Not interested in your “Where’s the fixtures” patter

488

I appreciate there are people wanting to book flights and other travel arrangements, but I’m not interested in your “Where’s the fixtures?” patter.  No one else cares or is concentrating on who Celtic will play when they win the league, others have thoughts only for the Scottish Cup semi-finals.

Get Sunday wrong and it will be our last meaningful game of the season.  Whether the police are stuck in the last century or not makes no difference, but take our eye off the ball as we prepare for the weekend and things go wrong.  Look at St Mirren for an example of a club and support which spent energy planning a title party but lost to the worst Dundee United team in over 40 years.

Sunday is the only fixture we have. Literally. Keep our heads in the game.

I agree with you. It is sad. I loved meeting Marspapa at the game with his two grandsons. Was always a highlight of my day at the match meeting them all. One of the reasons I wish the tribute act would perish.

Wonder if there would be a positive impact on attendances for the whole league if we ditched TV and went back to 3pm Saturday’s, enough to compensate for lack of TV money?

It would but need to consider brand exposure and the fans who cant attend games for any number of reasons.

Just made that point to my son. I would be all for that idea. My son has recently bought a house so likes to work 5 hours on Saturday mornings overtime. Finishing at 1pm, with enough time for lunch and a pint before the 3pm kick off. Tv is doing my head in, it is driving folk away for varying reasons.

  5. I’m going to say it.

It would not be the worst result to draw with Hibernian, as we could of course be beaten in any game of football, after all we have no divine right to win every game although I hope we do. So if we were draw with Hibs then it could be a GET IT RIGHT UP YEEZ to the establishment, Polis and TV…

But there would always be shortbread, they are good at covering highlights of our games, very impartial :0)

This is a good call considering we receive a relative pittance from league games. For many a huge part of attending football is about the match day experience and the large social aspect this entails.

A Sunday game or a non European night game does not provide this.

BB-All clubs looking for SB renewals just now, yet look at how we have been treated in last few weeks? A real shambles , Friday games, Sunday morning , Wednesday nights, a shambles.HH

I wonder what set of fixtures they would have to come up with before everyone came on and said, “that suits me ” and well done they spfl ???????.

  13. ‘Mon the Hibees – hold us to a draw in Edinburgh.

Force the witless SFA and Polis Scoatland to absorb the depth of their incompetence.

If they didn’t want the Zombies getting pumped for our title win the simple answer was to have it as the second-last match on the Wednesday night 9th May, instead of Killie.

Plenty crucial Hun games have been played midweek – 08’ JVOH drama anyone? – and a dead-rubber at the end of this season would give them no problems.

    Contemptible fools.

Nice to note the cheating Huns, though receiving Kille at the Snake pit for a 3rd time, have been sent to Sheepville and Easter Road last two matches. Could prove crucial to their hopes of a top-4 finish…

The jiggery pokery surrounding the post split fixtures once again highlights the corruption in our game and the collusion of the Celtic board. The Celtic fans have been shafted again.

Cheers G . Never thought anyone took any notice . I could have made a stand , circumstances ruled that out .

This is a good a set of fixtures as we could want.

Aberdeen in Cup Final rehearsal will be interesting a week before maybe.

  20. Going to be back in Scotland the weekend of the 29th April. As the chances of picking up 2 tickets is unlikely, does anyone know what the hospitality situation is? The website has a note saying that the deals do not include games against Sevco.

Do you travel to Celtic Park from Cork, Dublin, Belfast, London or Isle of Lewis?

There are a few guys who post here from these areas, who are regular attenders.

Do you think it is fair on them?

  24. evening bhoys and ghirls, feel for you ghuys over the fixtures, living down here in englandshire, the only games i could attend, was when my big uncle packy used to let me use his season ticket, sadly he has passed away now, so probably only tv now, but the memories of walking up to parkhead will never leave.hh.

  25. Burnley. 6.26

That’s a disappointing post, in my opinion.

You obviously don’t agree with other posters but why the need to name call fellow Celts, who hold a different opinion to you.

For what it’s worth, I don’t think it’s as good a set of fixtures as we could want.

A home game first, to enable our 52,000 season tickets to (hopefully) see us win the league, would have been a priority for me.

    Hail Hail.

  26. BURNLEY78,

What’s so wrong with wanting at least a couple of our home games to be on a Saturday @ 3 o’clock? That would suit most of the support a lot better than Sunday lunchtime.

  27. DAVID66, how are you my fenian brothe, and how is cheeko, frankie and benny are talkin to me now only because they had chicken for dinner, otherwise id be in the doghouse, smiley thing.hh.

  28. Surprised to read posters wanting to win the league against Sevco, I think there would be carnage if that was the case, not worth it in my opinion, beat Hibs and make the huns have to come and watch the 7 in a row champions

  29. GlassTwoThirdsFull on

So, according to the St Mirren fan, “Rangers” have been disadvantaged by the fixtures.

11 home games and 9 away games against the top six and that’s a disadvantage?????
