Let King get on with his work!

329

The SFA may well find Dave King not Fit and Proper to be a director of a football club but, if it happens, it will only be a token gesture.  King would be forced to resign as a director of Newco, but he would remain the major shareholder.

There is nothing to stop him activing as a shadow director – exercising all the power but without the legal liabilities.  There is nothing to stop him attending board meetings, or from appointing his own placemen on the board.  Football’s Fit and Proper test is no more than a token curiosity, it is not worthy of the column inches it is regularly attributed.

Newco will remain a basket case as long as King remains in control, as director or otherwise.  There is a chance this will change when he leaves, but no more than that.  For me, anything that inhibits his ability to remain in control is unwelcome.  Never interrupt your enemy when he’s making mistakes, as Napoleon almost said.  Let the man get on with his work!

Well, that was just a little bit too easy, with all contestants who entered Round 5 making it through to Round 6.

Next week we return to domestic Fitba’ which should make picking a winner more difficult.

Marc will post an update later of who’s in and, er, who’s in……….and will also post a list of which teams each contestant has picked in previous rounds.

Scotland score from a Ryan Christie corner. From a Celtic point of view, maybe we should look to the receivers rather than the takers when we are nominating Escape Goats?

  6. HUNDERBIRDS ARE GONE:

Did you see his first one in the first minute? Low to the first defender – just hopeless. If you get 18 corners in a game, you are bound to get one of them right.

I think I’ve seen Ajer get to one corner this season. Considering he is 6ft 5in, you would think he would be hard to miss.

Hello all, a Celtic wallet has been found in my work during the week (Southside òf Glasgow not too far from Hampden). It has a couple of bank cards and a workplace discount card in it. If whomever it belongs to wants to get my email from Paul 67 or an admin and we can arrange to get it back to it owner. Cheers HH 🍀🍀🍀

I’m on holiday abroad and only saw the last twenty minutes or so of the game on a dodgy stream, so no, I missed the corner you highlight. I did however see two very poor corners after the one Scotland scored from, and I agree that generally Celtic’s corners are poorer than I can describe. My comment was mostly tongue in cheek, but Scotland scoring from a Christie corner did give me food for thought on our own corner analysis.

    Good mhan!

  10. I know people ask- do we NOT practice corners?

Maybe we don’t, in light of the ongoing research into the damage that is done long term by headering the ball.

  11. Hello again all you young rebels.
