On Griffiths

Leigh Griffiths problems are significant enough for him to be sent home from the club’s training camp.  While no charges have been made and none may be made, online speculation can jeopardise a successful prosecution.

Whatever you heard happened, this is not the place to repeat hearsay.  Notwithstanding that, it is likely the end of the road for Leigh.

When large crowds are allowed back to Celtic Park, I hope a proper tribute to Charlie Gallagher can take place

Very sad to hear about Charlie Gallagher’s passing. As others have pointed out, he was a cultured inside forward who not only was a great passer of the ball but could produce some fierce shots.

An abiding memory of Charlie Gallagher was the part he played in an epic game against a very good Kilmarnock side in December 1963? The gifted but nonetheless ineptly managed Celts were 0-2 down at the break. Charlie’s promptings helped level the score then in the 86th minute he scored from 30 yards. The ball was never more than a blur until it hit the top corner.

We had all the talent in the world then. But, oh, how it was squandered.

Thank you – nice to see a friendly post.

I agree that all are entitled to post in a respectful manner on here, regardless of their point of view – how boring & pointless if we all agreed HH.

    West Craigs, agree.

I also agree with many points made over the past 24 hours – I have no animus towards their team, especially their manager, who seems a thoroughly decent person.

Their media on the other hand is a different story. It’s. bit like the SMSM and the Huns.

Having said that perhaps they’re entitled to go OTT given it’s their national team . The SMSM on the other hand 🤔

  5. Is the stadium PA at a UEFA international final supposed to play constant songs and anthems which support one particular team?

  6. Not surprised Charlie Gallagher said that all the other Lions reckoned Bobby Murdoch was their best player. As Jock Stein said, when Bobby Murdoch plays, Celtic play. Sheer class. Imo, THE best Celtic player I have had the privilege to watch.

Agreed, thats what the blog is for, posting views on the way we can see things differently, you would think it’s not too much to ask that we can do that and still be polite to one another. Too big a challenge for some.

  8. I was up the city today, out the east end for a while , took a drive to celtic park just for a wee treat for the eyes.

Passed the fan zone 3 times, busy already, huge police precence. There was a group about 10 or so singing Engerland at st enochs, who could possibly be out to cause trouble toonight.

  9. Dreadfull football, as boring as it gets.

Watching an American stream and 66 was mentioned withing the first 20 seconds believe it or not, he has managed to mention it at least another half a dozen times, still my 3-2 for Italy is looking good :)

  10. at least swally’s not commentating – he’ll be wetting his pants with excitement

  11. Early goal has knocked Italy out of their comfort-zone. They’re not used to be chasing the game so early & usual shape has gone – can see England scoring again.

  12. Game is finely balanced – England strong down the flanks – Italy getting bogged down round the 18yd area – can’t find killer opening.

I’d put it evens on the diving count.

Sheesh, terrible game of football. One shot on target and misplaced passes everywhere.

It’s like watching Celtic last season.

  14. That’s the garden watered, hit 52 this after, trust me when I say that is hot please believe me, it’s hot, it’s after ten and it’s still 38, finding it harder year on year, when I first came it was doddle, this age thing sure is a pain at times :)
