  1. Good words from Big Pierre on Gio.Reckons we have got a bargain.

May be wrong, but are the suits at Hampden not taking legal action against Scotlands shame?.Thought I read that at the time.

Starfelt saying Jullien is looking sharp in training.Fit for the end of October?Hope so.

Mrs TB organizing a surprise Birthday party for me tomorrow on the terrace.Luckily I got wind, and dropped the bombshell on her,Celtic game tomorrow. Now she is frantically rearranging for Friday. Not happy, but trying not to let on.Bless her.

  2. I missed the second half as i headed into town for dinner and then when i stayed up late for Sportscene (can’t record it as just tuned in through dish) I watched sevco and hibs abut then fell asleep and missed the Celtic game!

The SPFL highlights on YouTube have no penalty incident. i saw a bit of a clip online and it looked to me that the ball was falling for Boli but the striker kicked it back onto his hand (and his own). I noticed folks saying on here that we got away with one.

As for Amess’ declaration that he would act as executioner himself I remember Ted Heath’s response to this idea on an earlier occasion.

‘I come next to the point which in recent years I have found more and more worrying and more and more impressive. I refer to condemnation by mistake. I find it impossible to accept a penalty that is irreversible when it is so apparent that a number of mistakes have been made. One of my hon. Friends said on the radio that if no one else is prepared to hang people he is quite prepared to do the job himself—[HON. MEMBERS: “Which one?”] I ask him a rather different question. Because of his views, is he prepared to be hanged by mistake? I am not asking my hon. Friend to reply on the spur of the moment. I shall let him give due consideration to the problem before he finally makes up his mind.’

The Hansard link is fascinating reading.

Even from a cursory run through the various contributions – on both sides of the debate – their quality is evident.

Ergo, no Bolingoli handball, no penalty. Case dismissed. Retrospective yellow card against Motherwell No.9 Van Veen, simulation of volleyball dig.

Thanks Ted. The sleaziest, yet best, Compliance Officer Scottish football never had.
