Sine die Murray for Rangers lying and cheating

953

“The appeal is dismissed.” With those words at the Supreme Court in London at 9:52 this morning, Rangers tax cheating was established as fact. The charlatans who manipulated Scottish football fans were shown to be the disgrace they are.

Rangers made unlawful payments, totalling many millions of pounds, to footballers, who, by the club’s own admission in court, they would have been unable to recruit if they had to pay tax and National Insurance contributions for.

They lied to HMRC.

They also hid documents from HMRC, which only came to light during a City of London Police raid on Ibrox.

They hid documents from the SPL and SFA, failing to honestly register dozens of players.

They cheated the tax man.

They cheated the welfare state, the NHS, the police, councils, schools. They cheated the Army and other services.

The SPL’s (now called Scottish Professional Football League) Commission into these matters must now be set aside. It was conducted on the assumption that Rangers acted legally. Lord Nimmo Smith was clear that his conclusions were predicated on this point.  A fresh commission is required, we cannot just allow the biggest cheats in British sporting history wander off into the distance.

The SFA has failed to call Sir David Murray to account, or the other directors of Rangers, who had explicit responsibility to ensure the club acted within the laws of the land and within the rules of football, both of which it failed to do.

Murray should be sine died. God knows, I cherish every moment Dave King controls things at Ibrox, but he was a director of Rangers with legal responsibility for its actions. They should all be censured.

    Money talks.

If the SPFL, release a similar statement to the one released by the SFA today, then Scottish Footballs paying customers – the supporters of all Scottish clubs, must unite and take direct action.

A universal boycott of one day’s scheduled football, by fans of all clubs, is all it would take to bring down the current corrupt office bearers within Scottish Football’s governing bodies.

That day should be the opening of the Premier League season.

If all supporters, of all of the Premiership clubs, did not show (even if only half of the normal attendees did not show) it would send out a clear message that the games’ administrators can not take the supporters for Muppets again. A message should also be sent out that a lack of action will lead to further boycotts.

Withdrawal of funding kills these organisations. If they understand that they would have no funding, then there is nothing for them to protect, and the stinking corruption within these organisations can be hosed down and wiped clean.

The International Media spotlight, and pressure brought by the games sponsors, of such a boycott would end this farce properly, and finally.

One day. That’s all, one day.

  2. I wondered how long it would be before that excuse was trotted out. Again.

    This is perfectly simple.

Celtic will do and say nothing.

Because to do otherwise might be bad for business.

And first and foremost, Celtic is a business.

If you don’t like it, feck off.

There’s never a right time for the ‘what religion are you’ puerile nonsense but today is definitely the wrong time.

There’s REAL stuff to interest us.

    Fellow Celtic supporters,

We need to act on this, and I don’t mean threatening to withdraw support of our club.

Would anyone be interested in taking some collective action ?

My recommendation if a blog is the way forward would be to get intellectual representation from all other clubs fans forums in the development of that blog otherwise it may well just be seen as another Celtic Blog.

    If so then their stance on doing nothing is complete and utter bollocks. Illegally registered players, say from 1999, so congratulations to;

There was a lad in there, obviously a local “character “, bedecked in the new away kit. Complete with shorts, socks and New Balance jockey cap.

The only action that would have any effect is a boycott, and that’s just not going to happen.

As anyway, I said earlier, this year’s season books are already sold and by next year people will have moved on, so it’s not as if that’s even an option.

I don’t understand why anyone thought it would ever end any other way.

  14. Quite easy for Celtic PLC .

    Dear SFA.

Unfortunately Celtic the football club are so busy this season we can’t defend the Scottish cup this year.

    Ta anyway.

    PS.

Probably 2nd rangers will win it with their favourable home draws.

Off to bed safe in the knowledge that they have been exposed today as out and out cheats. The dark days of 03 and 05 among others mean nothing now, the hurt has gone and will never return. They cheated us and everyone else. As someone said earlier on Twitter, the letters EBT make us angry just now but in years to come we will grow to love them. Today was a momentous day.

I think it might take something extraordinary to change things.

Crowdsource for legal recourse, financial boycott of SFA next season, who knows.

If we let this slide, its carte-blanche for the huns, they can literally get away with anything.

I dont want to see that happen.

    Its sickening.

    Whatever it takes.

Maybe we could start by sniffing around other fans forums to read their sentiments. Get a few of the guys on here that to come up with a few statements explaining the ramifications of todays ruling & what it means for Scottish Football if the SFA/SPFL are left unchallenged on the issues.

From there they could be dropped in to other fans forum’s to see if there is any genuine interest in justice & change.

  19. Threaten the SFA with – 3rd round of the Scottish cup – all clubs fans refuse to participate.

Tell them also that in the Semi finals if Sevvies are out early on in the comp – we will do the same if the third round thing has no effect.

    There are other things too.

    Strip the titles.

  20. I must really wise up. I was awake from 6 o’clock this morning waiting for the BTC verdict. Although I thought it was nailed on and their belongings were in a vice, I still had a wee worry they would get a sneaky one.

So, today is the start of the fight. Just the beginning, mind you. There are petitions to sign, contacts to be made etc etc etc.

We need a crowd funded lawyer. Get he ofr she from England, Ireland or wherever. Scottish advocates are too easy got at.

If a crowd funding is to be started, put me down for first dibs.

As for the blog today—Celtic are in a good place-let them deal with it and we can crowd-fund our own efforts.

Also remember that a Celtic/Republican supporter cannot, because of the inherent values that the stance brings, be a bigot in any shape or form. Remember that.

Art of War, it would be interesting to find out how they paid Hateful, Gary Stevens, Trevor Steven , Ray Wilkins , Trevor Francis and other ‘glamorous ‘ signings made by the original club.

I have a list of all the signings made between 1988 to around 2001 on an e mail I have kept in my e mails . It lists names and declared transfer fees along with how much profit , no sniggering please and loss they made each season in the above period.

When I am back at work, I will send it on to you .
