My understanding is that the government is considering taxing the lump sum. At present the first 30,000 is tax free.
At present, it’s,all rumour and conjecture. I’m certainly not heard about doing away with it up together. Although nothing would surprise me.

I hate many clubs and/or their support for maybe one reason, or a series of reasons.
Your right, hate us a strong word but tell me this wasn’t it West Ham fans who started organised violence in the 1980s with the Inter City Firm ? No interest in football, just violent nutters. Likewise , I hate clubs fans like Ajax, and I’m sure that your aware of the history of their fans when we have played them ?
Why should I wish certain clubs well, who have fans like that ?
If Celtic were playing West Ham this week, what pubs do you think the West Ham fans would be drinking in prior to, during and after the game in Glasgow…….Bar 67 ?
Let me guess, the Louden and other Hun pubs more like.
I hate oldco, for numerous reasons .

I’ve always hated everything that oldco stood for, likewise sevco .
Are you seriously suggesting that I should only DISLIKE oldco/Sevco ?

If so, then your a better man than me. I can’t express on here what I have lost in life due to the beliefs of those who are orange, and who supported oldco , and now Sevco no doubt ?

Aye, it will be a masterclass of political answers obscuring the message at times, I’m sure!
As far as the St Mary’s fundraiser, great contribution by CQN’ers helped enormously; having the game in direct competition robbed us of about 30 people so money was down a bit this time!

I’m not sure about NHS lump sum payments but in the civil service redundancy payments will change.
The government are planning to reduce the Civil Service Compensation scheme to 40 grand in total, irrespective of how many years service a person has. allegedly the government have told the union, if the new plan is not accepted, the maximum redundancy payment will be 20 grand.
It looks like the government are intending to introduce this to those working in public services.

At present the whole lump sum should be tax free. The first £30,000.00 tax free applies to redundancy payments.
Anybody who is a long term member of a scheme whether it be NHS or Civil Service tend to have grandparent rights and any changes normally affect new entrants but may also affect people with more than 10 years to retirement.
Having said that I wouldn’t trust the Tory Bassas and that includes new Labour.
