Sine die Murray for Rangers lying and cheating

953

“The appeal is dismissed.” With those words at the Supreme Court in London at 9:52 this morning, Rangers tax cheating was established as fact. The charlatans who manipulated Scottish football fans were shown to be the disgrace they are.

Rangers made unlawful payments, totalling many millions of pounds, to footballers, who, by the club’s own admission in court, they would have been unable to recruit if they had to pay tax and National Insurance contributions for.

They lied to HMRC.

They also hid documents from HMRC, which only came to light during a City of London Police raid on Ibrox.

They hid documents from the SPL and SFA, failing to honestly register dozens of players.

They cheated the tax man.

They cheated the welfare state, the NHS, the police, councils, schools. They cheated the Army and other services.

The SPL’s (now called Scottish Professional Football League) Commission into these matters must now be set aside. It was conducted on the assumption that Rangers acted legally. Lord Nimmo Smith was clear that his conclusions were predicated on this point.  A fresh commission is required, we cannot just allow the biggest cheats in British sporting history wander off into the distance.

The SFA has failed to call Sir David Murray to account, or the other directors of Rangers, who had explicit responsibility to ensure the club acted within the laws of the land and within the rules of football, both of which it failed to do.

Murray should be sine died. God knows, I cherish every moment Dave King controls things at Ibrox, but he was a director of Rangers with legal responsibility for its actions. They should all be censured.

A change is gonna come, written by Sam Cooke was one of his many attempts at helping the Civil Rights movement.

Dylan had released Blowin in the wind in 1963 and Sam wanted to put his own message out there.

Easier said than done, as he knew that if his song was overtly political then the radio stations wouldn’t play it. He came up with a change is gonna come and released it in 1964 a year after Blowin in the Wind.

Both powerful songs but cleverly enough written by both that they got airplay.

Well done to Bob and Sam.

  12. Calm doon everyone.

The big fight is now upon us and we need unity not acrimony.

SFA have played their card which was predictable. Up to the fans to call their bluff. The status quo is NOT acceptable. (especially Down, down)

I think the demands should be clear and not ambiguous by any stretch of the Hun imagination.

    Titles stripped and asterisk inserted.

SFA restructured as clearly their interpretation of the rules have made them un-enforceable in any real sense. Their statement showing an unwillingness to see natural sporting justice as understood the world over.

I don’t think that there is a willingness in the boardrooms of Scotland to force the agenda here. As always….it’s back to the fans acting in concert to show them the light.

Ps Cowiebhoy- my condolences and hope Friday goes ok. Loved your line “a green day”

It’s a funny old world, the new Huns were pumped out of Europe last night at the 1st attempt against the (now second) worst team ever to grace European football. I’ve not laughed so much side Submarine Sunday. Today the Oldco had what was left of it’s reputation well and truly trashed forever. Utter humiliation on a scale unimaginable. Yet somehow they are claiming some kind of victory thanks to the SFA while some Tims start tearing each other apart and get ready to rip up the season tickets. Come on folks, keep the head, there is a long way to go with this one. As i said earlier all energy should be directed at Celtic. Phone calls, emails, letters. Whatever it is get your message across that you want action and then let due process take place.

  15. jeez_I_thought_blinker_was_pants on

Crowd fund legal action – the only answer, we raised enough with Res 12 after all and it was mostly us. This time I think others will join us.

  16. Guys we can all make an impact here.

I have not signed up to the HCTS and after the statement from the SFA will not be taking tickets for ANY SC or LC games. I have already been boycotting Hampden for years.

I would urge EVERY supporter of EVERY club to make it clear that we will turn our backs on every SFA and SPFL event.

Does anyone have any influence on the Tartan Army?

Can you imagine the impact if no one bought tickets and attended future International games?

What about organising a blanket boycott of the last home game of our WC group? Let’s face it Scotland are not going to Russia anyway!

That would let everyone (hopefully) see the strength of feeling and shame the SFA on an international stage.

And if we Celtic fans find that we’re out on a limb regarding this then so be it.

Jimmynotpaul and Mike in Toronto, I have saw two other soul greats , Bobby Womack and the Reverend Al Green, sing a Change is gonna come when I have saw each live .

    Both do it justice .

My hope that any united front ( that might sound to lefty for some posters lol) from supporters of other clubs to go for the SFA following today’s verdict. Is not scuppered by inter club rivalries.

Its all or nothing now to get Scotland’s football administrators to follow their own rules and reguations. How I wish the late Turnbull Hutton was still here . He woud not have taken the SFA mince as would Fergus if he was still involved in Scottish foitball.

If anyone is thinking of a flutter on the Irish Open golf (unlikely for most, I accept that :-)) …..

You could do worse than a wee e/w shout on Bradley Dredge (80/1) and Matt Fitzpatrick (28/1).

Both have some decent form of late and Dredge has a tendency to do well in the Irish open.

Wouldn’t go chucking fortunes at it, but £1 ew gives an interest, seeing as there is very little else happening in the sporting world right now……!

Rory Mc is hot favourite and could well win if he can cure his recent putting crapness. I think he is worth opposing this week.

  24. I suspect that the short but succinct ruling this morning if not followed through to its natural conclusion, challenging the almost immediate SFA statement followed by insisting that the rules are applied retrospectively by the SPFL will result in mass desertions from the Celtic season ticket holders”club” next season, including myself, Mrs RobinBhoy, my brother and mate as a minimum.

We won’t be alone in refusing to support a rigged game.

    Get it sorted Celtic!
