My only flag’s a Celtic flag

492

I get that football thrives where it is a manifestation of tribalism. Across Europe and beyond club flags offer people more affinity with than any national emblem.

But, with one or two exceptions, it’s a largely innocuous brand. We get to wear tribal garb and indulge in our rituals without onerous economic consequence. The echo from the Great Recession, which we are still hearing today, has been a lesson in what can happen when a tribe perceives that its relative position has diminished.

That perception often bears absolutely no relation to reality, but widespread economic illiteracy makes us look like a primitive animals.

My only flag’s a Celtic flag.  You are my only tribe.

    Good Evening All.

Many of you will by now have read the article from the Sports Integrity Initiative.

Others, who were the original supporters of Res 12 and those who provided a mandate to the Res 12 solicitors, will have received a timeline update etc from Auldheid.

As Hen1rik says, the evidence is all there and some of the questions to ask are obvious. Others questions take a little more thought and a little more digging out.

UEFA will not answer any more questions from shareholders, and perhaps the SII article and The Offshore Game reports explain why they are so reluctant.

However, these days, I have only one question and that is this:

Why do the explanations from UEFA, the historical version of events narrated by UEFA, and some of the explanations previously provided by Stuart Regan and other SFA officials, differ in material aspects from the explanations provided directly by Regan to Celtic PLC when they (Celtic PLC) sought clarification from the SFA in relation to the licensing decisions and processes?

    That one baffles me!

Yep; she even had the hypocrisy to quote Scripture and invoke God’s Blessing at the end.

To paraphrase someone from earlier on: is the world a better place because Trump won? Probably not.

Is the world a better place because Clinton lost? Probably it is!

Get what your saying here but essentially the deeper meaning is

Trump getting elected makes the world a harder place to live, but not as hard a place to live if HRC got elected.

macjay ….. KT’s parents are in newcastle, but her sister is in Sydney … but cant remember the name of her neighbourhood … but I dont remember any part of Sydney that I didnt like …. it is one of the loveliest cities I have been too.

dont think we made it to Nelson Bay …. we went inland a bit to where KT grew up (cant remember the name of the town) and spent a few days at a lovely resort in the Blue Mountain … scenery was spectacular!

When KT finally decides to go home for good, she wouldn’t get much of a fight from me! Loved Oz!

We will be here this year for xmas… so going to do a traditional Oz xmas for KT so she doesn’t feel so homesick … so, getting lots of aussie music, LOTS of seafood (although never been able to get the balmain bugs here!) and lots of Cherry Ripe (KT’s favourite) … but, any other thoughts on good oz xmas ideas would be much appreciated!

    cheers.

(Whom dodging whose bullets? Having a laff? Deadly serious?)

HE has just been elected the 45th President of the United States of America – but Donald Trump could have been Rangers owner four years ago.

The controversial billionaire businessman considered a swoop for the Ibrox club in 2012 before Craig Whyte took over and plunged them into administration and liquidation.

It is believed Trump, who has Scottish roots, decided against the takeover after gauging the financial risk.

Speaking at the time a source close to Trump said: “We looked seriously and walked away.

“It just did not make sense to us, although they are a great club.

“We hope someone steps in and builds the team again.”

I read a link to it in Twitter and whilst I hmmmd over a couple of point,s agreed with its general thrust.

Its been pulled by the author probably because of the hmmm points or other reasons, but the reason I suggested it be deleted is that if it does contain inaccuracies then by tomorrow they become accepted facts and if it is republished the differences become points of focus or confusion rather than the final version.

Oz has been marvellous for my family and myself .

You had previously mentioned about it being expensive and would have based that on rates of exchange .

In the last year or so,there have been wild fluctuations in the value of the A dollar. Pick your moment.

Housing in Sydney. Very expensive. Huge boost from Asian , particularly , Chinese buyers.

    Buying off the plan .

    What do they know ?

I feel there may be a levelling and perhaps reduction in property prices coming up. Just my guess.

Oz has major debt problem . If interest rates rise . Who knows ?

Not me. But that`s the chat.

Pavlova dessert . Vegemite . Tim Tams .

Old movies……..The adventures of Barry Mc Kenzie from `72 . They`re a weird mob from `67 ish .

    Feeds into the nostalgia.

I could go on. Just stop me.
