This evening we received clarity on two items first reported here and on several other locations months ago. Sevco have accepted the 12 month player registration embargo handed down by Lord Carloway’s Appellate Tribunal as a condition of their application for membership of the SFA, while Fifa have granted four former Rangers players permission to sign for new clubs.
The SFA, under president Campbell Ogilvie, took every step possible to alert Sevco that if they did not accept the transfer embargo a more severe penalty would be imposed on Rangers, whose licence they are trying to acquire. Hopes of “elimination” from the Scottish Cup as an alternative punishment were based on false logic, and were also just silly.
Sevco disputed the embargo, hoping the SFA would offer to set it aside, as it tried to set-aside so many other rules to accommodate them in recent weeks, however, the best the new company could achieve was an accommodation to allow them to stock up on players over the next five weeks in order to off-set the effects of so many players ‘walking away’.
There is a chance this decision will save Sevco a second season in the SFL Third Division but there remains many hurdles for the new club to achieve before they start and complete a football season.
No mention yet of what the SFA and SPL plan to do with the plethora of other disciplinary matters due against Rangers, or how they proposed to prevent their own independent judicial process from reaching an inconvenient verdict.

It may well be but the point is they have no money to go into the transfer market in any event. The best they can do is Bosmans based on them not having paid all outstanding debts and of course no money.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen Murphy with a physical or aerial battle against anything other than a slightly built defender. He isn’t even that good with the head, he’s not tall for a footballer and he doesn’t hold the ball up any better than Sammi or Stokes. Cannot see what anyone sees in him and we got exactly what we bought.

Several things strike me about our upcoming ties with HJK Helsinki:
1. Even in our heyday, with Henrik and Sutton, we struggled to beat this team 3-2, over 2 legs.
2. We are without big Dan, Glenda and attempted to sign Fojut. Regardless of what we think of Dan and Glenda, we are a couple of injuries short of a crisis in central defense. We badly need an accomplished stopper, and have done so for several seasons.
3. Apart from a lack of basic skills, players like Murphy and Blackman are embarrassingly slow. We have very little pace anywhere on the park and this showed up during the German tour.
4. Apart from Lenny’s identified wishes for a stopper and a striker, we also struggle in midfield, without any obvious playmaker. It would be tragic to forego the possibility of the Champion’s League group stages by standing pat, and suffering a Maribor like exit. We don’t want to offer the Great Unwashed any crumbs of comfort in the next couple of weeks.
5. Come on, Peter, you’ve played a blinder over the summer! Make it pay by giving Lenny what he wants!

That’s true but what about the principle?
The precedent should be about deterring others from shaming their club and country whilst meantime paying all their outstanding debts as matter of course if not principle.
Der hunnes needs to be taught a lesson. they still dont get it.
if that means a few years in div 3, then so be it.
this agreement is a back door pass allowing Der Hunnes to circumvent sporting integrity.

Why is there no odds for Sevco in div 3 but odds for everyone else ?
Looks as though they won’t be playing this year.
I wouldnt give much thought to Rangers/Sevco or whatever,transfer ban or no transfer ban,they have a couple of weeks to cobble together a team to play in division 3,who will sign for them ?
And dont forget TFPLG is still in charge,tactical genius,every game a cup final against guys who probably have waited all their careers to play in a game like this.

Intrusive? I think not.
Just looked at a number of 3rd division clubs websites to see their ticket prices.I would say that £13 is about average with season tickets between £180 and £200.I wonder what Sevco will charge and is there a limit to what the can ask for?

I dont whether you remember grafitti which used to say “U2 can be a Virgin Prune” it was used to kinda advertise both bands,the thing was though at that time 78/70 The Virgin Prunes were the bigger band.
U2 obviously are an excellent band,but yeah there were plenty of talented guys and girls gigging in dublin pubs and clubs who didnt get the breaks.
However it is a bit like fella who played on say the Man Utd youth team with Giggs and Beckham and Scholes etc sitting in the pub saying he was a better player than them when they were all 16/17.
