Midfield protection

930

While Neil Lennon’s mind will be more engaged with preparations for next season than SPL results between now and then he will be a bit alarmed at how porous his midfield has been recently. Celtic have been leaking goals at the back in an alarming manner but the cover from midfield has contributed most to the problem.

Injuries have been disruptive but it’s surprising that the team shape has not been maintained, irrespective of who is playing.

I’ve been ruminating over the Hun accounts for a wee while now

Given that they are leaking £1m per month at the moment ..I’m not sure how much longer they can go on …particularly if their incomings remain similar to this season

Should the reconstruction go thro and they remain in the bottom tier …this will affect their ability to generate an increase in income ..ST money remains the same , I assume their sponsorship is weighted in favour of them playing further up than the bottom tier

Besides which their squad is dreadful and needs major investment …which they can’t afford …will the hordes put up with another season of dross..I doubt it

IMO they’re stuffed unless they can wangle their way into spl2 …no wonder Greengo is fawning after PL

  11. Midfielder who contributed little to the game and was subbed is interviewed. Because of who he is (Mr Posh)

Roy Keane is a hypocrite. Since when is a wrong offside decision “a bit of luck” that was deserved. It’s a wrong decision, so it’s just plain wrong!

Don’t think that was a deflection. Looked like Valdes had commited too early.

He has been hanging about TV/Radio stations in Scotland like a bad smell! He has been summariser in many of our CL games and is always grovelingly complementary to the team, the manager and the club in general. Must admit every time I hear him I keep thinking he’s looking for another invite.

    Had his chance, blew it.

  14. ….PFAyr, even if they get to start next season in an un-reconstructed league next season, the SFL Division 2, how much more would they be able to charge for a season ticket?

Would the extra amount cover the amount they are haemorrhaging at present, monthly, never mind this years losses?

  15. Richie,

True about Keane, how many times did he abuse refs if opponents got a little bit of luck

McCoist more than anything will affect their ST sales for next season. He will have the opposite influence this summer than he did last. They will walk away in their droves rather than watch the dross they have been forced to watch this season. Why would anyone buy a ST, they could walk up and pay at the gate for about £15 to the games they fancied, which will be not many if they are in the 18 team National League

Interesting quote from Chuckles this evening

“We need to start running a tighter ship because we know we won’t be in the top division next season.’

    Thanks for reply.

You suggested I wanted a Mgmt change, I did not say that, what I wanted was a support structure which is capable of identifying to the Manager, without repercussions, when he is making changes or persisting with formations not working.

Yes I do believe Danny,Johan, and Gary, fall into line.

However its all about opinions, and my opinion is supported by the stats, which say we have shipped 30 points to date.

Could you imagine the Stinkies with Sally and that squad in the SPL …they’d get roundly stuffed by most

  22. Che, ….PFAyr, agree with you both, they are being less than straight with the figures, and they are not adhering to any business model that is sustainable.

If NFL left I’d take Coyle in a minute. The EPL is where everyone, Celtic included, aspire to, so I don’t think he should be damned for wanting to stay there.

Coyle has served his time and then some.
