Rogic’s next contract

929

Tom Rogic is well within his rights to take time to consider his next contract.  He is thriving at Celtic, but with a year left on his current deal, the future is open.  Front and centre of his mind, of all players’ minds, will be the dirty little subject.  The money paid to lesser talents than Tom in England is incredible, Tom is well within his rights to ponder his position in the food chain.

Then there is his place in the Celtic squad.  Brendan Rodgers is continually looking to improve the team.  It doesn’t matter who you are, you cannot be sure of a place well into the future.

There are also reasons to consider why Celtic might be a good fit for him.  He is not the archetypal English Premier League player, all physique and running.  Tom is a throwback to not so long ago when craft on the ball got you into the team, not the ability to burst a lung for 90 minutes.  All too often, he’s a 60 minute star.

Evidence is everywhere that he is a big game player and proven match winner, but he is not going to temp a title chasing team from England, instead it would be the bottom half battlers who are most likely to be interested in him.  He’s not a natural fit.  Better to stay with the champions.

A lot of hard work to get the Double Treble…. I wullnae lie… a Treble Treble has crossed my mind.

    Tupac crew will ensure it.

We have the very best young French players at our Club.

It is interesting that the German teams are picking up the young English players.

Anyway, thoughts for all those that are struggling. You will never walk alone.

It was just a wee post to add to the posts over the last couple of weeks that remind us all that this is a talking shop and behind every post is someone with their own personal or family things going on so don’t dismiss anything or anyone because you disagree with them

    BT,

Just caught your post. My mum went through the same. Theres no getting away from the fact that these are hard times – for your Dad, your family, and you.

I can’t offer anything thats going to make this better for any of you. The only thing I can say is that, as you put on the face, to be the rock for your family, find someone you can trust to talk about how you really feel. You need help and support as much as your family.

We’re all wee mammies boys at heart, let it out.

May your God give you strength and bless you

  9. BT,

Thinking of you and your family, my mum and dad were speaking to your dad in Asda a few weeks ago. Keep strong buddy.

  13. BT,

My Dad has now only 2 relations of his generation still alive: a brother and sister-in-law. Both have dementia. So, he has little to no opportunity to talk about his younger days with anyone who shares those memories.

Still, he can wax lyrical about the Celtic and I can relate to much of the last 60 years or so.

A wee prayer said for your mother and father.

  17. Scottish cup semi

    For those interested.

The club allocations were listed as 22,000 each

The CFC rules were: on HCTS and attended all 3 cup games this season.

The lowest attendance was v Morton listed as 18,255

Morton thought they had circa 3,000 there.

That suggests that a MAXIMUM of 15,255 CFC supporters could be eligible for 22,000 tickets assuming all attended all 3 games. Not everyone who attended Morton game was on the HCTS

    That’s a gap of at least 7,000 tickets…

Whilst the SFA have questions to answer over why 8,500 tickets are not offered out so do CFC.

Is it the case that members of the HCTS may have bought all 3 games but didn’t attend?

Why out of 22,000 tickets with a maximum of 15,000 eligible did all those supporters not get a ticket?

How many corporate tickets came from the 22,000 and went to people who did not attend all 3 games?

From where I am sitting that’s at least 7,000…

What’s the point of ordinary fans attending the less glamorous games if when the big games come their ticket is given to a corporate fat cat who couldn’t be bothered with the early rounds?

When we drop to 17,000 tickets for the final (because the SFA keep another 10,000 tickets to them selves) will another 5,000 who attended all 4 games lose out again to corporate fat cats?

I got my tickets….. just, but am concerned about those who missed out…

Thank goodness Paul McStsy & Tommy Burns get us through … by the way that future Celtic legend Tommy Boyd hit the penalty with his right foot ???? 24. Guys, thinking about upcoming games and without sounding too over confident league is wrapped up although still mathematically we could not win it.

Therefor we have 1 and hopefully 2 games (the semi and if we beat Sevco the final) to win back to back trebles.

    2 games that is unbelievable.

  25. I see the legneds match at Ayebrokes was star studded with sevco supporting celebrities. Well one – Grado, whoever the feck he is.

Well I found out tonight who he is and he is about as unfunny as a chimpanzee doused in petrol playing with a lighter. Where do these muppets come from?
