Hello again all you young rebels
From a very quiet and relaxed Melbourne suburbs.
Another hectic couple of festive days with the family it’s now time to sit
back and enjoy some of my pressies, started with a lovely bottle of
port, and three great books.
One called ..DISLOYAL.. Trumps former personal attorney Michael Cohen
who flipped on him.
Another called ..PERIL.. By Bob Woodward the Watergate author.
But couldn’t wait to start my first choice and now half way through it
..THIS IS HOW IT FEELS TO BE CELTIC..
Didn’t know about this book although it’s been out for quite a while.
Any of you bhoys/ghirls want to know what our club means to people
like Lisbon Lion John Clark who has spent almost his whole life at the club.
Jenna Burns the late great Tommy’s daughter.
or just an ordinary supporter like Fakhir Al Namea who began
supporting Celtic as a youngster in Baghdad.
A funny and fascinating collection of stories.
Another three points for the bhoys yesterday, that will do me from a
decimated team, no team has ever won a league at Christmas KTF.

The ZENIT Centre Forward who was SUSPENDED for the Final v the Huns was ” PAVEL POGREBNYAK”, who stupidly got himself Two Yellow cards in the Semi Final.
I can remember watching him getting the 2nd yellow Card in the Semi Final for something that was idiotic .
I cant remember exactly but he MAY have got the 2nd Yellow in the Semi Final for stupidly kicking the ball away when the Tie was won and Zenit were safely in the Final.
Zenit didnae miss him….as they GUBBED the Huns 2-0 obviously without him.
POGREBNYAK was the TOP SCORER in that seasons UEFA Cup competition, and I can still remember thinking that HE had just given the Huns a major boost for the upcoming Final…and I thought that yet again the Huns had got MORE Luck going their way.
Hun fans didnt like being reminded that Zenits team was weaker without Mr POGREBNYAK for that Final.

I hope that you both had a FAB Christmas.
Ive NOT had any drink/Beer since Christmas Eve and I dont drink in the Hoose. I have been busy watching the Celtic yesterday and a lot of Horse Racing on Boxing Day. theres another 8 Races on TV Today…so I will stay at home til after its finished and then decide whether to go out to the Pub or not ?
I havent spoken to anyone since Christmas Eve….and even that auld Git Santa….gave me a body swerve two days ago…NO More Milk and biscuits for him next Christmas.

Very sad news, Gene, Hopefully he will make a good recovery, will say a prayer for him, If it’s any consolation to you 3 Seniors in our local Golf Club had strokes in past 3 or 4 years, Two of them were severe.
All 3 recovered, 2 of them are back playing Golf , the 3rd lad, I meet at Mass occasionally and he looks fine & chats away & seems as happy as the day is long.

Agree with you on the point about us being penalised for taking a throw from the wrong place. Ref seemed to indicate he had told the thrower (Scales?) twice about moving too far.
Normally the ref would toot his whistle a few times and tell the thrower to go back. Not for us. Throw in to the opposition.
Ok. So why was the same principle not applied to them? Obvious one was when Dawson blocked a clearance and it went out for a throw in as near as dammit to the corner flag. The Saints player then sidled up the line, passing the marker that indicates 10 yards from the corner and then quite a few steps further up the line.
Completely different refereeing applied to the two teams.
