Missing Organ Grinder

1063

It took a late goal from Anthony Stokes to secure Celtic’s win at Tannadice in August.  That led to a five match unbeaten run for Dundee United, which ended two weeks ago at Pittodrie before Inverness knocked 10-man United out of the League Cup on Tuesday with a 120th minute goal.

Jackie McNamara has stabilised his team and they are likely to finish in the top three this season, but the defeat on Tuesday, which led to a storm of controversy over the behaviour of Nadir Ciftci, will be a major challenge ahead of United’s trip to Celtic Park.  The champions should win comfortably.

There was little glibness evident in The Herald’s sombre interview with Dave King, published this morning.  Despite apparently getting along famously with antagonists on either of Rangers International shareholding, he was unable to reach a deal, perhaps because he didn’t speak to the Organ Grinder behind the club playing in Rangers colours.

Indeed, neither King, nor anyone else trying to oust, or do a deal with, the current board, knows the ultimate beneficiary behind Blue Pitch Holdings et al.  Is it you?  It’s not me, but I suppose that’s what everyone is saying right now.

That question, is the only show in town.

King wrapped up his comments to The Herald by saying “Over the last two years we have all witnessed the destructive value when individuals, who should be putting the club first, advance personal agendas through the media in an attempt to influence the most important stakeholder in Rangers Football Club – the fans”.

Self-awareness is a rare thing.

Mr King is 100% correct on the destructive influence those who have divided his new favourite club have had.  Without the modestly self-named Blue Knights causing ultimately unproductive havoc, Charles Green’s consortium would surely not have over-paid and under-charged, leading to the situation King believes could lead to administration.  The question now for those on the outside is, do they have the votes, or are they just peeing on the Broxy Bear Burgers?

Knowing him, he will be looking down on Celtic Park. He died on the day of the Cliftonville game. His concern that day, in Drumchapel Hospital, was me getting his wee wireless tuned into 810 mw so he could hear his Bhoys. :)

and another thing….this is my irrelevant, irreverent story for this evening….and this is before the beer.

Best arrest story? My best pal’s brother was standing in the queue at the turnstile at Celtic Park. A police horse stood on his toe. He headbutted the horse! Can anyone better that for complete and utter Glasgow bonker-dom?

    …………………………………………..

That arrest story made me cough and splutter my madras curry over the floor, just got me thinking about my Auld dad, Mick fae the garngad. Around end of centenary season the auld man took his bhoys to the game, Janefield St was heaving, trying to get into the Jungle when the cops horse got spooked, it started to kick off, it’s arse hip area hit my brother battered him against the cemetery wall…

We’ll Well – I’ll never forget the sight of my auld man picking his bhoy up then throwing a right hook into the horses eye – all hell broke out..

I still don’t know how we got out of that, with only the auld man’s swollen knuckles.

Stood at the exact spot before Ajax game with him reliving the story ! What a laugh !
