Very grateful to whoever at the BBC researched that Celtic are the third team in European football history to achieve the Double Treble, after The New Saints (TNS) and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). This level of brilliance it exceptional by any standards.
Despite the levels of dominance TNS and PSG enjoy in their domestic leagues, neither were able to complete a Treble Treble; only Celtic can do that now.
The Scottish Cup Final was an exercise in game management by Brendan Rodgers. His team took a two goal lead and set about making sure Motherwell would be unable to lay a glove on them.
The strongest weaker foot in the game
Among the remarkable performances on the day, special mention has to go to Callum McGregor. Yet again he scored on the big stage, yet again with his supposed weaker foot, yet again the crucial first goal. His game intelligence bought him the space to attack when the ball was headed out of the Motherwell penalty area. The shot, hit on the drop-volley, was controlled and crisp.
I doubt there is a better finisher in Scottish football.

BEATBHOY I understand your argument, but that point was illustrative for KevJ and he responded like I thought he would.
Notwithstanding the cost of the Rangers (IL) team when MON came in, he still had some damn fine players at his disposal (Lambert, Lubo, Larsson, Mjallby) and was able to bring in some real quality to enhance and change the team over that first season. He still did a fantastic job in winning the treble in his first season and it was joyous.
Time will tell …….

Mickey Mouse is the least of our worries.
Based on reality, rather than Zombie-pleasing fantasy, I’d love to be in a Mickey Mouse league.
So much so, I’d pay to attend.

That would be difficult for me, in any circumstances!
I’ve crossed my Rubicon, I’ll suspend my powers of disbelief for a film or a play, not for so-called sport.
MoN and a fair few others, Dermot being a prime example should all know better, but they are not supporters like us, they see the club in a totally different way from what we do, Chris Davis when he was getting interviewed on the open top bus on saturday was in awe of the support, I paraphrase but he said the support live for Celtic, that kinda support was alien to him, but I think something clicked within him.
At the end of the day it matters not a jot what ex players and ex managers say, we know the truth, that’s all imo that matters, the media will spout thier pish no matter what, let them, thye media are after all responsible for their demise, ahd they told the truth from the onset, they may well never have died, for that I thank them from the bottom of my heart.

Yeah, I suppose action on the report could take until next century!
Joking apart, thanks for that, and if it comes to pass, the drinks are on me in Coia’s for the opening fixture.

Agree. MON was telling the SMSM what they wanted to hear. I think his interview was riddled with sarcasm fae the wise old fox(Leicester pun intended).
He does not wish letterbombs for being honest. God bless MON. Celtic Legend.

My son’s mate was following the open top bus on Saturday. He said every player on the bus was taken aback and humbled by their reception.
This is how it feels to be Celtic.

Keep telling them we need a strong Rangers. They are falling for it hook line and sinker. They think that means SPEND MORE MONEY (that they don’t have).
Bye, bye, Sevco.

A wee while since I’ve logged in but I wanted to tell everyone about, my Celtic daft daughter who passed away in her sleep, on Saturday morning aged 32.
Helen was born with Spina Bifida and was confined to a wheelchair, a front row hero, who usually had a worms eye view , but bhoy did she love Celtic.
Helens first game 20 years ago Lubo Moravceks debut v Dundee, from then on she travelled everywhere following the Celts, Inverness, Manchester, Newcastle, the longer the trip the better Helen liked it, a wee sing song in the van , four generations of tims her granda, me dad, nieces’ and nephews, we had many great days, sad days but Helen always kept us going.
All along that front row she made many good friends, Alistair Jack , Robert and Annmarie, meachan, Kate, the Stranraer tims , micheal, Hughie, and the bhoys, Scott and John, Kevin and the brilliant Michele Main from Partick, FS3 will never be the same. Helen was so looking forward to the weekend, cup final, but she loved Scott Brown and was just as exited to going on Sunday as she preferred paradise, but it wasn’t to be.
I Know now that Helen will be in your prayers, and thoughts thank you CQN

I very much doubt Kev needs anyone to fight his battles, as for being bullied, when I was about ten-eleven an older lad pinned me down and stubbed a few fags out on my back, it hurt I can tell you, I vowed then to get my own back, I waited nearly twenty years and when I eventually got my revenge I never lifted a finger, I never had to, but my revenge was sweet and worthwhile, it’s a blog, treat it as a blog, no need to get involved.

Fritzsong at 3.45 pm, yeah I was trying to be ? funny, oh well. I’m sitting at home deliriously happy with the season just gone, amazed that some are finding faults with it even while the noise of Saturday and Sunday, Saturday in particular, is still making my ears ring. In truth I’m the happiest of clappers. Just no very good at satire.
