping Whitewash….Sold oot

Huns allowed into Div 3 without paying back a penny…..Sold oot

Dallas allowed to walk out the door without even a glove being laid on him despite being caught lying on national radio about the “Dougie-Dougie” cheating of Neil Lennon and, his email muck….the Juventus last 16 ref’s performance had Dallas’s fingerprints allover it, the latest Nor Iron bloke who has stuck in the Cellic fans in Manchester is straight out of the, Eddie Smith mib / cop who grassed up Cellic fans at a /euro game at Celtic Park he said he heard sectarian songs etc….Dallas’s fingerprints again…all done under the watch of the dithering-look-the-other-way Cellic PLC who, if yeez are honest with yerselve’s….you must realize that the back of the West of Scotland bus is as good as it will get.

Why does Brendan not call out the mibbery….?

Why don’t Cellic PLC empty BBC Scotland and, I don’t mean in the PLC’ usual p#shy way by sending a letter of complaint to some obscure complaints commission….fight fire with fire….call them out at the next media brief…shoot them down ‘live’ on the tv….no more dancing with shadows….how many of our enemies would be queuing up to kick us if….a Jeanette Findlay Cellic Board was in office at Cellic Park ?

I would guess that, if JF and her ilk were in control of the Cellic…we’d already be out of Scotland and, I don’t mean any disrespect to all those Celts who like Scotland the country….imho….Scotland the country is a shyte hole and, the majority of the anti-Cellic population in the shyte hole of a country are, lower than scum…always have been, always will be…Ernie Lynch is correct, Scotland is a country that was – is – always will be, structured to be….

    anti – catholic…

    anti – Celtic…

    anti – Irish….

NEGANON2….The Jungle cradles you in it’s arms.

Any Cellic supporter who dizny realize that, Cellic FC is the underdog-most-hated-club in this country, most have fallen oot of a space ship…last night.

The way that Scotland is set up, suited Mr Stein….he joost put a Cellic team oan the pitch that,….1st of all….was feart fae naebdy!!!!

Then his team was ‘managed’ into a dream hunskelping team coz, that is all that there is too it…

Put a Cellic team oan the pitch that will stick it right up the Scottish establishment…simples.

Remember,….nay Provo-Song-Book….the establishment canny handle – CELLIC – as, TD67 would say, just go oot and GIRFUT….simple as that.

Oh but,……don’t be falling into this playing football – The Celtic Way – mindset-trap….

Dae whit ye need tae, even if it means, parking the bus and being ugly….joost get the job done,…Brendan knows the score….it’s the soul-selling-chameleons on the PLC above Brendan…that need watched.

Green & White hooped flags on every seat inside Cellic Park, apart from the visiting seats….will get it right up the Cellic-hating-establishment so,….that’s whit ye dae….ok.

Belated Hoopy Birthday to MWD and CRC…hope yer days were grand HH

PETEC know’s the script….he wrote it….aye he did.

    Sorry I missed your replies.

I have a great affection for Kris who was one of our stars when things weren`t as good for us as they are now.

I feel I understood his apparent frustration with Ronny.

    A frustration I shared.

I particularly loved his goals against ” them. ”

I feel Lenny may well provide a friendly position for him to fill .

I wish them both ( should he sign ) success with Hibs.

I agree that the anti-Irish (Catholic) sentiment in Scotland was far greater but England was no Utopia for the Irish immigrant.’

What I said was that Irish immigrants were more readily assimilated by the host population in England than in Scotland. End of. You appear to accept that point, so why argue?

    ##

This theme arose because I responded to someone who asked, in relation to the Rebs being sung at the Man City game, why no English clubs had fans singing such songs, given that in certain areas of England there were just as many Irish immigrants as Scotland.

    Does that answer your question?

The child sexual abuse scandals that are rife across the UK should not only be looked at on a case by case basis. When MI5, Westminster, Royalty, The Police, Armed Forces, The British elite and aristocracy are by default completely protected from this vile behaviour then you cannot expect anything further down the ladder to be fully effective. You also have to come to the conclusion that due to these continued cover ups that only lip service will ever be paid to the victims.
