Miku, Lassad and Ambrose need to stretch legs

842

If you are going to Celtic Park tomorrow you will see a lot of photos like the one above.  Outside the ground 200 bucketeers will be collecting to raise money to send Oscar Knox for treatment for neauroblastoma.

Be prepared.  Bring spare cash with you, have it ready and do your bit for Oscar.

For the second week in a row we take on the team at the bottom of the table; see how that worked out last week.  After an awful August which saw Dundee’s return to the SPL marked with one point and no goals scored from four games, they picked up three points at Tynecastle before losing a lead late in the game against Motherwell last weekend.  Manager Barry Smith will have watched how St Johnstone went about their business six days ago and will believe his team can nick something at Celtic Park.

Neil Lennon (and some of us) will welcome the drop in intensity from Wednesday’s Champions League tie as Celtic are likely to give game time to those who joined the club three weeks ago.  Miku, Lassad and Ambrose all need to stretch their legs.

Big shout again for the guys raising money for Celtic Youth Development through TicPick.  It’s £1 to enter and you win £1000 for predicting 10 results.  I’ve gone for Celtic to beat Dundee, West Ham to beat Sunderland, Aberdeen and Motherwell to draw, Man City to beat Arsenal, St Mirren to beat Killie, Dundee United to beat Hearts, Man Utd to beat Liverpool, Hibs to beat Inverness, Chelsea to beat Stoke and Spurs to beat QPR.

You were close but you forgot the golden rule and that is that zombies are not responsible for any of their actions because they are …..well zombies. You forget the old zombie diplomatic rule which states “itwusneyus” that which translates as, blame old zombies we are new ones, blame new ones we are the old ones apart from the bad bits.

A zombie was sentenced to death today by firing squad after he was found guilty of trying to be human

A witness reported while feeding on what was left of a barbers leg the accused said “I want to be human Im sick of eating this sh*t”

His execution will be at dawn and tickets can be booked at most participating graveyards

  4. Best of luck to the Wee Oscar bucket volunteers tmw. Hope you raise more than my Small Change campaign each – if you do Oscar will hit the 250k tmw, with other events still in the bag then he’ll smash his target and a huge percent down to proper Celtic fans. My customers (mainly elderly Dublin) have taken the Wee Mans wristbands to heart, they are all rooting for Wee Oscar like they did in the past for my Wee Conor, great people #HH

    You inveterate madman.

Scott Brown has improved season on season (unlike Sammi, who was always great – it took some longer to see the light) and is now 2nd by a whisker to Wanyama as our best CM. Hopefully, he’ll continue his trajectory and fulfill his promise.

By the way, do you remember the time he came on in the away leg v Dynamo Moscow? It was the last 15 mins and he played behind the striker, Sammi – it was an improvised decision by Mowbray but it worked a treat. Brown was brilliant. Why can’t managers recognize a happy accident and turn it into a strength?

I agree, Scott is a very versatile player and he really upset Dynamo that night because, and Wednesday night was another example, he has incredible energy and IMO is getting better all the time. I just hope he becomes injury free.

Bill McMurdo, I loathe and despise him, he was the agent of a former hero of mine – Mo Johnston. I still believe, to this day that he orchestrated Johnston defection to the Huns, and on a personal note the little boy in me died that day.

Sorry -just reading back and saw this – great post – one of the days that tears at your heart – a real ‘splitting up with your first love’ moment. I remember the gut churning feeling to this day. I have trully hated both of the wee sh!tes ever since, and that is the first time I remember ever feeling that particular emotion :-(

Thing is I’d still argue Brown is a poor player, I know he did great those last 20 mins against Benfica but he’s the type of player that is the poster child for what’s wrong with our game.

Wednesday night Brown won the ball in midfield, looked up and seen Forrest free on the right to start an attack yet Brown played some weird floated miss pass to the Benfica full back. Brown then charged in and tackled the boy awarding Benfica a throw in.

The biggest cheer the crowd gave in that move was Brown awarding Benfica a throw in. There’s something wrong about that.

I remember reading a comment from an Italian player i think in the English league who was stunned at the crowds reaction to a player wining a sliding tackle, or knocking the ball out for a thrown, or even better a corner.

Until we appreciate retaining the ball over winning a tackle we’ll always be lagging well behind the rest of Europe.

No, never heard it being played tho I didn’t have a season ticket when that was out.

Of course not believing in God means you just have the normal day to day stuff to concern yourself with. The heavenly spiritual stuff is rather complicated or easy depending on how serious you take it

Still Gods a chore but I like him and if he is true my each way bet comes off

I’m not sure there’s any need for that type of considered and well rounded analysis at this time on a Friday night. Did you forget the smiley or the GIRUY?

I think there is a place in the game for Scott’s type of energy, and I think there is a player in there somewhere that we see rare glimpses of. Sadly, we’re still waiting for an extended period of injury-free SB to allow a full yes/no decision to be made.

  20. ernie lynch – “People who believe in God are happier than those who don’t. I’ve never met a happy atheist.”

    John Cooper Clarke

    That’s an excellent point.

And I’ve never met a happy atheist either. They seem – especially the New Atheists in the mould of Messrs Dawkins, Hitchens, et al. – to be permanently raging. Raging against God, raging against organised religion (as if disorganised religion is inherently better), raging against the cultural and moral norms that inconvenience their preferred lifestyles.

And for all their talk of humanism there seems to be a distinct lack of charity towards their fellow humans, or maybe I have missed the creation of the atheist version of the Red Cross, or the atheist SCIAF, or the atheist free schools and hospitals.
