Our redoubtable former manager

1226

No one on Celtic Quick News ever doubted Gordon Strachan, did they?

It’s been a long 8 years since that dark week but our former manager demonstrated enormous resilience to win three consecutive league titles and twice qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions League.  He is perfect for the Scotland role, although, to be frank, I didn’t think his squad had last night’s result in them.  Well done to all.

We have a special Father’s Day offer for the Willie Wallace book.  Order between now and Thursday morning and we’ll include a Father’s Day card, complete with your own message. See the big graphic to the right..

You can choose from two cards, see explanation and choices here, one with Tony Watt after scoring against some Spanish lot, the other with Billy McNeill receiving some trophy or other.

Click on the button below, enter the text you would like to appear in the middle of the card, and Tony will post your book off in time for Father’s Day.

  1. Interesting Youtube compilation on Amido Balde, wonder if these tasters are compiled by player agents?

Not convinced that he’s particularly good, any player, strikers especially can be made to look superb, if you put all their goals together.

    Just saw your earlier comment.

I am in good spirits. Thanks for asking.

It’s all about waiting just now. Physically I feel absolutely fine, which might sound strange, but once I have the test results and know the extent of the illness, I and the doctors can make the big decisions as to the way ahead.

My good lady is keeping me from feeling sorry for myself. Not sure I could have handled it without her. An absolute Godsend.

Mr Weir’s additional relationship with Ally McCoist at Rangers and, those Everton connections, will provide a platform for loans.

Weir only needs to get the momentum going at Sheffield United and some of the loyalist fans in football will do the rest.

  5. Balde-probably like everyone else im not overly excited but have to trusy john park and support the player from the off if he signs.

Wes houlihan ? 31yrs old might fancy winning something and playing in europe. Great wee player.

Came up through divisions with norwich so im sure he can hack the rough and tumble. Doubt he be on big wages.

  6. Difficult to judge a player by watching a 13 minute youtube compilation of his ‘best bits(!), ‘tho I’m sure that John Park and the scouting team will have seen Amido Balde ‘in the flesh’ a few times.

If he does sign I hope he turns out like big Pierre, and NOT PA Fortune!

    We can but hope!

One thing about Neil’s strikers-he is very quick to make his mind up whether or not he rates them.

Just ask Bangura,Fortune,Murphy, and one or two others.

Of course,by that time the signing-on and transfer fees have long gone….

    Howdy.

Quite agree – we have landed a few ‘dud’ strikers(sic) over the last few years. Could have been even worse ‘tho if we had signed Jon Daly and Kevin Doyle, to name just two! Apologies to the Irish CQNers!

Thankfully Hooper, Stokes and Watt have chipped in with a few goals.

Btw, many congratulations on your recent podium success!

The 09:42 post from our man on TSFM site.

    ————

    Everyone

Here is the deal. CF material was taken without owners permission. The owners, despicable as they might be, have the same privacy rights as anyone, like the folk whose privacy was violted by Murdoch’s folk.

The consequences of that are a media who are now super careful with regard to sources and the CF stuff to them is toxic and cannot be used on msm. That is as told to me by a journalist whom I respect and trust.

It is that old word agaim “trust: .

It presents itself as an everyday challenge and I’m presenting it now to you and other readers.

In doing so I’m taking the risk that a) you will trust me and

    b) that what I was told was true and my reputation as a trustworthy person will not have been damaged by passing on a lie.

It is certainly more difficult to trust simply from words on a screen but there are other factors that can help -the other persons record of being truthful is a start in the absence of personal contact but I’m prepared to take the risk.

Like it ir lump it the material is kryptonite to our msm supermen (<=== irony) or Supermen.

The way to get this material out there is under Qualified Privilege that is the equivalent of a lead box that MPs have access to.

We need to start writing to them on a Scottish and UK basis and I suggest we use the "tax avoidance by extension using insolvency laws" line to highlight the collusion between the administrators and the owner to suggest a public enquiry into the whole affair including the enabling part played by the national football association.

Any views or better suggested drafts on what could be said are welcome. From that we can form an example of the points folk can make. So I suggest that we park the journos and help them out by a campaign of MP contact.

Who knows even the fact that a campaign is taking place might be reportable without reference to CF material. Whatever Qualified Privilege is the way to go and if someone can find an online definition and paste it for me we can start helping journos and CF ny getting this stuff mainstream.

Surely George Galloway would relish the opportunity to get the CF material out in the open under Parliamentary Privilege?

The logical question LNS could and should have asked Bryson was “have the SFA a ‘failure to declare’ clause in their rules about information supplied regarding registrations, licences, etc?”

The SFA, like many organisations don’t have the resources to investigate registration/licencing applications thoroughly and the sensible option would be to insert such a clause.

Are the SFA incompetent, corrupt or both, now there’s a line of questioning LNS could have pursued about the very people who instigated the inquiry, but then again……
