Many thanks for your reply.I really do think we should ramp up the pressure on the Huns regarding the stories surrounding the roofs. We need an undertaking from Celtic that the roofs are not a hazard to our fans.In fact it should be the duty of our club to find out the facts on this subject. Not as box office as the “Same club”question many wanting answered, but one with far more damaging consequences.

Remember when people were saying we should have appointed Henrik Larsson as manager?

    ——————————————————————————-

    Yes, good times.

To be fair to Larsson. Helsingborgs have had financial problems leaving them with a pretty poor squad. However, you would still have expected a good manager to keep them up via a play-off – like how Stuart McCall kept Motherwell up a couple of seasons ago ;)

Good Morning Bhoys from a very frosty Central Scotland. This is a very big week for the hoops if we want to be in European football after Christmas we need a huge result against Barcelona and then of course theres the league cup final against the Dandy Dons.H.H.

I do indeed.Misguided romantics.I do think though that young Jordan could be offered a loan deal now that the season is over.Just to put a good few minds at rest. You never know.

  5. 10 years ago today,Naka hit the best free kick I have ever seen from a Celtic player.Good God,10 years.Where does the time go?.

  6. Anyway,….Jordan Larsson and, Peter Grant jr

to be brought in and given the benefit of Brendan’s

tutelage…we might have a couple of right guid yins.

Beautiful sunny day up North. Stunning azure sky, with not a cloud in the sky. F-f-f- kinfreezin’ though.

I bought Mrs H a plum tree for her birthday about 5 years ago. This year we had the first decent crop of fruit. The tree is only about seven feet tall, but we must have had over 200 Victoria plums. The fruit bounty was such that a major limb of the tree broke, so it may be the last.

Anyhoo, we ate heaps of plums and plum crumble. Mrs H made brilliant plum jam. We have also tried two little experiments. I have put some plums and sugar in a Kilmer jar, ant topped up with (top notch) brandy. These have been stored in a dark cupboard, and should yield lovely plums for a pudding at xmas, and I am hoping, a nice plum brandy liqueur.

Remembering a very wild night a few years back, where Slivovic played a starring role, I have chucked a load of halved plums and some sugar into a large Kilner jar, added a bottle of Gordon’s gin and stored, ready for xmas also :)))

I hope Jordan gets a team that appreciates him

However, it’s really up to Brendan if he rates Jordan. Last thing we need to do is waste young Jordan’s time.

    And your point is

    ____

A lot of folk on here will criticise everything the board do. Yet they have no scooby how to run a club themselves and can’t think of a manager outside of “well he’s a legend so why not?”

    DAVIDOPOULOS on 21ST NOVEMBER 2016 9:39 AM

I’m sure they have a better paid team than the team who beat them in the playoff. Henke didn’t pull up any trees at Falkenbergs yet Helsinborg’s appointed him. Another example of the heart ruling the head.

Rangers ace Andy Halliday insists Ibrox men still have Celtic in their sights as he says second place is ‘not an option’

HALLIDAY admits he can’t live with himself after defeats and believes the Gers can claw back Celtic’s mammoth lead at the top of the table.

    By Gary Ralphston

ANDY HALLIDAY will never give up the task of hunting down Celtic – haunted by the fear of failure at Rangers.

The Ibrox midfielder revealed his entire career has been fuelled with his dislike of green and white, even as he admitted the Light Blues’ title challenge to date has been far too feeble.

Halliday laid it on the line with characteristic bluntness as Harry Forrester’s last gasp goal in the 1-0 win over Dundee kept them within touching distance of second place Aberdeen.

The reigning champion Celts , however, are in danger of disappearing over the horizon before Santa Claus is even spotted in skies and are already 11 points clear of their oldest rivals with a game in hand.

Halliday, 25, said: “The biggest thing about being at this magnificent football club isn’t actually the joy of winning, it’s just being here confirmation that you are better than the rest. It’s as simple as that.

“Any footballer worth his salt hates losing so much and to have been robbed of the amount of points we have so far this season is heart breaking.

“You want to do well for everyone and that’s why the overwhelming feeling after Dundee isn’t joy, but relief – and I’ll say that after pretty much most of the occasions I win for this football club. The volatility of our following should never be underestimated. They are passionate and pay our wages.

“I’ve been like that since I was a kid. I lost games as a 14-year-old and walked off the pitch in tears, not because I didn’t win, but because I hate losing so much to the other side. It kills me.

“That’s what drives me on and I guarantee most of the boys will say the same because it’s so disappointing when you’re not getting the results you deserve.

“It’s a hard place to be – I don’t want to leave the house if we drop points on a Saturday, I want to stay in for a week. Look at the unabated harassment that Martyn experienced last week when he went to his local chippy, I’m just so happy we won because if it had been another two points dropped it would have been yet again completely unjust.

“I said the same at the start of the season and I’ll say the same again we can’t settle for second – so Celtic look out here we come.

“Don’t get me wrong, Celtic have been slightly better than us this year – so far, but they have played many games and their manager has had a very lucky start. That luck cannot continue

“We will secure as many wins as possible before the winter break and, with it, a bit of momentum to hopefully claw it back.

“We’re certainly going to try to take maximum points in this tough run of games coming up because we’ve not done enough yet to be in the title race.

“We’ve been denied far too many points, so we need to get momentum back and keep picking up and before long reduce Celtic’s lead.”

Rangers have won only six of their 13 league games played so far and it would have been six draws had Forrester not connected with the cross from fellow sub Joe Dodoo who has finally come good. It was a world class cross, one that David Beckham would have been proud of

It represented their second league win in a row at home this season, remarkably the first time they’ve managed that feat.

Halliday added: “It was deserved and it’s the first time this season we’ve got the rewards for our persistence.

“It was far from perfect. It was never going to be perfect until next season, but we’re getting better and better.

“We stuck to our guns and were persistent. We dominated the ball throughout the 90 minutes and finally received our reward at the end, as you know persistence beats resistance

“The goal was a credit to the three boys who came on and changed the game for us. It was a great ball in from Joe and a great header from Harry and demonstrates the world class quality we have even on the bench

“We kept our nerve and that’s why I’m so proud – against St Johnstone two weeks ago we moved away from that. We were very good in the first 45 minutes against them before the nerves started to creep in over the second half. This time, the boys stuck to what we do best.

“This is a fantastic football club, but when you are not getting results it’s hard because you are so disappointed. You want to do so well for the team, the fans, your family and the club and the country.

“When you are not getting results that you deserve due to poor officiating or shear bad luck it’s hard to keep going and pick yourself up. That’s why the fans travel in their numbers wherever we go.

“They give us that little bit extra. In the last 10-15 minutes they drove us on and thankfully we managed to reward them with a win finally at the end of the end of.

“It only took the new boys a small period time to realise the expectation level at this club. That’s what you want in football. That’s why you want to play at massive football clubs like this and grounds like Dens Park

“There aren’t many football clubs in the world with the expectation level of this one. We need to win every week and we must thrive on that challenge. That’s why I’m proud the boys stuck to their guns in the second half. That wee bit of luck has been missing so far this year and now that it is back Brendan Rodgers will be looking nervously over his shoulder now ”

In comparison to most other managers in the league, Warburton has such strength in depth on his bench and utilised his attacking options to the full.

Mind you, there were howls of outrage when Barrie McKay came on for Josh Windass, who had impressed in the first 65 minutes, but the grief gave way to glory in the end.

Halliday added: “Harry started the season on fire with a couple of goals in the first few games

“Either a dip in form or some niggling injuries kept him out the team but I see how hard he works from his physique in the shower, he´s not a shy lad and if you have got it then you may as well flaunt it.

“I’m delighted for him to get the winner and it was a fantastic ball in from Joe. Most important for me was the introduction of Barrie, who changed the game. He added that little bit of pace and tempo. It’s important the subs come on and make an impact for us.”

CELTIC CHAMPS ELECT @ 10:04 PM,

    Well that’she an interesting post…

    Which year?

I was at the game at Broomfield in 1974…

As my school was in Coatbridge and we had ghuys playing I supported Coatbridge.

T’uther reason was my understanding that the Airdrie team was selected from Schools participating in the Airdrie Schools Cup.

No Catholic Schools were allowed to play in the Competition at that time ergo…

So quite surprised you made it…

    Well done.

Thanks yes it was the first year that catholic schools were allowed to play. Trials were held at Airdrie Academy your mates must have been from st pats or Columba high or st ambrose I think the game finished 3-3 or we lost 4-1 the memory has gone on that game as I had a mare :-))

I had tattie scones for breakfast. Today I am unstoppable!

I see BMG lost again at the weekend – not the best preparation for the visit of Man City.

Btw, forecast for Glasgow on Weds is sunny and clear. I prefer to beat Europe’s big guns when it is raining. Ah well…

    ………………..

The funniest opening line I think I’ve ever read on any post on CQN. Made both the wife and I laugh out loud :-))

  14. PHILBHOY on 21ST NOVEMBER 2016 10:02 AM

All you can go on is his record in managerial positions. It’s woeful. One thing that I think is key to being successful with us is being able to compete in Europe – ie make the players play above themselves. His record definitely shows no indication of any of the teams he’s managed doing that.

  15. “Look at the unabated harassment that Martyn experienced last week when he went to his local chippy, I’m just so happy we won because if it had been another two points dropped it would have been yet again completely unjust.”

    HAHAHHA

A schoolboy shouting “you’re s****” is now defined as “Unabated harassment”

I really doubt that Halliday actually said that. Sounds like fat Jim Traynor.

“Don’t get me wrong, Celtic have been slightly better than us this year”

11 points ahead. 18 more goals scored. Conceded 5 less. Played a game less. Eliminated them from the League Cup. Beat them 5-1 in the league. All done while having to compete in Europe.

    Still that’s only “slightly better”

“their manager has had a very lucky start. That luck cannot continue”

There is no luck about it pal. Just watch this space.

More unabated p*sh coming from Jabba.

    Absolutely fella. thing about him

Look at how almost everybody wrote off Paul Lambert after his Livingston gig.

I know he’s on the deck just now but, he has shown what he’s got in hi locker.

    Maybe Henrik and BJM ?

Whatever,….I’d never write off Henrik….he could land in out of a parachute some day and take us away on some magical journey, I think he has that thing about him.

Anyway, I’m well chuffed that in my Cellic supporting life, i’ve seen 4 magical no 7’s in our beloved hoops….

    Jimmy Johnstone…

    King Kenny Dalglish….

    Davie Provan….

    Henrik Larsson…

….all to varying degrees but, what memories.
