I have witnesses to saying “We’ll have to settle for five instead of seven”, when hearing Leigh Griffiths would miss out today. Dembele (20), put in a performance which defied his inexperience. He looked like the £20m player some think we’ve signed. What’s more, he’ll continue to improve.
Tom Rogic had clearly been identified as our most dangerous creative player. He was hacked throughout, before retiring early in the second half. Scott Brown and Nir Bitton were also on top of their game, controlling the crucial central area.
Both full backs, Mikael Lustig and Kieran Tierney, got assists, as they created width to allow the central players to do their stuff.
Brendan Rodgers will hopefully highlight that the only two attempts on goal we conceded came a moment after we scored, near the end of each half. Teams notoriously lose concentration after scoring.
I’m off to find out who their no. 4 was. I’ve him down for two assists on his own. Liabilities, to a man – the keeper apart, who did well.

hearing that in order to have a competitive league and a strong ‘Rangers’ it is crucial that all other teams keepers aren’t allowed to handle the ball.

We continue our fine scoring record this season and despite being a new club the team from govan brought a style of diving and feigning injury that was all so reminiscent of those infamous cheats of old.
I thought the Zombies banner display at half-time was revealing.
Three huge red, white and blue banners:
1) Rangers Loyal, with the legends “Haghill Powery” and “Ruchazie Loyal”.
2) Larkhall Loyal.
3) Then the pièce de résistance, (presumably North) KOREA RSC.
Anyway, My question is which area is the most benighted ?
Two thoughts occured to me earlier
1. We are only going to improve as they implode.
2.the have to pay senderos’s wages for a year
Was disappointed Griffiths wasn’t playing, but delighted Dembele got his goals and think he’ll kick on. 9 times out of ten we are going to play 1 central striker, to have 2 that are interchangeable, that have different qualities is such a bonus that will stand us in good stead. Dembele has Drogba like attributes, and he just needs a bit of time to develop. People criticising him not celebrating on the bench or when Sinclair took a penalty of him need their heads looked at. They guy has star potential.
Gutted Roberts never played, in full flow he would rip that defence but hopefully his time will come.
Couple of niggles. Sviatchenko’s reluctance to step into space and instead play a backward pass that puts a team mate in trouble is worrying. De Vries doesn’t appear an upgrade on Gordon in any sense. Rogic is technically superb but needs to improve his fitness.

Warburton wasn’t very respectful in his post match interview. Especially when bemoaning the reason Weir was sent to the stand while saying nothing about Kranjcar actually making it to half time and Garner intent on trying to injure Bitton and get Sviatchenko sent off. The man without any magic hat was found out today. Just like his team.

Having 30 shillings on a Moussa hat trick at 28/1 and £3 on Celtic at minus 3 (7/2) then I guess tonight’s Baldie family take aways are on me!
