Keep Kyogo out of the squad

730

It is five weeks since Kyogo Furuhashi pulled up with a hamstring injury.  Almost four weeks since he returned for the League Cup Final and nearly three weeks since the recurrence of his injury forced an early exit against St Johnstone.

You and I have been watching football long enough to know that from the off, we are told players will need three weeks to recover from even a mild hamstring strain.  Kyogo may well be superhuman, but he has not been permitted this recovery period.

A return against Hibs on Monday looks foolhardy, I would also be reluctant to play him against Alloa the following weekend.  The Hearts game at Tynecastle on 26 January is exactly a month after his last outing, that should be his target.

  1. Big Jimmy, when circumstances allow, I’ll drive you down to meet my good friend Scaniel and his wonderful collection of animals.

I am not sure if my Facebook page is up to date. Has there been any change to the 4pm Arbroath Emerald departure time?

Going to golf now so I will check later for any response.

    Thanks

Nobody apart from you cares about your politics, give us a break huh?

The now largely msm Celtic News Now is full of negative stories on us today, it’s almost as if they look for it- Suprise Suprise. They like to try and upset our supporters.

Suggest you avoid and look forward to what promises to be a open match with good football at the forefront.

  4. Hot Smoked,

Got a feeling Jack O’Makis may start with Maeda operating left..

I also think Hatate will slot into Turnbull’s place as an all action number 8, alongside Rogic and McGregor.

Big shocks for me would be Julien and even Jota given he’s only just back training…seems Kyogo is longer than hoped.

Taylor at LB and Juranovic at RB…..

More first teamers available, more quality on the bench and hopefully a hammering for the Hibees.

    Hhmm.

So a so-called Celtic website publishes negative comments about our highly esteemed manager made by a journalist currently banned from Celtic’s premises

(A ban for deliberately lying BTW).

This journalist is a well known Sevco supporter and, among Celtic fans, is widely thought to be a complete idiot.

To add further insult, a so-called Celtic supporter then posts a link to this stuff on ANOTHER Celtic blog?

It would be better to just ban them from any dialogue.

Contracts would be an issue I guess.

The fans would rally round the club if we had a powerful figure, a statesman, who could dismiss the media for the fakes that they are.

But ban them when we are in a powerful position, but do it with class, not cheap snidey stuff, like after clinching another league.

  11. Am I right in saying there have been no photos yet of Kyogo back training? I doubt we will see him back for a few weeks yet. Ange has made very few mistakes, but playing an injured Kyogo was his biggest one.

Thankfully, with Maeda, we have signed another top player that can slot straight in.

  12. Let’s be careful about the ‘slotting back in’ phrase. Maeda, as Ange points out, is a very different player than Kyogo – quicker but less technical, so I’d expect a slightly different feel to the team without our talisman.

We also need more goals from others in the team to put teams away (practising free kicks over the break should have been high on the to-do list).

  13. Maloney said he knows the coaches at Celtic, he said Strachan does set pieces and Kennedy writes and delivers the sessions, a wee concern I have is Maloney is able to read what we do and has had time to come up with a game plan to defeat us. I personally think we have too much for them have had rest , training have new players and some returning from injury

Good luck to the Celts tonight, happy to be heading there.

I’m comfortable with the players we have available in all areas except centre forward. Been that way for three years now, since Moussa left.

Trying to win 10 last season, the four we had comprised one who didn’t want to play for us and three who couldn’t run.

This first half season has been the Kyogo show, he’s injured for now. Ajeti still can’t run. We hope GG has some quality and that Maeda is our Christmas present from Ange. Abada showed willing in December.

FRED, I appreciate your kind offer and SCANIEL himself has offered to pick me up in Glasgow and drive me down and back ?

However, as I have advised SCANIEL, in recent years due to my health etc, I am NOT a good traveller on Buses or Cars for any long distance, and that is why I have advised SCANIEL that I would be okay in travelling by TRAIN, as there are TOILETS on Trains. If I travelled by Train, I would be happy for Scaniel or possibly yourself to pick me up at the Train Station, and drop me off at the Station for my return journey to Glasgow if possible ?

I love most animals, with exceptions to Reptiles and Insects.

  24. As the heat grows on Boris Johnson over a string of No10 lockdown parties the cowardly PM looks set to shift the blame away from himself in a desperate bid to save his own skin.

Rather than accept any responsibility for the scandal engulfing Downing Street, he is instead likely to throw a bunch of civil service flunkies under the bus, who could now face the axe.

But it comes as the Mirror can reveal Mr Johnson attended a leaving do for his defence adviser in the run-up to Christmas 2020 and gave a speech.

And fresh doubts were raised on the PM’s claim he did not know in advance about the No10 garden bash on May 20 of that year after Sunday Times columnist Dominic Lawson claimed at least two people had warned him the email invite to staff made it clear it was a party and it should have been stopped.

If true, it blows his half-hearted apology for Partygate last week out of the water and means he faces claims he breached the ministerial code by misleading the Commons.

To add further pressure on Mr Johnson, his wife Carrie was photographed breaking Covid social distancing rules in September 2020.

The PM will hide behind claims he is to crack down on the “culture” at No10 in his bid to deflect any blame.

Those who could be singled out for blame inclde his PM’s principal private secretary Martin Reynolds – who sent the May 20 party invite – his deputy Stewart Glassborow and chief of staff Dan Rosenfeld.

But Mr Lawson’s claims suggest Mr Johnson knew more about the parties than he let on.

The well-connected columnist said: “Last week I spoke to a former Downing Street official who said at least two people had told the PM, after seeing the emailed invitation from Martin Reynolds that this was ‘a party’ and should be immediately cancelled.

“I was told that Johnson’s dismissive response was to say they were ‘overreacting’ and to praise Reynolds as ‘my loyal Labrador’.

“I then asked someone who has known the PM for decades what could have made him take such an approach (other than natural hospitality and affability).

No10 insisted: “It is untrue that the Prime Minister was warned about the event in advance.

“As he said earlier this week he believed implicitly that this was a work event.”

We can reveal Mr Johnson gave a speech at an event to mark defence adviser Captain Steve Higham’s Downing Street departure before Christmas in 2020.

It is understood the PM was “there for a few minutes to thank him for his service” as a “small number of No10 staff briefly said goodbye”.

Tory chairman Oliver Dowden© Sky Tory chairman Oliver Dowden

    The MoD declined to comment.

Our revelation could give senior civil servant Sue Gray more material to consider as part of her probe into the Downing Street parties.

Tory chairman Oliver Dowden signalled civil servants would take the rap for the rule breaking parties.

He said: “The PM is determined to make sure that this can’t be allowed to happen and that we address the underlying culture in Downing Street. There were failings, we should have done better.”

The Mirror told on Saturday how Mr Johnson attended some “wine time” Friday events at No10.

What do you think? Have your say in the comments below.

His wife Carrie was snapped embracing a pal at a club in London at the friend’s engagement party. Guidance at the time included remaining two metres apart.

Carrie’s spokeswoman said: “Mrs Johnson regrets the momentary lapse in judgement.” As Labour surged ahead in the polls, Former minister Tim Loughton yesterday became the fifth Tory to publicly call for Mr Johnson to quit.

Mr Johnson launched “Operation Red Meat” in a desperate bid to win back mutinous MPs and furious voters.

One strategy involves bringing in the Navy to halt refugee Channel crossings.
