Scott Brown sat down

1251

You know what Dundee United really need?  Scott Brown to turn up at Hampden on Sunday with a point to prove. We’ve complained for years about the way media scrutiny falls haphazardly on Celtic but God help us if we ever acquire the cosy relationship others cultivate in order to avoid the light scrutiny required to keep them healthy.

Celtic players are allowed to drink before their day off (as is the manager).  Scott didn’t punch anyone, didn’t threaten anyone, didn’t drive under the influence, didn’t speak inappropriately and didn’t break club rules.

Had he not sat down this would never have been a story, even if he’d had an additional 10 drinks.  ‘Scott Brown sat down’ is the story – and that’s the worst they can come up with.  Paying someone £100 for a photograph and spending 30 minutes writing about it has to be the cheapest cover in publishing history.  It doesn’t pass the ‘news’ test, it is celebrity gossip.

Pin it to the dressing room wall and he’ll be Man of the Match on Sunday, you can bank on it.

CQN11 St Patrick’s Dinner is tonight!  Soooooooo excited.  See you there.

I will scroll back in the morning and forensically examine every word posted here tonight.

For your sake I hope that you did not have even a comma out of place.

  8. NCC: Pope Francis hints at brief papacy.

The article is firmly focussed on the notion that Pope Francis is thinking about retiring.

    There is another possibility…..

I read on another website and have read several books about St Malachy.

He supposedly had a vision of the line of popes through the years up until, it is suggested, Christ’s second coming.

According to the ‘experts’, our current Pope is the last pope.

It certainly puts a different twist on the BBC report doesn’t it?!

Perhaps all those stories about Armageddon were closer than you think!

As Jim White would say, “certainly plenty of food for thought there”.

  11. Fantastic night at CQN11. in no particular order; Lisa Hague, Archie, Tommy Coyne, Joe Miller, Yogi, Patricia Fearns, Tom Boyd, brilliant company, great food. £50. The money is going to people in desperate need, people who need a hand up for a better future. There was once an entire community like that in Scotland. £50 well spent, worth every penny. Well done the organisers!

  12. Don’t post much these days, great night tonight and magic to see a lot of good Celtic men/woman having a great time without the usual fuds spouting their negativity about the hoops… They know who they are and they keep a lot of good Celtic folk off the blog.

Met a lot of good Celtic people tonight and hopefully meet again.
