LISBON LION Jim Craig is the very special guest on the new CQN Podcast – out now!

Jim releases his new book, Right Back to 67, The Lisbon Lion Diary next week and we are pretty confident that this will be regarded as one of the classic Celtic books of all time.

There has been so much written about 1967 in some very fine books to-date but nothing like this. Jim kept a diary of his time at Celtic and in Right Back to 67 he is able to provide the authentic, inside story. It really is too good to miss.

You can order the book now from CQNBookstore.com and you will receive a signed copy. You can also add a personal dedication which is ideal for a Christmas gift. Simply email david@cqnpublishing.co.uk with your dedication after you have ordered and Jim will sort this for you next week.

Jim Craig joined Paul John Dykes and Kevin Graham to discuss the Lisbon Lions’ 50th anniversary celebrations in a year which also saw Celtic winning an invincible treble, a prestigious award from FIFA naming their fans as the best in the world, and even a BAFTA!

In this emotional interview, Jim reminisces about Jock Stein, Billy McNeill, Neilly Mochan, Bertie Auld, Tommy Gemmell, Joe McBride and George Connelly.

He also discusses his latest book, his magnificent Lisbon Lion Diary: Right Back to ’67. This memoir is a real fly-on-the-wall recollection of events from 50 years ago, brought to life by Jim Craig’s intelligent and humorous brand of storytelling. Order HERE.

  1. Yes come on the Hoops! Justice done the Motherwell player should have been off 40 minutes earlier, they should have been down to 9 McHugh should have been off as well .

    Hail hail!!!

  2. Let’s be honest bhoys if that pen was given against us we would be ‘pure ragin’. Be it wasn’t :-)

  3. Silver City 1888 on

It’s very touching that so many of the Motherwell fans stayed back to hurl abuse at the match officials.

  4. the long wait is over on

For anyone feeling at all sorry for Motherwell

    Two things.

That same guy should have been off in about ten minutes into the game.

At least KT can remember this game. He was battered at the same ground in the scottish cup final and the ABERDEEN player should have walked and didn’t.

SS might have gone down a bit easily but no – ones career was put at risk.

    Onwards and upwards.

    Hh.

  5. Canamalar it looks like OCD obsession on

    Oglach,

I’d have been ragin if our defender made such a stupid foul

  6. Well played Celtic, congratulations to Brendan and his Bhoys and to all the staff at Celtic and a special word for our magnificent support..

  8. Well done the Celtic… Mom 49 James Forrest magic strike in the 49 the minute. Awfy braw …

No first tap at the goatee for Mr Thomshun…

    Smiley shiny cup thing…

    Braw

  9. That big hun Craig Gordon let us down again today KevJ, eh?

Well done Bhoys. I expected nothing less but your indefatigability domestically is just wonderful, amazing and fantastic.

    MWD

  10. Well done the bhoys.

Clear penalty. pull on the arm SS gets legs tangled. correct red card though same player could have been red carded in the first half.

Expect a very nasty Motherwell team on ED.

  11. As Sinky himself admits he did go down on contact from Murderwell player. It was only a few weeks ago some on here were complaining at Sinky for not going down and staying on his feet after being fouled and pen wasn’t given. So these things even themselves out.

But harsh sending the big guy off for that but he should have walked first half for his challenge on Moussa. So again these things even themselves out.

    MWD 4 in a row

  12. Nobody on radio or TV mentioning the tackle from Kipre on Moussa it was horrific and a red card after 10 minutes.

  13. I had a peek on Filth Filth a moment ago….they are all wanting Sinclair reported to the Compliance Officer for winning the pen.

NONE of them of course made ANY mention that Mudderwell should have had TWO Guys sent off !

Look back at PSG game at Celtic Park….Cavani won a similar penalty v Jozo….no one said a word about it being “soft”

    ……………….

Not watching Celtic match. Was on Bet365 and seen betting suspended for penalty, and thought I’d check BT Sport (stream runs few mins slow), cause i just knew it would be a dodgy penalty.

Honest to God. That man Thomson needs to be taken to task for his pure bias.

Genuinely couldn’t give a monkey who wins the final – already switched it off…..but there’s a bigger picture of pure corruption here. As we know, it’s not as if the same man wouldn’ blow then change his mind (Jelavic penalty that got overturned??)

Also, we could bring in best manager in our history, invest million on players, and still not be on a level playing field.

Rememer their penalty that never was this season (handball vs St Johnstone) and now this?

    Cheat.

    ,,,

These Huns just don’t have a feckin clue THICK CHUMPS !

Well done The Auld Leather Belts/

Its the 1st time that ANY Scottish club has won 4 Trophies in a row since The Lisbon Lions/

  14. Invincible GG

Aye ye were right it was worth the hastle, as usual with the Tic. Now time for the scratcher, enjoy the rest of your day boys.

  15. Embramike

Was it a penalty and sending off under the rules.

Moving at speed on goal it only takes a touch to stop a goal scoring opportunity.

Sinclair was moving at speed on goal and was touched. What do the rules say?

James Forrest has been transformed this season and the much maligned Craig Gordon did what is the first job of a goalie the only time required, which – shockeroonee – is to keep the ball out of the net.

    Game saver.
