Ki’s remarkable transfer to Swansea

625

Best wishes to Ki Sung-Yeng who joined Swansea City today.  The Korean international joined Celtic in January 2010 but the subsequent arrival of central midfielder Beram Kayal, Joe Ledley and Victor Wanyama, curtailed his first-team opportunites.

Ki possesses excellent technique and can cover 50 yards as quickly as anyone at Celtic but he often failed to impose himself on games.  Selling a reserve player with 15 months left on his contract for a fee of around £6m is truly remarkable.  I am one of the players many admirers but I don’t know anyone who would pay anything like that money for him.

We Oscar 4 Life’ have organised a bucket collection for Dundee home game at CP on 22nd of September and require a Lorry Load of Volunteer collectors. To volunteer as a bucket collected please email us at weeoscar4life@gmail.com.

Petec Hitler was Time magazines man of the year once 1938 and the in the words of Time it goes to the person/group that “for better or worse has done most to influence events of that year”

Awww, Yorkbhoy , don’t be spoiling the CQN Conspiracy club’s tales , with bringing things like facts to the blog…..

  2. Astonishing that Commons is judged to be eighth choice pick for Scotland, whilst Clugger Black walks straight into team.

I see Andy Webster is ahead of Mulgrew in pecking order too…

  3. Morning all from a dreary North Ayrshire.

Can’t get excited about the game in Inverness. At best, it is something to get out of the way and none of the players injured. We’ll have that beloved darling of the media, Butcher, inflicted on us. Unlike our manager, who is abused for whatever he says, Butcher is allowed to spout all the nonsense he likes. Why? Dead easy: he captained thon deid team and, by his own admission, bought into the hate and bigotry that marks them. Awful.

  4. Looking like dropped points today, lenny wont risk any players who are not 100% fit, wednesdays result is the big one.

I don’t know where you’re getting your information, and, while it is a travesty for Scotland, never mind Commons & Mulgrew, I think it is good news for Celtic. It reminds me of the 60s, when nobody could lace Bobby Murdoch’s boots and he seldom played for Scotland, because space had to be found for Grieg…….Says it all really. Levein is obviously trying to get the “support” of the deid team to turn up for Scotland.

I expect James Forrest is only gonna be picked if he can prove the rumour about the 5-star tattoo is true…….

    Personally,I couldn’t care less,but it’s a shame for the players.

“I see that tactical genius Craig Levein is saying it’s a long way back for Kris Commons to get into the Scotland team.”

Maybe he will suggest he has to drop a few pounds first, or a few divisions.

We have surely came a long way when £6 million pound players cannot break into our first team. Well done to all involved in this sharp piece of business.

Hello , just to let you know that I am planning to take part in a 50 mile cycle from Glasgow to Edinburgh, 09/09/2012

During the next 2/3 weeks I plan to train very hard in order to be able to take part in this cycle where I would hope to be able raise some funds for “Wee Oscar Knox” who is 3 year old kid and is not keeping very well just now.

You can read Oscar’s story on web link below….

Pmsl jist walked by JJB sports in Irvine and centre off attention is the new sevco black 3rd strip with tainted 5 stars but best off all is the irn – bru mottif on sleeve although got me thinkin why the hell do they need 3 strips unless maybe the same rules apply in the ramsdens cup as in Europe

  14. Morning Hoopsters…

I think we’ll see a different first 11 up at the Slaughterhouse today, we certainly don’t need any more injured players, time for some of our squad players to grab their chance and get knocking on the door!!

Craig Levine talking football hahahaha remember who put him in a job and why?

Disband the SFA and that’s me being nice cos I had a long lie…

It’ll be a long time before Scotland qualify for the world cup again, the gravy train lickers have systematically sucked the life out of our game…

Exactly, why pick a player who is involved in the Champions League when you can spread the caps throughout the divisions.

I think Levein is trying to get sacked!

    Morning, fholks…

It has always been the case that Celtic players were denied the chance to play for their Country in favour of oldco cluggers …… And when they did play, they were booed every time they touched the ball, particularly in the late 60’s, early 70’s…sad really, but that’s why Scotland has never enjoyed any success.

Anyway, looking forward to the game today …….. hope NEIL rests as many players as possible……MON THE HOOPS ( and white socks …… LOL..!!!!)

  18. ParkheadcumSalford,

I used to be impatient with Scottish Celtic fans who didn’t support Scotland. After the events of the last 2 years I cannot imagine going to watch Scotland play ever again.

Unless it’s against Italy and I’ll be supporting the Azzurri…

EBT Case – Big Tax Case

13.17 The Big Tax Case is disputed by the Company and is subject to a first tier tax Tribunal. An outcome has yet to be determined by the Tribunal and is expected in September 2012.

I love that the court appointed Administrators use a phrase coined by an internet bampot to describe the er.. Big Tax Case

I was curious about the Time Man of the Year assertion and decided to look it up …

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Time_Person_of_the_Year#Persons_of_the_Year

It’s certainly an odd looking list … featuring such contrasting figures as Ghandi, Hitler (but only once), Stalin (twice), John XXIII (followed immediately by M.L.King Jr), Richard Nixon twice in a row (’71 then ’72).

Perhaps, as the saying goes, “you had to be there” to understand the choices.

As for the departed KI: sorry to see him go; arguably a decent bit of business by PL. And a shame he’ll probably now never kick a ball in a Champions League game. It’s too late now, but I would have liked to have seen him play for us in the CL this year then let him go in January.

    So it goes …

  22. News that Craig Levein says its a long way back for Kris Commons fills me with……..joy.

a three hr bus trip up to inverness the day before i think has always been the mode of transport. Far greener than flying which is appropriate.

Reminds of the time the press ran a story about Bellamy in a fight in a Glasgow club when he was in fact up in Inverness the night before the game.

Although whether he was tucked up in bed or in a stramash in an Inverness club I don’t know.

  24. Folly Folly, I’ve read a lot about Time magazine and other photo-journalist publications and the Man of the Year was never an “award” . It didn’t go to the best person of the year just the most significant. Pol Pot would therefore be more likely to feature rather than Mother Theresa.

    And finally:

    Conflict of Interest

10.4 The Joint Administrators have provided a report to the Court of Session regarding Duff & Phelps‟ prior involvement with the Company and detailing the Joint Administrators‟ conflict review procedures which were undertaken prior to the Administration. A similar report has also been provided to the Joint Administrators‟ regulatory body, the IPA.

One wonders quite how much of D&P’s £362,389 time cost for July and August was billed against the time taken to respond to Court and Professional Regulator inquiries…

Congratulations to our very ‘company man’,the evil genius and mastermind of SFA and SPL procedure for getting 6m for Ki.

  29. Few moments through the season are as stressful as seeing the Scottish Bhoys trotting out at Hampden or some far flung ground abroad for the national team. I think we should be thankful that the SFA’s hireling does not seem to want Kris C in his team. I’d love to hear Broony announce his international retirement. Celtic is the first and last consideration: the Scottish national team is an embarrassing wagon train on a pointless trail of tears.
