Georgios Samaras journey over the last twelve months has been astonishing. The player was subject to treatment by those who enjoying booing at the football and suffered the indignity of being subject to an exchange at last year’s AGM which must have made it difficult to rebuild confidence and form.
Now he is the most effective man in the team. He was involved in six out of Celtic’s eight Champions League qualifier goals. He has found his position, wide on the left, where he scores and creates more goals than he ever did as part of a forward two. The space on the wing allows those long legs to stretch and get behind defenders.
I’m not paying too much attention to the scare stories which emerged from Latvia last night following his elbow injury, we will need to wait on the results of a scan to know the extent of the damage, but there is modest alarm ahead of our opening Champions League group game against Benfica in 11 days.

Well done Andy.
HH
Well done to Big Marlon from Emmerdale
TSOAL
LOL.
I don’t feel Samaras has made an astonishing journey..some of the Celtic support may have though….
VP
Love the big Greek Ghod but against Ross County he was flippin, fleppin’ awful.
One thing I will say is that even that day when pretty much everything went wrong for him, he never hid, unlike several others.

I was up at Celtic Park that morning 3 times ( I was the insurance man( PRU.) in that area at the time) to check if the game would go ahead.
I have never seen a more impressive performance of rampant attacking play than Yogi put on that day.
God Bless Big Yogi.
Andy Murray through to US Open Final…..100%…!

Greek mince? Moussaka?
‘Here comes the summer’ BBC4 last night
Absolutely superb.
Jobo Baldie
My deepest condolences. I’m deeply sorry to hear
about passing of your Mum.
Sammi never hides …. That is one of hIs many qualities. There have been lesser players at CP who chose to hide when the going gets tough
Never Sammi … He turns up …in a variety of guises admittedly
Jobo
So sorry to hear of your loss …
FF
When does Murray play in the final?
EMUS
I am lover of mince but not Greek.
Moussaka=Nina Mouskouri
Just gie us your wine.

Supposed to be tomorrow but depends on whether second semi can get finished tonight. If not, then it will be Monday.

I still maintain that Yogi felt hard done by, and he DID believe that big Jock never forgave him for that miss in Milan – and wanted him out the door asap.
HH!!
Mort
Thanks who’s in the other semi?
HT
Björn Borg vs Ilie Nastase
soal
Aye very good.
Even I know Nastase was a female.
In the Thick of it now on BB2.
Ivan Lendl would be a good choice for the next Scotland manager. look what he did for Mr Murray
DJBEE – thoughts with you as well mate. Sorry for your loss.
T4
Cant believe Neil let Sami go on int leave when he had an obvious injury. Sometimes players need to be protected from themselves.
TSOAL
Ivan Lendl tennis coach managing the Scottish football team.
He wouldnea touch the job wae a barge pole.
Jobo
Deepest sympathy on the passing of your mum.
My own mother was taken too young (54) and I miss her every day, even though its 14 years ago.
No matter when they go, however, there’s a particular poignancy to losing the person who gave you life.
I hope you draw strength from all the messages of support on here and can rejoice in the many years of happy memories you have enjoyed together.
Yours in Celtic.

Sorry to hear of your loss Jobo, it is very difficult to lose your mum, i know from experience. All the best.
Proms: “You’ll never walk alone” getting big licks. Wonder how that’s going down in Belfast.
Tallybhoy,
Didn’t Yogi score the goal of the season in his first game for Crystal Palace? That would be Yogi to a tee.
Great to hear Andy Murray get through to the Final. Let’s hope he wins.
Gordon
How was your holiday?
I had a great birthday in Inverness wi Smashin milk Bottles, MattE and Inside Write. Stayed overnight on Friday and the Bhoys gave me a lovely birthday present wi humuliating the big english huns hammer throwers.
Lost 45 mins of my Siesta today watchin that drivell!!!
Levein has been a disaster as manager.
He was outspoken at DU but
completely silent as Scotland manager.
Not the man to manage our national team.
But who cares.
