Record correct, SFA prepare to disband Appellate Panel

1122

This morning’s article in the Daily Record is not a work of fiction.  They reported that SFA chief executive Stewart Regan’s “bid to deliver a broad consensus over the way forward also involved discussions over the appellate tribunal’s transfer embargo on Rangers.”

In short, the SFA discussed changing their rules to disband the Independent Appellate Panel process before instructing Lord Carloway to sit in response to the Court of Session’s rejection of his previous judgement.

With two further Independent Judicial Tribunals still to sit in judgement on the actions of Rangers, for the illegal registration of players and non-payment of social taxes during the EBT era, the SFA will also subvert these rules before ‘Rangers’ are expelled from the Association.

After the meeting Regan left for his summer vacation without instructing Lord Carloway to convene the Appellate Panel.

That’s not all.

The scam to establish an SLP 2 in order to allow the SFA and SPL to co-opt ‘Rangers’ into that league is what the governing bodies have planned for your game.

If rules are changed AFTER a club is found guilty and in receipt of a penalty in order to nullify that penalty the game in this country is broke, ethically and financially.  Having established independent judicial panels to deal with serious rule breaches the SFA cannot do Rangers bidding without removing all judicial oversight.

We’re back to the days of George Peat walking in and out of hearings for the Celtic manager.

Most disturbingly of all, YOU are the cash cow for this outrageous enterprise.  With Rangers gone from the SPL Celtic fans bring all the commercial and television income into the game, and are set to buy more away ground tickets than all other clubs put together.

You are expected to continue to cough up for tickets to Tynecastle, Rugby Park etc, and subscribe to ESPN and Sky Sports – money which will divvied up among SPL 1 and SPL 2 teams, as well as they rest of the Scottish Football League clubs, to compensate for them missing out on a ‘Rangers’ game.

You will also pay more money for those tickets than any other group of fans in the league.  Why don’t you just write a cheque to Kilmarnock, Falkirk or Cowdenbeath today?

This nonsense will not bring another £1 into the game, all it will do is redistribute money from your pocket to clubs who care nothing for you.  Partick Thistle yesterday released a statement on their site, “We believe Scottish football needs to be restructured, financial distribution needs to be fairer for all clubs”.

“Financial distribution needs to be fairer”!  Patrick Thistle get to keep all their ticket sales, commercial and other income.  By “fairer” they mean they want some of your money.  If you agree with them, write them a cheque, but if you disagree, you better figure out what to do next.

Thoughts that some great victory has been achieved are premature.   Prepare for the next instalment.

Our domestic competition is, at best, uninspiring.  This disgusting land-grab for your cash will destroy our ability to compete in Europe, and it’s not just the senior team who will suffer.  The Celtic youth system costs millions to operate each year, don’t fantasise that it will survive intact.

Celtic currently employ 27 Scotland youth internationals.  They are almost single-handedly carrying the future of our national team.  This attempt to bleed your club dry will devastate all areas, with subsequent consequences for the Scotland team.

It’s not often I’ve told you the Daily Record have nailed a story but this one is on the money (your money).  I’m at a loss as to what to do next.

We cannot accept this.

  12. Flagging up the McLeish Report is no more than chattering of teeth. Since it was published – how many times has League Reconstruction been put back for further discussions (in the past 12-18 months)?

The SKY deal is a non-event till such times as the new contract is negotiated (and more importantly signed). If anything – Celtic are now better placed than ever to allow concessions (TV/ SPL sponsorship) based on our future income.

We are almost guaranteed a free run at Champion’s League qualification for the next 5+ years – does anyone honestly believe that PL will not maximise that potential when negotiating single status sponsorship?

We might not get double of what would have been on offer (cause they have ceased to exist) – but I bet any marketing CEO will be happy to increase the 50/50 pot to around 60-70% of their budget. In return – they will get 5+ years CL exposure and save 30-40% of their budget by backing the only show in town!

That and as sole recipients of CL TV money – will allows us to dictate a more amicable split of TV/ SPL sponsorship. Conceding circa £2M+ back into the SPL pot will not harm us when the League Title (each year) opens the door to £15M+ by qualify for the Group Stages.

Our BT man on the Board and PL will have crunched these numbers (income) – no need to respond to those currently clutching at straws – they’re fecked and the thing is – they know it!

  17. no to newco is coming round and that is only right. sharing of gate is not coming because teams like, hearts, aberdeen, hibs and dundee united will not benefit from such a move

we should be sharing t.v/ commercial monies equally to enhance the overall product in the spl. split away gate 50/50 for clubs with 20,000 + gate. all teams in europe pass over 50% of all european price/ t.v. money after expenses, to be shared will all teams in spl.

we need to understand that the better the product the more fans attend, view on t.v the more revenue will be generated, the more money will be made for everyone

we spend millions on poor players every season, i honelsty dont think dropping even 5 million in the short term would impact on the quality of our squad we could make that saving by moving on all the squad players and bringing through more young players making use of our system and seeing more home grown players, they are out there, but they need a chance and we need to give them that

our league needs to be bigger with more play-offs against relagation and for euro spots, less games against the same teams, change points system so the leagues more enjoyable and competitive i.e. 3 points for win, 2 for score draw, 1 for no score draw and 0 for loss

we all need to work together to make sure football becomes more enjoyable for everyone or we keep going the way we are going and all die together

  18. HenryClarson on

There is clearly no way of dealing with Doncaster, Ogilvie, Regan and the rest of that shower of crooks. But at least they have clarified their status as shameless enemies of everything that is truly valuable about sporting competition.

  22. As long as Campbell Ogilvie is President of the SFA , the club known as Rangers will always have the support of the said SFA. This is a man who took EBTs, overseen the administration of EBTs and dual contracts whilst signing off the accounts.

Campbell Ogilvie was an ever present during that clubs sectarian signing policy.

He represents the cancer and corruption at the heart of that clubs demise. His refusal to resign in an honourable manner is no surprise as he does not have an ounce of moral fibre in his body.

As long as the President of the SFA is a corrupt tax dodger that overseen sectarian signing policies , anything emanating from hampden needs to be treated with the contempt it deserves.
