With 12 days before Celtic are back in action, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Aaron Mooy are now out of the World Cup and will soon be back in Glasgow, rested and ready for action. This afternoon, either Josip Juranovic (Croatia) or Daizen Maeda (Japan) will also be out of the competition, while one will progress to the quarter finals.
Daizen is likely to be eased back into action gradually, I don’t expect him to see our next outing at Aberdeen. Josip is the clear first choice at right back and with Alastair Johnston unable to play until the transfer window opens on 1 January, Josip is the player we are likely to miss most, if his stay in Qatar is extended again.
Winners of Croatia- Japan are likely to face Brazil (should they overcome S. Korea) at the quarter final stage on Friday. If Josip is looking for a move, that would be a perfect theatre to showcase his talents. You might also consider that it does our competitive advantage in the Japanese market any good if Japan continue to beat quality European sides. Maybe best for Croatia to progress.
It’s a stretch, but if Japan or Croatia managed to overcome Brazil of S. Korea, one of them would be in Qatar until the final weekend or the tournament, after Celtic kick off against Aberdeen.

AIPPLE
Hahaha.
Well done Valebhoy
HH .
Did ye aye?
I was lurking.
Loving the whole ‘Engerland will win it’ bandwagon gaining momentum.
From outsiders v France they have themselves with French now running scared of the greatest player in the world Bellingham.
Suits me fine if they see themselves as favourites come Saturday. I am in the racist capital of England on Saturday night ….. few worse places than central Leeds to be watching. The same place I watched Maradona do his number on them back in 86. Hopefully Mbappe and his mates can do it.
I want both teams out, bring our Bhoys home!

C’mon, you can’t go questioning those in authority.
CELTIC40ME much as i hate to say it, over 500 runs on day 1 and declaring eariy enough on day 4 to allow for all possible match outcomes is a refreshing change. At the moment, this approach puts them in front of most, just need the rest to screw the nut and catch up quickly…

Aren’t there only 6 teams playing this game seriously at International level?
You don’t need much to be the best of that lot

There’s no doubt that French midfield are weaker without Kanté and Pogba, who’s a different player in that French jersey. Consequently, they’re even more reliant on their star man.
Still, England were no great shakes against the USA, with whom the Dutch dealt fairly easily. Hopeful, but would rather be confident, of a victory for Les Bleus.

You could say the same about the WC in Qatar to be fair…
Can’t wait for the 17th December. 12 more sleeps.
It’s a long week with the Celts playing.
It’s an even longer week with Engerland playing.
Overconfidence off the richter scale in London Town offices this am.

England defence is suspect and hasn’t been tested against a quality attack. France have Mbabbe, Giroud, Dembele and Griezman. They should be tested.

good luck.

It was more this victory I was talking about. Winning in Pakistan is an achievement in itself, doing it in this manner could only have happened because of an incredible attitude.
They struggled to put a team together because of a virus, they scored at the second and fourth highest rates in test history to give themselves a chance of winning, the declaration gave the opposition a very good chance of victory, all done on a wicket that stayed flat throughout and didnt break up for the spinners. Given the context it was a truly historic victory
It was the most aggressive cricket you’ll ever see in a place where that approach rarely works, 5 days of never stopping.

Last night, for first time in a LONG time, I watched an England match.
Surprising what comes up.
For instance, never thought I’d agree wholeheartedly with Lee Dixon ….
“I can’t wait for the match up between Kyle Walker and Kylian Mbappe”
… but I did last night.
🤔🤔
Who are we supporting today?
Japan for me!
HS
Same here. Be good to see at team outside of Europe/S America making the quarters
Juranovic value might increase, the longer he stays in the tournament
I wish someone would tell these BBC commentators that Maeda doesn’t play centre forward for Celtic.
And he scores.
Daizen scores
DAIZEN Scores the first Goal v Croatia….he was 10/1 with the Bookies…guess whos got him in a Bet ?
