Prevailing attitude of hunger

1428

Judging by these quotes, John Guidetti may just be the most excited footballer on the planet right now:

“I’m just going to work my socks off…. do my absolute very best…. give 100%.

“The one thing I hate more than anything is losing. I can’t stand it.

“For 90 minutes I am always giving everything.

“You can always expect 100% from your players and I’m going to give that [note the repetition of this assertion].

“I promise I’ll do my very best to do even a little bit of what [Henrik] did.

“Football without fans is nothing, it’s not worth it for me.”

There is a common theme across a few players who joined this summer, they have something to prove.  Guidetti, Mubarak and Tonev each had a difficult time last season, for varying reasons.  They need to hit the mark, whether it’s through form (Tonev), fitness (Guidetti) or simply being able to play in an environment which is remotely normal (Mubarak).

Scepovic is different.  He arrives with the wind at his back, but the prevailing attitude at Lennoxtown should be one of hunger. I suspect this contrasts starkly with last year’s arrivals.

  1. SPFL will dodge the same club decision by regarding this as a first administration event under their jurisdiction

Just sent you kevinbhoy’s email addy and contact details. Forwarded him the email about the two hootenays. He arrives from Qatar tomorrow for a few weeks. Tells me he may even know you. Think he said he was from Kilwinning originally.

Gave him your email addy but can you add him to your email list re-Hootenays and future ones?

  3. if sevco default on their loan payments…. does that not mean that assets such as car park and stadium become the property of the loaners?

I mean a few million to gain assets worth a few million….

    to rent back forever more…

or to sell back for millions upon millions more…

perhaps they actually want a default

  4. Tim Malone Will Tell on

One thing I can never get my head round is why people come onto this site with the sole purpose of squeezing the hope and joy out of life.

If you are a hun, fair enough – if you are a Tim, all I can say is that I am so happy not to be your son or daughter…

  5. I suspect the Ahmed case is a bit of a pantomime , in that it allows the Rangers Directors to get out there , the true cash position. Following on , I would wager the Rangers directors are praying that HMRC throw their hat into the ring (if there are any taxes unpaid) , so they can play ,” we had to sell the ground & training ground to a bunch of overseas fans (who wish to remain anonymous) or the HMRC would take us down again.

    , card.

They will get to the SPL, gazillions in debt and then hope that most of the teams lay down to them for the greater good.

Still, if there is a miscalculation along the way by their suits ( another unplanned financial commitment emerges) then administration is still possible.

  6. FFin’ ideas men are going to pull them through:

“Have been watching Wall Street and was wondering if this would work .

The [Sevco] fans both personal and through [Sevco] First must have about 15-20% of the shares . What if we all sold them at the same time on Monday . Share price plummets and some of the investment trusts take fright and sell . Share price goes down to 10p . Week later we rebuy the shares at 10p-15p .means our percentage increases , gets rid of some faceless investors .

Worse case money sitting for a new share issue.”

  7. This is SPFL Rule E5:

“Where a Club, whether owned and operated by the same or a different Member, suffers or is subject to an Insolvency Event which results in a deduction of points in terms of these Rules and within 5 years of the date of such Insolvency Event suffers or is subject to a further Insolvency Event which is not part of the same Insolvency Process as the Insolvency Event then suffered, the points deduction applicable in terms of Rules E1 in respect of that second or further Insolvency Event, shall be 25 points with the 15 points in Rules E2 and E3 being 25 Points.”

Now, getting by the stuff about Club and Member being thought separate, it specifically states that the increased penalty for a second administration only applies where the first happened “in terms of these Rules.”

So they could argue that the dead club’s administration happened under a different set of rules. There is therefore no need to get into whether the new club is in fact the same club or not.

  8. Gordon_J backing Neil Lennon @ 09.56 hrs.

Technically speaking you are probably correct with the rule book.

However I think a “line in the sand” has been set :-

15 points deduction for a first administration.

25 points deduction for a second administration.

No matter how hard they try to spin, this is the public perception.

I must say although it is a good sideshow and we love seeing them squirm, we have seen it all before and I am underwhelmed.

    HH.

PS : I think Castle Greyskull Sports Direct Arena sounds appropriate until it becomes a supermarket.

  9. Oh dear, Billy McNeil and Bertie Auld promoting the Union. Gutted that they’re doing this in our name. Actually, more correctly, they’re doing it in the name of a non-existent old firm. Seems they feel a need to continually attempt to resuscitate something built purely on poison, hatred & bigotry which met its end through greed, contempt and an overwhelming sense of entitlement.

I do have difficulty reconciling erstwhile reasonable thinking people sharing a platform with such as the orange order, BNP, UKIP etc, but the man who gave us the greatest moment in our history hand in hand with the irrationally ignorant Bomber Brown leaves me completely bewildered.

  10. Kev. Keep up the fight. Someone within our club must be held responsible for the lack of new players for CL qualifiers

If we are indeed a business loss of income to the tune of 20m must have heads rolling

  11. Am I the only one concerned about mike Ashley’s involvement with the huns ?????

He has far too much money for my liking………and let’s be honest wouldn’t really need to use too much to get the better of us at the min …….

I would rather he would just GTF….

Are Bertie and Billy barred from airing an opinion?

Yet everyone else seems unable to stop airing their own?

It’s an important issue for us. Opinions should be heard, the same as arguments should be made.

Good luck wi silencing Bertie,in particular.

  13. There’s a sense of anticlimax when you get a rookie manager , pumped out of CL ( twice), a poor league start, a disappointing transfer window followed by an international weekend…

Still at least Hunco are providing a silver lining.

No I haven’t seen any of Paul’s film and so I can’t comment.

There is only one thing you can say with any certainty about the Rangers situation and that is that there is absolutely no certainty about who or what is going to happen next!

Make no mistake, there have been those who have passed through the doors of Ibrox in the past 2 years who, I kid you not, would sell their wife and family for a deal.

    One did precisely that!

Ahmed, Green, Hughes, Whyte and various others are a completely different type of beast to the Easdales and so on who are there at the moment.

In all truth, the great problem with Sevco ( and I do mean Sevco ) is that D&P did not cover themselves with corporate glory in setting out the sale of the business to Charlie, and in turn the bold Charlie chose a blind deaf and dumb nomad with regard to going to the stock market.

The result is that there is no certainty as to who owns what absolutely outright free from contracts written up on the back of a fag packet or a toilet roll, and all of that relies on Craig Whyte not having drawn up similar contracts before or after he taped every conversation he ever had with anyone.

It is for that reason no one will lend, only the barely intelligent will invest, and the already duped will do what they can to save the existing company.

It is more of a mess than could ever have been imagined.

One way out is to keep banging on about how much of a mess it is, make it an even bigger mess if you can and then offer to put everyone out of their misery by buying the whole thing at a knock down price or by forcing it into Administration or Liquidation carrying enough cards to force a sale to yourself.

As for Imran, he will be receiving an offer with six zeros on it just to go away.

They are literally in Dire Straights …………. Money for Nothing

  15. Vinnie

As long as Newcastle remain in EPL Mike Ashley’s influence will be marginal. If he sold Newcastle, I’d worry but I wonder what’s left of Hunco to take over. Even the sane Huns now realising that they are fecked and that the assets have probably already been sold or pawned.

Makes me wonder why a clearly impassioned Bomber Brown didn’t completely spill the beans at the time. If he knew Ally knew?

Of course. I agree debate is needed. Opinions are wide and varied. My opinion is my own and I promote it in my name only.

Or am I not allowed to opine that I disassociate from others who attempt to associate their opinion with something I cherish?

I had to laugh at Clyde SSB last night & how they feel sorry for the ordinary Sevco fans, well sorry they wanted to keep the same club myth alive, they didn’t follow the correct procedure whilst in Administration & outspent other teams to gain promotion so get it right round them.
