Reports out of Ireland that Roy Keane is no longer in the running for the Celtic job are correct. The former Sunderland and Ipswich boss asked not to be considered as Celtic have tightened their shortlist over the past few days.
The overwhelming majority of opinion on the blog and elsewhere is that Celtic would be taking an enormous risk with Roy Keane, feedback which I know has reached the club. These decision are all risky, and there are no guarantees we will be able to do better than Roy, but I’d be prepared to take that risk.

It smacked of our exceedingly rich Irish owners getting their man pushed in front of the beauty pageant. One thing this has done is rung out supporter intransigence. Much the same as when David O’Leary was touted.

When your expended bank account is about to be depleted further by Celtic in nine days, and you have a board that have previous, and look hell bent on ‘chatting informally’ with EPL flops, I reserve the right to my default position.
That included Roy’s rotten record, and the fact that he was the calibre of what Celtic think is necessary, at this point in time.
All we ask for is ambition and if the shortlist is to be believed then you’ll grow tired of Celtic fans and their position, until the next appointment is made. The problem at Celtic is the decision makers, need changing and not the next functionary © TBB.
