Rangers, streetwalkers of football, face their deadline

778

There’s something undignified at the shenanigans at Ibrox right now.  Despite being under no pressure to pay the disputed tax demand, Rangers are tarting around their top player in a desperate attempt to raise money.

After the Plus Stock Exchange suspended dealing in their shares the club stated it would produce overdue accounts for season 2010-11 around the end of this month, which coincides with the end of the transfer window.  Any auditor needs to be in a position to state that the company has enough cash to be considered a going concern before he would be in a position to sign-off the accounts.  Rangers are now in a desperate bid for cash as their self-imposed (late) date to provide shareholders with statutory information has arrived.

Claims were made that a front-loaded war-chest was made available to Ex-Rangers manager, Ally McCoist (still too early?  Hmmmm) at the start of the season and it was subsequently suggested that a £9m bid was rejected for Nikica Jelavic, but now the same player is available for a fraction of that sum – available for cash, that is.

McCoist kept their season alive but as reality dawn and Neil Lennon’s Celtic turned up the heat, his challenge abated.

The trusty old media, for so long a crutch throughout Rangers rather unique history, are set to desert the White Star Line’s most famous vessel.  The day draws near.

    P67,

    don’t want to spoil the fun, but this transfer window has been such a barrel of laughs that I fear – if THE DAY happens as this window ends – the combination could pose a serious health risk to many of your posters. All of this, on top of a 17 point swing in the league, could mean that many an ould liver will be hammered like it has never been hammered before – and I know what before was like. Think of the children!

    TURNING and turning in the widening gyre

    The falcon cannot hear the falconer;

    Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;

    Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,

    The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere

    The ceremony of innocence is drowned;

    The best lack all conviction, while the worst

    Are full of passionate intensity.

    Surely some revelation is at hand;

    Surely the Second Coming is at hand.

    The Second Coming! Hardly are those words out

    When a vast image out of Spiritus Mundi

    Troubles my sight: somewhere in sands of the desert

    A shape with lion body and the head of a man,

    A gaze blank and pitiless as the sun,

    Is moving its slow thighs, while all about it

    Reel shadows of the indignant desert birds.

    The darkness drops again; but now I know

    That twenty centuries of stony sleep

    Were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle,

    And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,

    Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?

    The 23-year-old has netted 17 times this season for the Hoops to attract the attention of the Russian club.

    The Republic of Ireland international joined Celtic from Hibernian in 2010 and also had spells at Sunderland and Arsenal during his career.

    Lokomotiv are currently sixth in the Russian Premier League.

    I am about to do an Adam, so don’t shoot the messenger

    Incredibly good source, with a very significant connection to the old Rangers regime tells me this is what has happened

    Whyte has forward sold 3 years worth of season book income. The anticipated value of this income was £41,000,000. The amount advanced to Whyte was circa £31,000,000. He used this to pay off Lloyds and provide working capital for this season. The reason the season tickets are being renewed early is because it was a condition of the forward sale

    The European and CIS results have blown a hole in the budget. With EL money and a reasonable run in the CIS, then Rangers could have got to season’s end. Paying season 2 early took most of the risk out for Close, and the creation of a first ranking charge for £5 million gave them a guaranteed modest profit at worst.

    The lack of EL and CIS income is forcing player sales.

    My source also tells me that he believes if no significant player sales then receivership is likely in Feb.

  18. Real Zaragoza has today reached a definitive agreement for the termination of the contract of Efrain Juarez Mexican player. The player thus return to Glasgow Celtic.

    Aragon joined the club when his compatriot Javier Juarez Aguirre was on the bench. Then left out of the template also extra Ivan Obradovic. After replacing Manolo Jiménez Aguirre, Juarez has lost its tab for the Serbian market by taking advantage of winter.

    Zaragoza is grateful for the willingness and professionalism while serving in the Mexican Zaragoza and wanted to wish you success for the future.

    I have been told they have had to pay Celtic compensation of a couple of hundred grand.

    I hope we resist the temptation to sell Stoksie whom I think has been an excellent player for us and a component part of the team.

  21. Anto Stokes to Moscow – Down with that sort of thing. I would be very surprised if we would even contemplate selling a guy who has netted 17 times this season let alone for a paltry 3 million
