Ki’s remarkable transfer to Swansea

625

Best wishes to Ki Sung-Yeng who joined Swansea City today.  The Korean international joined Celtic in January 2010 but the subsequent arrival of central midfielder Beram Kayal, Joe Ledley and Victor Wanyama, curtailed his first-team opportunites.

Ki possesses excellent technique and can cover 50 yards as quickly as anyone at Celtic but he often failed to impose himself on games.  Selling a reserve player with 15 months left on his contract for a fee of around £6m is truly remarkable.  I am one of the players many admirers but I don’t know anyone who would pay anything like that money for him.

We Oscar 4 Life’ have organised a bucket collection for Dundee home game at CP on 22nd of September and require a Lorry Load of Volunteer collectors. To volunteer as a bucket collected please email us at weeoscar4life@gmail.com.

  1. 6.3k is indeed a good result for a player who was not regarded as 1st pick

Unfortunatly due to corporate errors at board level, Ki’s money has to go to pay for the mistakes of the last 4 years

Qualifying once out of 4 years for the CL is indeed a huge corporate failure for our CEO and board which has cost our club huge amounts of revenue, hence the Ki money just makes up for corportate failures

On the +ve. It’s good to get an early sat kick off 9:45pm:)

Great to watch the game in the pub

    How you doing,bud?

You’ve been missed the last few days, some of us mineshafters had to carry on the good fight without your insightful input.

But we did our best-doubtless you’ll know who the main suspects were, haha!

I asked yesterday if people would be happy with the club saying we would spend our £25m CL money a year in arrears,on players signed and ready for the new season.

I didn’t notice any replies-maybe because they know it won’t be spent on the team,in arrears or otherwise.

Enjoy the game-I’d be too pashed at that time on a Saturday night to watch us!

Always liked Ki and feel he could have been useful for us in Europe this year.

However, when you’re a club that pays its taxes, hard decisions must be made to keep the finances on an even keel.

Hopefully, today we can keep the momentum going with a win at ICT.

Butcher will have his hammer throwers up for this as usual. So Neil will have the difficult task of balancing his resources and effort between this game and Wednesday’s qualifier.

@scotzine: So doping could lead to Lance Armstrong one of the greatest cyclists ever to be stripped of his titles. But financial doping does not?

@scotzine: Cheating is cheating after all no matter how you cut it.

@scotzine: Using substances to enhance yourself to win or spending money beyond your means and cheating the system to sign players to enhance your team to win titles. Same thing.

Those in control may be the ones who implemented it but @scotzine: The players benefited from it and so did the club.

@scotzine: And all parties should be punished if found guilty no matter if they are the greatest cyclist or one of the biggest sides in country
