McLeish frank admission, Aberdeen get it right. Will we?

1909

BBC’s series, Scotland’s Game, has become compulsive viewing. Tales of redemption for Celtic, Hearts and others, and tales of woe for some. Last night’s episode had a few remarkably frank admissions.

One which caught the eye was former-Rangers former-manager, Alex McLeish, who admitted his title winning team “would’ve been behind [Celtic]” had they not funded their squad through EBTs. We should all take note for when the Big Tax Case reaches the Supreme Court.

Pleased to see the appropriate amount of damage done to Rangers by majority owner and chairman, David Murray, was correctly attributed, with one or two character defects throw in for good measure by contributing journalist, Tom English.

Aberdeen have nailed their proverbial flag to the mast this week with the word, “No previous meeting found” on their fixture list comment on a forthcoming game against Newco. It’s a simple comment, it’s accurate, has been confirmed in writing by Uefa and will position the club shoulder-to-shoulder with their fans.

Get it right, Celtic.

fred – will at it to my beer bucket list – now having westmalle trapist – this the worst conglomeration of words i’ve ever written but it might be better than guinness!!!!!!!!

    ——————————————————-

The Trappist beers are lovely – and deadly! Remember my first experience. Went to Belgium for a beer festival with a mate. Arrived in Bruges and went out for a few drinks the night before the festival. Got talking to the local barman. He gave us tips on beer and we gave him tips on buying a kilt – he was coming to Scotland for a wedding. Tried numerous beers that night. We never made the festival…

I see that Brendan said that he wanted another creative midfield player, not a holding one.

    ——-

Hmm, maybe he’s must being clever. He knows we are strong in that dept so nobody gives it a second thought. Where as if he said he was looking for a defensive midfielder that would indicate a weakness in that area….

  3. Goudener Carolus. Belgian dark beer about 8%. Award winner and nae wonder.

    On draught, magnificent.

Me and shades jnr both have season books, his is a concession due to only being 15, mine full price Adult which gains me entry to every home league game plus 2 others , why should I not attend on the 10th????, for a start if I miss the zombie games it pushes up the price of attending the rest of the games.

And I have said it on here before,

I will be taking Jnr Shades to watch the team his grandfather brought me up to support .

Something the Zombie hoards cant do.

    While I am on the subject….daftness etc….

Why is the Irish cabinet going to use Irish tax moneies to appeal a 13 billion euro tax windfall(apple)….???

It’s not really daft. It’s about sovereignty. Ireland is eager to maintain its taxation attractiveness to foreign companies. But no country is sovereign or independent when they are a member of the EU.

I wish them well, as thousands of jobs in Cork may have their long term futures dependent on this appeal.

Why the hell should you apologise on a Celtic forum for going to a football match to support your team?

I am going to the game next Saturday, along with a mate, my two sons and a nephew. I am thoroughly looking forward to the game, just as I looked forward to the Aberdeen game, and the Hapoel Be’er Sheva game, and the Astana game, and the Lincoln Red Imps game, and the Leicester City game, and the Wolfsburg game. See the pattern?

We’re going to get this regularly across the next seven days. Sanctimonious pillocks slaughtering Celtic supporters and calling them names for going to the big game and for having the teremity to look forward to it.

I couldn’t give a rat’s arse. I’m going to see Celtic. I don’t go to see the opposition. I hope and expect Celtic to hammer them and I will celebrate it with gusto. A few pints of it. Hell, I celebrated last Saturday night with my winnings after we thrashed Aberdeen.

I certainly won’t be losing any sleep worrying about what a few Old-Firm obsessed half-wits on here think.

    Bring on the The Rangers.

One of the great recent developments is the opportunity to study online at some of the world.s great universities. Bearing in mind some of the more recent offerings on here I thought I might draw attention to one starting in a few weeks.

    Harvard University (edx); offers for example;

    Jury X

    Deliberations for Social Change

‘Deliberate emotionally charged issues with your peers online without fear or rancour, and experience a system by which a jury or any community can move from a place of deep division to agreement and action’

Absolutely. Unfortunately I won’t be in Glasgow , but if I was home I would definitely be going and I would be really looking forward to it. My ST will however be put to good use.

It could even be argued that Celtic supporters not supporting their team could be detrimental to our performance on the day and subsequently hinder Brendan ‘s plans.

Everybody, but everybody is aware that our fans support can be vital and some even argue our support can be viewed as the 12th man. Why would we jeopardise that.

the true sad tale of Kirks son, who was often on his uppers, couldnt make it as an actor and turned to stand up comedy.

one night in LA a particularly cruel audience was giving him a hard time about his routine.

    he cracks

“you guys show me some respect, do you know who i am ?”
