  1. Well done Celtic last night.

it was good to see Albian ( You can call me AL)…Ajeti scoring.

Well done to JJ Kenny…a very good debut. I seem to remember a former Celtic player with the same” JJ”to his name and he wore Number 7…..He didnt turnout too bad either.

I was a bit annoyed when at 0-0, and Killie crossed the ball into our 6 yard box…and Taylor had to fend off that wee Hun Burke and chest the ball down, and Burke screaming for a non existent penalty….With Scott Bain ” ROOTED” to his goal line. Bain SHOULD be coming for crosses that are dropping in our 6 yard box IMHO ?

Why put on Laxalt in the 89th minute as a Sub ? UNLESS , he has to take part in a certain number of games as part of his loan deal ? Was Neil Lennon making sure that Laxalt criteria was/is being met ?

  2. Back early. My wimpy golf mate didn`t want to play because it was cold, windy and wet. Big Jessie !

    Just watched the highlights.

Our penalty looked like a dive to me. Maybe Clancy was trying to make up for his not seeing, apparently, Morelos` stamp v Hibs.

    Did 4-0 flatter us?

Does that mean if you order a diamond necklace for immediate delivery you’ll get some costume jewellery at the very last minute?

Good result last night but let’s be honest, this is the worst Kilmarnock side in a long time.

  7. Hot Smoked,

    Did 4-0 flatter us?

Yes it did. I believe that Killie had more shots/headers but, as a one-off game, I’ll take it.

Happily. They weren’t very good but we need to secure 2nd place pronto to ensure minimum requirement of ECL qualification next season.

The penalty would never have been given had the league been closer. Guys like Clancy know the score. Allowed the huns to moan last night about fairness and how Celtic get the breaks. You could not make it up…

It was a funny one last night. In terms of cutting edge we were similar to many games this season when we maybe score 1. Breaks went our way last night

At the other end we vastly improved with Welsh and Ajer vs Bitton and Duffy. Proper right back a massive boost. Left back still a glaring issue on positioning/physicality.

In midfield, Brown had a great game – Killie sat back to give him room but Tshbola was hacking him for long periods and he did not lose the ball- good positioning around the box last night too. Best showing in 2 years

Turnbull good again. Christie and Mcgregor did OK

Summary: we gave no stupid goals away and score a high %ge of our chances; stood up to the physicality Green shoots but could easily have been a 1-1 and us bemoaning a dominant perf and dropped points.

    Top 3: Kenny, Brown, Edouard

Incidents: Brown not guilty; Eddie should have had a pen; Ajeti played for his pen but nowadays it is; looked offside but who knows; Burke chance not over the line

  11. I have often wondered that when certain EX Players like Andy Walker state..” He felt a touch…so he was entitled to go down”…to win a Free kick or a Penalty….actually thought the very same in THEIR Playing days ?

When Walker played for Celtic, and an opposition player was ” slightly touched” by a Celtic player, and hit the deck…resulting in said opponents being awarded a Penalty against Celtic….Did Walker EVER tell his Celtic team mates…” Listen Bhoys, THEIR Player was entitled to go down” etc”…..Did walker NEVER complain to a Ref or Linesman or his team mates about the injustice ?

Did Walker NEVER think to himself..” That Guy has just CHEATED us, and CONNED the Ref” ?

Walker is just another Thick so called Pundit/Expert…who is happy to ” stick it” to Celtic at every opportunity…Packie Bonnar is just as Thick…if not more.

  12. 4-0 excellent result

    Wait a minute

They had more shots and headers

    Broonie could have been off

    Soft penalty

    Eddie offside ?

Did their header cross the line

We must have been lucky 😫

  13. It would be quite wrong to dismiss inconvenient defeats as ‘dead rubbers’ whilst suggesting last night is a new dawn.

    Very good result.

    We have some cracking players.

We must build on that momentum and give ourselves the best opportunity for next season.

    We dont need nostalgic complacency

  14. Well as Lenny says we are not getting carried away, no but we are carrying on, with Lenny

Good result of course at a place we came unstuck early in the season, though they had a manager then.

That said January, with four games at home out six, and our one win against the bottom of the league Hamilton has got to be one of our worst starts to a New Year in a long time. And one which cost us any hope of staying in the title race. Our record over the last 25 games is hardly better than Killies, but there is one big difference, they are looking for a new manager, now, while we’ll be looking for one later.

Still in lockdown (same as the old lockdown), same two room flat, same four walls. Best breakfast for a month.

Reading the details, our two 9s provided three goals and two assists. Lifts the spirits when our forwards lead.

Johnjoe Kenny seems to have joined our bio-bubble with minimum inconvenience. The impression I have is footballers are moving around the country and abroad as they would do under normal circumstances.

  16. Hot smoked… 4 0 slightly flattering.. 3-1.. More a reflection on game… Maybe clancy was just making up for the two stone wallers he missed??

  17. It took Ajeti a while to get going but when he did i thought he done well. (needs to cut out the theatrics though)

I dont think it was a pen.

If Salah had held off the defender controlled the ball and put it away like Ajeti it would have been a worldy with the panel.

Jonjoe was assured and moved into space well, pity its only a loan.

Eddys goal was offside by a yard but finished calmly.

Defending the centre of our own box is a shambles…. We got away with 3 mibbe 4 headed chances.

Brown set us off with a brave header, think there was a bigh boot coming his way

Bain who is my favoured keeper, i cant understand him letting the ball drop to its lowest point 2 yards out, well done Taylor.

So we can play fitbae on that surface, one less excuse to use on our terrible season.

    Chuffed with the clean sheet.

    Chuffed with the 4 goals.

Ps… Did Ajeti remove his fat suit before going onto the park, seemed a lot slimmer last night

    Ajeti mom.

Play him from the start every game and reap the rewards.

Anyhoo, all in all, a stress free night lol.

  18. Another thought

we had no issues with the pitch last night and zipped the ball around well

Our pitch at CP has definitely not helped us. Why is it such a mess?

  19. The 4-0 score line MIGHT Have flattered us but Killie did not have more shots on goal, I think. We got one penalty we should have had another. The ‘goal’ for Killie was not over the line and we’ll never know whether French Eddy’s goal was offside as there was no camera angle to prove it one way or another.

  20. Bhoy From The Boyne on

Interesting CU podcast on our CEO this week.

Harry Brady said he discussed succession planning with PL in July 2019 & PL said to him he wouldn’t have any choice other than to stand down……if we didn’t do 10iar.

  21. I’m sure the Hun forums are beating themselves up

Should have been down to 10 men at DU and Hibs before scoring

Goldson a def pen and should have been off.

    etc. etc

    No me neither

  22. First half Ajeti was anonymous.Reading his quotes,I will put it down to match fitness.Started to work a bit harder, second half, and showed what he can do with a bit of strength for his goal.Has to stay in team.

I see the Twitter loonies at it again with wee Greg. The boy had a very good game last night. He passes to feet in the box,as opposed to throwing in crosses to no one.Works relentlessly. Will do for me.

    BURNLEY,

I agree with your post 100%.Said the same myself. No idea WTF James Forrest was so upset about.

If you add in the Hagi high boot in the previous Hibs game for pen not given , that’s at least a 6 point swing .

That’s only the ones I can be bothered recalling .

  24. Gene

Havnt read back , i was only commenting on how i seen the game play out.

I dont actually care what Rangers get away with good or bad, its all about us/what we do that concerns me.

I’ve said before, every member club should arrange to meet before the season starts, they should have video evidence of their referreeing grievances (why this or that club got away with this decision while we were punished)

  25. Some comments on here from fans on last nights win,if any off them are like me watching the game ,they celtic have knocked the stuffing out of me .watching the game i feel im waitng on the mistakes to happen ,thats how bad we have been this season, hopefuuly their will be big changes next season, as for the players except for a few ,we have very good players in the squad, the big problem is they havnt been coached well, hope that changes sooner rather than latter,The ones that need to go in the summer transfer window , Griffiths, bad attitude, Christie, McGregor been to long at the club, Rogic good player but all good things come to a end,Taylor cant see him improving bad crosser ,and no height,Duffy sent back to Brighton,Ajer, Edouard, they will find new clubs in the summer,Nitcham sell on to,Barkas same , so there is a massive rebuilding structures that needs fixed.

  26. What did our club/players do about the stamp on Broonie(Naismitg) twice.

What did our club /players do about the punch on Broonie from Kent

What did our club/players do about the assualt on broonie at pittodrie by 2 Aberdeen players

What did our club/players about the assualt on Tierney by the Aberdeen thig

What did our club/players do with the treatment meeted out to frimpong.

……………my point being, Rangers will get away ably assisted by the refereeing fraternity things we cant directly alter on tge day

We (Celtic) need to be more vocal off the park and more physical on it.

    IMHO.

  27. marspapa on 3rd February 2021 11:09 am

Absolutely spot on. Particularly the final point, we are saft as a you know whit.

  28. SPIKEYSAULDMAN on 3RD FEBRUARY 2021 11:04 AM

kilmarnock had 12 shots – we had 12

I think the argument is they had better quality of scoring chance than us, especially the stream of headers won by their big CH. We tended to try and either walk it in (Eddie) or shoot badly (Christie and Turnbull).

Matters not a jot at the end of the day result-wise but suggests we’re still too porous at the back.
