Reason to enjoy Wednesday night number 67

Reason to enjoy Wednesday night number 67: Victor Wanyama didn’t get booked.

21-year-old Victor is a fabulous talent but he has also been a tad rash in his earlier Champions League outings this season.  One more yellow card will bring a suspension but his timing, and more importantly, his concentration, on Wednesday was excellent. This is a player maturing; more to come.

The 1254125 charity cycle left Lurgan this morning for Belfast port where they caught a ferry to Cairnryan. After they set wheel on Scotland they have a 37 mile cycle to Maybole, 7 miles of which is uphill, one of the most difficult parts of the endeavour.

They are people with the spirit of this club pumping through their veins right now. Check out their everyclick page for more information.

    Saint S…,

Rubbish, there’s hunners of divisive subjects and we love them all

Well the supporters who believe Celtic is more than a football team :o)

My favs are the people who tell us to leave the politics at the gate then demand conformity to the politics of the poppy

  2. I reckon Celtic should outsmart them, ask the crowd to do a minutes applause, and they will get their minutes silence.

  3. I have never worn a poppy and never will. I will though have a minutes silence tommorow at 11 to respect the many people who have died in wars. Many who were no more than cannon fodder for wars of imperialism and greed.

The poppy has now been “celebritised” and is as meaningful as the Red Nose.

I absoloutely do not fear them, and I agree with you, fellow Celtic supporters don’t feel

the same and that is their right, after all that is what my father and forefathers were fighting for, the right of freedoms..

  11. So lets not give the 94 million or so plus the rest to the taxman but offer the jammed fertz 500,000 to pay their tax bill to keep alive while we are dead but fleece another 300,000 off the edinburgers and society. I am confused can anyone help? Do the oldco, newco now not want topay other clubs taxes?

    A considered and dignified approach.

We all have our own opinions and beliefs, however once we pass through the Celtic park turnstiles, we become responsible for the wonderful reputation that Celtic and their followers built up throughout the world. A reputation built on respect and inclusion.

  15. Why is there not a multi-coloured

    poppy, or are stonewall not

    wanting representation from the

    armed forces,

    Ach!!

    maybe its just us Catholics

    they want to complain

    about,

  16. Freedom! cried Wallace, or mibbees naw

    Freedom.

It’s a bit like Sandy Jardine – a lot of people talk about it, but aren’t quite sure what it means. Me neither.

The good ole U.S. of A likes to think of itself as the land of the free, from “The Star Spangled Banner”; an anthem – interestingly – written way before emancipation, and surely in need of a re-draft after the Patriot Act.

I’d guess the people that know the most about what they mean by freedom, are those that don’t have “it”.

I’d also guess Freedom should have its limits – you shouldn’t be free to harm other people, and you shouldn’t be free to abuse or incite hatred against other people.

Crucially, however, freedom should be difficult. It should challenge, affront, and insult each and every one of us. Otherwise, well… it ain’t freedom, but a bland and/or malevolent conformity.

Most of us have had to put up with “cultural” marches, where the only evident culture was yeast infections. It’s why the BNP and EDL can exist.

And it’s why people who believe that the poppy is being used for reasons other than remembrance of all victims of war, should be allowed to state that.

    Freedom should make you think
