Script written for Scepovic

886

With John Guidetti ineligible, Anthony Stokes is manager Ronny Deila’s first choice striker for Europa League action.  Anthony arrived at Glasgow Airport this morning but was sent home ill.  He was a certain starter, so whatever plans the manager made, a rethink is in order.

Stefan Scepovic made his goal-scoring breakthrough against Astra last month, and followed up with a goal next time out against Kilmarnock, but he was benched for Partick and Inverness Thistle.  Despite being third on the roster he’s likely to be the solitary striker role tomorrow evening.

This is a big game in Stefan’s Celtic career.  A European ground with an 8500 capacity presents a different pressure, and expectation, than Celtic Park.  Can he rise to the challenge?  Wakaso stepped forward in Salzburg and Callum McGregor did the same in Reykjavik, Warsaw and Maribor.  Both benefited enormously as a result.  I could make a case that Stefan needs this game; the script’s written……

Many thanks to everyone who bought the DVDs from CQNBookstore since yesterday, that’s’ the deal finished.  Will try to pull another together at some point.

  1. Would take a point from tomorrow’s game right now.

Ref upcoming cup games : no chance of going to Tynecastle due to ticket allocation but will try and get tickets for Hampden for the semi final as I have been to all home games this season and won’t to see Celtic win silverware.

Ref boycotting semi final : I think some on here are already boycotting games regardless of the opposition.

Ref the living wage : support it in principle but my hourly rate is now lower than that, I have to work crazy shifts to earn a living. If Celtic paid living wage and I don’t get living wage I can’t support Celtic.

Oldco, newco, zombies, sevco, rangers or whatever you want to call them, were playing them again and that’s that.

Remember that this is bonfire night and ask yourself what is it that is getting “celebrated” to give you an idea of what we’re up against.

  2. Brogan

    Many thanks for that.

I remember being told that it was Celtic who wanted to keep things under wraps, this was some time ago, and I respected this.

I was then told that it was not a priority for the suits, this didn’t sit well with me.

It should be priority numero uno IMO.

I was then told that the club had furnished the sfa with the relevant paperwork, and the club were waiting for the sfa to get back to them………..going by the sfa’s past on these kind of matters, we will be waiting for some time will we not.

A blind man can see what has gone on here, and I fully understand the need for forensic scrutiny of the rules etc, but ffs, why does it take a few shareholders to take the sfa to task ?

This is where the club have let the club, the support and the shareholders down imo, they should be challenging the sfa at every turn, every decision they make that is not 100%, they should be doing everything in their powers to attain a level playing field, yet to most of us they seem to be doing nothing, and the evidence of them doing nothing is happening before our eyes every game we play, every time on of our players is up before the beaks, every time one of another teams players is up before the beaks, one rule for us, another for the rest.

I have to ask myself why this is.

This would be a good time for me to thank Winning Captains, Auldheid, BRTH, Canamar, Hamilton Tim and others for all the work they have done and continue to do to try to bring the anxieties and aspirations of Celtic supporters like myself to a successful conclusion.

    Thank you gentlemen.

There was nothing “smart arse” like intended in my comment and my unreserved apologies if it came across that way as that was not my attention at all.

I would love to take a hike bit I have the knees of an old woman and won’t make it much further than the end of the street – and it ain’t a long street.

  6. It was brought up at the meeting the other night by concerned celtic supporters, that they hoped that the prices on the semis when we play the team from the championship that the ticket prices are the same as the Aberdeen V Dundee Untd. Game , and that they don’t Jack up the prices for thems playing us, but it’s out of celtics hands, interesting EH?

  13. ***Lunchtime Quiz***

A wee trip down memory lane as a GIRUY message.

    Difficulty rating: 4/10

Name the six players who were played their part in getting Celtic to the 1967 European Cup final but never took part in the final itself.

***The rules of the game are always the same. No search engines please, you’re only cheating yourself***

  14. The Exiled Tim, Excellent post and thoroughly agree, ever since the so called shame game the club has continually been shat on from all and sundry. Does the club even have a PR dept to deal with the media? it appears not as they seem to print what they like, do the club never ever question the SFA on any matters regarding our players, referee’s, kick off times etc or do they not want to make a fuss, I wish someone, anyone at the club had big enough balls to call them out for waht they are.

  15. A Ceiler Gonof Rust on

Winning Captains, I’ll gladly contribute to your advert.

    I also like Kit’s suggestion.

One further suggestion. Why restrict this to CQN and a few hundred. Why not take it to the whole Celtic blogosphere. What about getting the word out there on KDS, The GB site, Celtic minded and every other blog that internet bampots talk about the hun, establishment and SMSM lies.

Get thousands contributing and debunk the myth while chucking in a hefty bit of Celtic historical charitable ethos at the same time.

  16. Can’t say that I am perturbed that Stokes has been sent hom ill. His record in Europe is very poor indeed, Scepovic I think will provide a much bigger threat for the opposition.

Fully expecting a difficult game tomorrow, but hopeful we will set up properly with enough pace on both wings to ensure a good service is available to the striker(s).

As long as we clamp down on the playmaker from the first leg and cut off his supply I think we can achieve the required result.

Regards Res. 12….all credit to BRTH & the others for the unseen work and huge amount of effort to bring this to a satisfactory conclusion…well done Bhoys keep it going.

  17. WC, I’m in for the ad. As Kit says it’s about time we did something positive.
