Prevailing attitude of hunger

1428

Judging by these quotes, John Guidetti may just be the most excited footballer on the planet right now:

“I’m just going to work my socks off…. do my absolute very best…. give 100%.

“The one thing I hate more than anything is losing. I can’t stand it.

“For 90 minutes I am always giving everything.

“You can always expect 100% from your players and I’m going to give that [note the repetition of this assertion].

“I promise I’ll do my very best to do even a little bit of what [Henrik] did.

“Football without fans is nothing, it’s not worth it for me.”

There is a common theme across a few players who joined this summer, they have something to prove.  Guidetti, Mubarak and Tonev each had a difficult time last season, for varying reasons.  They need to hit the mark, whether it’s through form (Tonev), fitness (Guidetti) or simply being able to play in an environment which is remotely normal (Mubarak).

Scepovic is different.  He arrives with the wind at his back, but the prevailing attitude at Lennoxtown should be one of hunger. I suspect this contrasts starkly with last year’s arrivals.

When a huge wrecking ball smashes feck out of the glorified victorian lavvy on Edmiston Dr. That day I will rejoice, not before.

Sevco were on the verge of admin in April.

They borrowed £1million from Letham to keep the lights on

at the Mike Ashley dome until the ST money came in.

The ST money was way short of what is needed to keep the lights on

at Sports Direct arena for the rest of the season.

Letham now needs to be repaid.

Today’s judgement puts them on the precipice.

    Administration is the only option.

The writing was on the wall back in April.

The biggest scandal is the SFA/SPL allowed this obvious

financial car crash to happen aided and abetted by their

    friends in the media.

    My admiration to all concerned.

    ____________

Yep, the writing has been on the wall, the question I asked earlier, who manipulated it?

Dave king persuaded 30% 0f the huns not to renew their season books when they moved into the new format, that would be a lot more entertaining than what they have witnessed in the first two seasons of their inception.

Divide and conquer seems to have worked for someone….who?

Let’s not be naive when it comes to thems, there is an agenda on this decision today.

For domestic away games Celtic don’t send out ‘offer’ letters, that practice stopped years ago.

To obtain tickets for away games you need to purchase tickets that are available on a first come first served basis. Usually these would be games away to Motherwell, St Johnstone, Dundee Utd and Kilmarnock.

You then need to hope that there are left overs from games with a higher demand and smaller allocation.

After a period of time you’ll start to get offered tickets for games which are ‘balloted’ and these will include Easter Rd, Tynecastle, Ibrox etc.

  6. From the interweb…….

Arsenal are also continuing scouting missions into the autumn, with Celtic star Virgil van Dijk on the agenda.

The Dutchman has been in incredible form for the Scottish champions since making the move to Glasgow and has been linked with several Premier League clubs this year.

Arsenal reportedly made a late bid to sign the player on transfer deadline day and are now keeping close tabs on his progress in the Scottish capital.

That was ma wee mammy’s song, it always sets me off now. I find it very poignant as a middle aged husband and father whose immediate family are blessed with good health to consider the lyrics from her perspective as a young widow, the love of whose life was taken from her (and me) in the prime of his life.

Our ways are not Gods ways….

It’s been good on here tonight, God bless us all.

Backed your last tip Intrinsic so thanks for that

However that Betfred Sprint at Haydock is a very competetive race and I know from a pal with a connection in Lynams yard that they are very bullish about Sole Power (3/1) fav

Also last years winner Gordon Lord Byron has to be respected

Good luck with your selection though

Yes I understand all that you say and also did so at the time.

I did take tickets for the ‘diddy’ away games for many years but the decent ones never really seemed to come our way for some reason

I don’t go away now and can put my finger on the former Sky practice of 6pm Sunday nights as the final straw.

  12. Those at the helm of our club have attempted to

manoeuvre us through troubled waters with some success.

However like most big organisations they have tried to affiliate themselves with those in

positions of power at the expense of the people who really matter.

What will happen now is either those in positions of influence will listen to the

supporters or the supporters will continue to drift away.

Support the supporters and bring back the GB.

Last night as he looked back on a decade as Rangers’ owner – come this Sunday, the 22nd, it will be 10 years since he paid Lawrence Marlborough £6 million for the club – Murray’s desire to avoid the miseries of another barren season could not be disputed.

To hear him speak was to listen to a man who believes himself to be charged with some kind of great and mighty mission. Murray, who chose to talk only to the Record about his dreams and ambitions for Rangers, said: “No one should doubt that Rangers are the biggest club in the country, but I know that talk is cheap in this business and that we will have to prove just how big we are.

“That doesn’t really bother me because as long as I am able to influence this club we will be the biggest and we will be the best. “I have spent 10 years of my life, and I know that sometimes I gave up too much of myself to Rangers, but I am not about to give up now.

“Neither am I willing to stand aside and allow another club to overtake Rangers. The failure of last season hurt me a lot and that pain was something I didn’t need nor want.

“It is also a pain which I never want to suffer again, but by God that sort of thing just makes me even more determined to succeed. I am still as driven, still as enthusiastic and I will welcome the challenge of anyone out there.”
