Juxtaposition of Keane with wannabes elsewhere

Worst Rangers [sic]team in history?

Worst Rangers [sic]chief executive in history?
Check.

Worst Rangers [sic]fans in history?
Oh, please.  They have played their part to perfection.

Worst Rangers [sic]manager in history?
Who, Ally the Great Enabler?  No way.

Charles Green would not have any authority at Ibrox if Ally McCoist didn’t act as his enabler last year.  While every Celtic fan with a keyboard was typing “Can they really be so stupid again?” Ally was cutting a deal for almost 5% of the share capital of the company [sic].  None of this would be possible without Ally.  If you see him, buy him a pie.

The juxtaposition was pointed out to me:

19 years after John Keane stepped forward with an amount of money very precious to him..

With no guarantee it would solve our problems…

Or that he would see a penny of it again (for the record, he hasn’t, and he is unlikely to)…

A very different history played out across the city.

Today’s Herald told us the group trying to overthrow the Sevco board contains Jim McColl and that, “McColl is one of Scotland’s richest people, but he won’t spend his own money”.

The world is full of rich men who will not spend their own money.  Long may they squabble over the Ibrox debris.

Our honorary chairman, John Keane, waved to the Celtic Park crowd before letting the league flag fly high, a direct consequence of putting his money where his mouth was.

    Jimbo,

I was at that game and remember it well.Lennox swivelled in the box and fired it home.As you say utter mayhem.

  2. Dun na nGall getting hammered by Maigh Eo in Croke Park. Manager Jimmy McGuinness must regret his rant after last week’s match with Laois. His comments and those of his assistant about a Mayo conspiracy have served to fire up the men of the West. They lead by 12 points at half time. So much for sports psychology!

It’ll be long road to Letterkenny tonight.

Loving all this nostalgia ………but truth be told

our greatest ever manager and team should

have won at least 2 big cup’s…….at very least!!!

And the Huns lost their ‘easy’ last game and so we won without having to kick a ball. Best Days Of Our Lives

not forgetting how well mayo have played

  7. Sevcomedians are a great turn when they’ve had a smoke:

“This is the hard times, we are building up the quality of the squad, and we are re-establishing ourselves as a financial force again. Rangers have winner written all over them but we are in the build up period. The money men know this and want to be in at the start of something big. Think of it this way; if Rangers were a lost cause the money men would be running away from it, but they are fighting tooth and nail to be part of it, every dirty and underhand trick appears to be being used to get on that board because this club equals money, winners, power and prestige for those in the board when Rangers come back with a vengeance. They know that is only a matter of time.”

    ——

“We had our third division team playing a team above their level.”

    ——

“The league cup is no more than a side show as far as Rangers current situation is concerned. Even when we were at the top it wasn’t a priority.”

That is true. I may have never forgotten the horrors of losing to Milan in 69 and Feyenoord in 70 ( and have only just learned to live with them) but I never even needed to forgive.

    Jimbo,

Great stuff bud.Another name I wont forget is Ally Mitchell who netted the winner against them in injury time for Kilmarnock and helped us immensely.

    ——————-

Add to the list was it Chris Porter who scored for Motherwell against deadco in a 1-1 draw that put the league back in our hands.

I had just discovered CQN and Paul67 kept pointing out their record in away games ,

and that the league was not over ,and that day it happened,I was walking the streets wae my wee dug too nervous to listen to their game , I can picture the moment where I was standing and how i felt (Ecstatic)when the text came through that they had dropped points which eventually led to helicopter thursday .

IIRC Paul67 was sitting on the stair in the house and Mrs67 relayed the news from his brother :))

This has been my favourite celtic sight since

  13. I think Jimmy McGuinness will be back in Glasgow sooner than expected. An absolute rout in Croke Park. 4-12 to 0-4.

I was in Singapore in May 2008 when i got the text from my mum ( and subsequently from Jac, my sister, my nephew and the three guys I went to the games with) that we were now ahead in the League. I was in a swanky bar talking to a barmaid about something to do with my family and my cover as some sort of suave sophisticated traveller was well and truly blown as I bellowed ‘the Huns have only drawn’. And I was home for Helicopter Thursday!

  16. The guy Swankie who scored both goals for Forfar yesterday is some man.

Apparently he is a janny in a local primary school.

When his janitorial duties are finished, he removes his overalls and puts on his fluorescent yellow jacket and is transformed into a lollipop man at the same school.

    Well played!

    charles kickham,

Yer user name is the name of a great GAA club in Ardoyne in Belfast.

    What a watering hole!

  18. houl yer wheest,

I don’t think the pre match comments have any relevence on today’s performances.

All season Donegal have been unable to reach anything like the level the were at last year.

Mayo were knocking at the door for a few years.

Donegal have reverted to type, in luding Mc.Ghee’s petulant red card.

As a county, Donegal don’t have the football infrastructure of other counties, to sustain an era of supremacy.

Possibly, it makes last year’s effort all the more commendable.

Good luck to mayo, I hope they go all the way.

    They deserve to.
