Normal people do not celebrate racism in 12-year-old

185

Today a 12-year-old was charged for shouting a racist abuse at December’s Celtic v Newco game in December.  No normal human being celebrates the discovery of a 12-year-old shouting racist abuse.  This is not how a functional person, football club or society works.  The statement issued by Newco tonight sullies us all.  We share the same soil with people who think like this; how pitiful.

It is regretful that a 12-year-old Celtic supporter has (allegedly) behaved in this manner, but it was a season ticket holder sitting nearby who reported him – for this, we can be pleased.  That the act is so rare we report it, is a great thing.  We should continue to act in the right manner if something similar happens again.  Rise above those living in the gutter and continue to set standards as Celtic supporters.

  1. The only good thing to have come out of this is that our support has done the right thing – it’s a brave thing to do and not something I’m aware of happening elsewhere

Other than that, a thoroughly depressing episode. They want to take everyone down with them

Scottish football had a chance to clean house in 2012.

It chose not to do so.

Can we be pleased that an adult reported a 12 year old child to the Police for, allegedly, shouting racist abuse at a Sevco player?? Assume of course that they 1st tried to remonstrate with the child – ” Shut it ya wee prick” before inviting the Police to intervene?

Not trying to excuse racism in any form but it was from a 12 year old child FFS and they report him to the police.

  7. As for the huns statement – thus is when the pig – wrasslin’ starts…………..

scoddland is happy enouigh to see us demonised and not in the slightest bit bothered abooooot the huns an’ thur horrible history.

  8. I am 1 Celtic fan then, who has no respect for some other Celtic fan reporting a 12 year old boy to police.

Did thus Celtic fan also report the threat slitting gesture of Morelos ?

Or the sectarian signing of the visiting hoardes ?

    Arsehole or holes

  9. ….and no-one in scoddland is prepared to give Celtica any recognition for any positivity.

It’s easier if they just lump us in wi’ thums…..

A chara there are a least 2 of us who think the individual who reported a 12 year old to the Police to be charged with a criminal offense is an utter wan*er of the 1st order.

Agree with you on the one. If the wean was in front of me he would get a mouthful, I wouldn’t be involving the police, it’s not as if buffalo would have heard him unless the wean has a load speaker of course

  12. …….and no, I would not have reported a boy bhoy to the boys in blooooo, for what’s alleged.

    Another approach much preferred.

  13. Imagine this scenario:

Well,it’s the Glasgow derby at Govan, and a torrent of abuse is hurled at say, Jonny Hayes the former Aberdeen

player, now playing his trade with Celtic.I approach Mr.Policeman and tell him that the big,fat guy four rows up,him with the rolled up programme, see him officer well he has abused the Irish guy Hayes non stop since the game started. What would be the nice policeman’s reply?

    A) You wanna stay and watch the game boy?

    B) That’s big Rab….salt of the earth.

    C) Right your’e coming with me.

Watch yourself and keep your phone charged.

  14. Sorry Paul I cannot agree with your leader.

As someone said earlier 2 ST holders have sat through all the abuse from Sevco that day but decided to point out a 12 year old child. Shame on them.

Now they could have had a word with said 12 year old, could have reported it to the club at a later date as no form of racism is acceptable, but this is a child. Ffs

Curiously Paul67 what did the child say??

    Oh you don’t know..

    Strange that isn’t it.

    So wrong on all counts

On the face of it, it seems harsh to have reported the kid to the police. But worth noting that none of us were there so we cant fully understand what happened. Speak to him or his guardian, yes, report it discreetly to Celtic, maybe, Police, no for me.

Mind you – just imagine a similar situation where one of our players is sent off and aims an imaginary gun at their fans – would there be a similar outcome me ? Course not.

    Oligarch,

I remember the smugness we used to read on here about how good the Celtic support were at self regulation. apparently that’s only allowed in corrupt corporations and institutions in the board rooms including out own, its now less hassle to turn Celtic supporters into criminals, that limit their prospects and choices rather than challenge bad behavior. Then again that’s the example provided by the boardroom so you reap what you sew I suppose.

  18. The two guys sticking someone in for racism was mentioned on blog last week……Thought at the time

How the fek does anyone know this? Strange… was it planted?

  19. Why was this story on CQN a couple of weeks ago, and it comes out now?……a conspiracy theory too far?

  20. Canamalar it looks like OCD obsession on

    David17,

Do you think it was Bankier or Lawwell that reported the kid?

I suspect Bankier since he has less tolerance for the Celtic support but then again Lawwell does tend to jump the gun and make statements condemning Celtic supporters before he has any evidence.

  21. Asupporterwhogotlucky on

When a person of influence, has something printed, that they know is a utter rubbish, they are showing their contempt for the general public. They are basically saying, ” I am of the opinion that you are so stupid you’ll believe this utter rubbish.”

  22. I must be a wee bit old fashioned, but what would have been wrong with having a word with the boy, to many people nowadays would rather put their vs halo on to feel good about themselves, now we have the situation where a 12year old boy could get a criminal record, plus he’s now got the media to contend with crazy

  23. NorrieM Totally agree. I find it almost unbelievable that an adult at a football match , especially a glasgow Derby would complain to the police that a child ( for thats what he is ) made a racist comment. Any normal person would tell the bhoy to behave, end of story !! Im looking forward to hearing the story of said sanctimonious p@@@ks complaint to the police for Morelos and Kents little episode ………..Something not right in all this

    Gene,

According to many on here and the lead article, condemning the kid, he’s guilty as sin, no need for a trial just string him up.
