Midweek change for Celtic

Busy article today, watch out for notes at the bottom on:

Magners ticket competition for 27 December
Mary’s Meals Malawi school kitchen appeal
CQN Annual, final few posting days before…..
CQN Christmas Raffle – winners have been drawn

One of the resources Ronny Deila has been short of since taking over is training days.  Players have stamina, fitness and speed training work to do every week, while there’s rest time before and after games, so time to work on technical aspects are a premium.

Believe it or not, this is the first midweek Celtic haven’t had a game, or players away on international duty, since the second week of July.  The manager has spoken of how difficult it has been to carry out the extensive tactical changes he has introduced spending only stolen minutes working on them.  The January break will give him another opportunity to spend hours with the players on tactical work.

Apparently newco are keeping McCoist as some kind of blubber human shield for Monday’s AGM!  Nice one.  There’s nothing degrading about that, very classy in fact.  Really disappointed for Ally, I’m sure he could almost taste the £400k he’s counting on – to go quietly.  Let’s hope he puts on a show on Monday and they sort him out thereafter.

It’s almost worth buying a newco share to get along on Monday.  Almost.

It’s been a while since I’ve paid any attention to the man who’s apparently lined-up to replace McCoist next week, Billy Davies.  After his interesting second stint at Nottingham Forest ended earlier this year, The Guardian wrote:

“[Davies] has paid the price for failing to control a personality which latterly seemed to have crossed the border into downright paranoia.

“[He] could never quite escape his self-destructive insecurities.”

It’s not often you read a national newspaper liberally speculating on the mental health, or lack thereof, of an individual.

Failing to control his personality, downright paranoia, self-destructive insecurities!  He’s perfect.  Is there a job in the land this guy is more suited for than newco’s manager?

Our pals at Magners have kindly offered a pair of premium seat tickets to the Jock Stein Stand at the home game on 27 December in support of our Mary’s Meals appeal.  You can win the tickets by email me at celticquicknews@gmail.com the answer to the question:

Who do Celtic play on 27 December?

Competition closes at 22:00 tonight (Thursday) so get your entry in.

If you’re entering the competition please consider donating £1 to Mary’s Meals here, where we are hoping to build a kitchen at a school in Chibwata, Dowa, Malawi, for their 909 children.

I’d a look at John Guidetti’s interview with Magners this week, he looks like he’s enjoying himself……..

We’ve drawn the CQN Christmas Raffle, winner of the Special Whisky and CQN Package is ticket number 976, from a lucky reader based in Lythm, we’ll be in touch.

The four runners up all win CQN Packages with ticket numbers 1072, 974, 1190 and 1051, check your tickets, we’ll be in touch soon.

Still time to order your 2015 CQN Annual for Christmas.

You can also order the CQN Annual and DVD bundle here. It’s a great offer, check it out – oh, and there’s tons of photos, fresh stories and comment on the first time Inter faced the green and white hoops.

Kit – DD made his statement, and we all know what he said. Most of us don’t agree with his sentiments – but there are disagreements on here every day.

We all express our opinions, why should it be any different when DD does it?

  2. KevJungle:

The new CQN is a product of cliques and liars. Gone are the days when ‘the truth’ was tried to be told and individuals were taken to task for hearsay and gossip… now it reigns.

Maybe Geordie is right, maybe it’s time I took my cynicism away and left the happy clappers to clap away to the grave like demented retarded happy clappers.

Leave the stage to those who wish to exchange personal’s as our club dissolves.

    How low can we go?

  3. Steinreignedsupreme:

DD is entitled to his opinion, I don’t dispute that and I would not have it any other way, and when he states his opinion I believe he means what he says.

That is my point, he is happy with the bigot pound, so be it, because he is, that’s most likely the way it’ll be.

But his ethical/moral standards are his alone.

  4. “Maybe Geordie is right, maybe it’s time I took my cynicism away”

    Kit,

    Are you ok today?

I didn’t tell you to leave. I said start your own blog and make leaders to your own agenda.

I think you can do this legally. Maybe James Forrest, Big nan and Moonbeams can confirm.

  5. Geordie Munro:

The “feck off” was me just paraphrasing.

How many times does DD have to repeat what he said before you believe what he said – he meant?

  6. Happiness is a state of Mind.

I have massive cognitive dissonance about Celtic right here, right now.

I guess I’m just finally growing up.

    Oh to be childlike again.

  7. KevJungle – “RFC / SFA / Scottish establishments biggest fear is that – one day – Celtic Football Club will be run by rebellious Celtic fans who – dont – kow-tow to a hun establishment”. Simples.

I think the quote was all the money is “reinvested in the team” – or some other very ambiguous phrase that meant other team expenditure than just transfer fees could be included. It is entirely their fault that most took it to mean it would all go purely to transfer fees.

On the attendance. There’s a choice seats sold or bodies through the turnstile. If they report they former they’re accused of masking declining attendances. If they report the latter they’re accused of masking the income being received. I suppose they could report both. Just to keep you happy.

  8. Geordie Munro;

I think I’ll stay right here. And to answer your concerns… I’m okay, I hope you are too but I do sincerely fear for the ethos of our club under it’s present leadership ifthat is okay with you. It is okay with you if I have honestly held concerns for my club… our club?

Or should I just go away as you suggest?

Nah mate I’m staying get used to it. Oh and I’ll wear only the one skin too Franz Kaffka.

We can’t even call them Rangers 2012 as that is the official title of the old club.

    Hang on-suppose we did?

Someone would have to correct us on it,and draw the distinction to explain it.

I like it. Go for it,Pete!

I expect he meant what he said as well. I’d imagine he has few scruples, given his financial status … ‘you den’t get to be a billionaire, ect, ect, ect…’

That’s his view, I can’t say I lose sleep over it, and I’m sure you don’t either.

Like the majority of Celtic supporters, I am perfectly content with how things panned out.

Kitalba. He said it on SSB on the radio if you wanted to it should be easy enough to ring the show and ask him about it. I hope this helps. H.H.

He claimed that it was for the safety of anyone connected with Celtic.

You know, or should by now – the level of respect and admiration that I have for you.

When a fellow poster starts to get or, resorts to getting personal then, you know that the truth is now on outsider – looking in.

But, when the poster that your conversing with, starts to get twisted, and becoming almost as though they are recruiting for the local dark-arts society in that, they no longer wear their veils to hide their contempt of you or any point you may hold then ye can only conclude that – like the Celtic….CQN has become a ‘plastic’ immitation of something that used to be very special and touched us so powerfully….those days, sadly…are gone.

Take care kitalba – your place will always be assured in Kev’s Jungle.

Easy, but expensive. Given KITALBA’s current location.

I doubt the call would pass screening anyway, following legal advice-shut up and it’ll go away,Shug.

  16. I heard with my own ears Brian Quinn say that they would be back and it couldn’t come soon enough for him.

I have it on good authority that Scott Brown wants them back and can’t wait to play them.

Scott Brown also stated that all of the players feel the same way that have experienced the fixture.

Me ? I don’t miss them one bit.

But it is my strong opinion that Ashley is not here to play games.

He will brush aside the token SFA resistance to his control.

When he gets a buyer for Newcastle ,he will increase his control, and they will be as well funded ( if not better) than Celtic.

It is wishful to think otherwise.

    IMHO.

    +++++++++++++++

It is a distinct possibility and as long as the funding is fair, i.e no unserviceable loans or having players on higher wages on loan because Newcastle are paying the higher balance or using dodgy tax schemes then we take our chances.

But if its back to financial chicanery it will be back to the bad old days
