    Wednesday’s result wasn’t down to St Mirren it was mostly down to our ineffective forward play.

     

     

    The lad Dawson did well today

    On the raw figures not a bad return from a congestive December, but St Mirren was pi** poor and makes all the difference.

     

     

    Four single-goal wins, a 3-0 & 3-1….and the Paisley horror 0-0. Mostly dogged displays, but allowances made for the injury/Covid carnage. Surely our luck cannot be as bad after the break. Ibrox, unlike most clubs in the UK, have been largely untouched by the Covid blight….wonder why?

    Barkas didn’t have much to do but did well. He didn’t have a chance for the goal. Starfelt was not as bad as some people make out – he had some purple patches but so did a number especially JJ and NB. Abada had his best game for a while and it seems he can play through the middle but he is not as natural a finisher as Kyogo. Still, he is young. Big Bitton skied many a chance, made some poor attempts at dribbling but finally scored the third and is was a beauty. He saw the chance and hit so quickly and accurately that it was in the net before anyone saw there was a space at that right hand post. Well done Nir. Scales looked good and so did McCarthy but both need more game time. TR man of the match for sure. A pity Liel Abada didn’t get his hat trick and young Joey Dawson didn’t get his first. Pleasantly surprised after the mid week game. Looking forward to some new signings and a fitter squad. It’s all to play for in the next half of the season.

    MASSIVE, MASSIVE 3 POINTS TODAY! That was all that matters today. Don’t need to dissect the game as the points were the main prize. Onto regrouping now and getting the quality in that Ange so richly deserves. Here we come!! por cierto

    Well done to the Celts Today.

     

    Only a couple of sloppy moments today, including Carl Starfelts poor pass giving possession away for their goal. I also got the Correct score of 3-1 @ 10/1 with my Bookie.

     

    Maybe, I now owe Carl a Drink ?

    Why are we obsessed with commentators. Who give a monkeys f@ck what they say. We sing it often enough, so let’s observe ” We don’t care what the animals say ” ( don’t like, win, lose or draw )

     

     

    Concentrate on us bhoys.

     

     

    In summary a great result and the introduction of Joey Dawson is a bonus.

     

     

    In tune with Ange’s journey.

    great 3 pts following the last game debacle, terrible pitch but Starfelt’s woeful attempt at a forward pass was nearly as bad as Barkas attempt at trying to save their goal , how he can think he will save the header with his hands below his shoulders beggars believe.

    Ange showed a wee bit of anger there when asked if the break had come at the right time.

     

    Forcibly said the only reason the break came in early was because of the lack of fans, nothing else. Doesn’t understand why people are confusing the reason.

     

    Says he did not enjoy today due to lack of atmosphere. Doesn’t care if it is all away fans in a ground, it’s not football without the fans.

    Yes I believe we will see a lot more of Joey Dawson. I goggled him when he came on. Comes from a great football family and wants to be here.

     

     

    He will definitely be on the bus.

    PS : Joey Dawson, Liel Abada et al are young men away from home in very difficult circumstances. They deserve our support.

    I would be happy to see young Dawson on the bench in any game . I thought he had fluffed his one real goal chance but in reply you could see their keeper got a vital touch on it (he actually saved them quite a few times).

     

     

    Great performances from CCV , TR , LA , NB and J Mc , and merely very good ones from the rest .

     

    Oh , and great interview from Ange after the game.

    Yes Ange’s post match was excellent. Interviewer fishing for us wanting to bring in the winter break because of injuries. He replies it’s all about playing behind closed doors, did you enjoy it, he asks👍👏👏
