  1. Don’t be worrying yourselves too much guys.

Celtic team are currently out of Europe. So you can celebrate your prophecy coming true.

    They are in Isreal.

It might be a bit difficult to throw us out of the competition.

22/9 is a week after the first group game, and any appeal would take us beyond the second and possibly third stage.

CAS might also find against any justification for the charge in the first place,so I doubt UEFA would try to push it too far.

    Thanks so much , mate.

    Lots of logic in that.

  4. After Tuesday’s match, when we will know which European competition we will be in – Celtic will reveal their response to the the wilful behaviour of the GB last Wednesday.

Can anyone really believe that with a sanction now hanging over its head, Celtic will not move to ensure that it doesn’t happen again during the next three home European matches?

The severity of any sanction could be increased or mitigated depending on the club’s official response to last Wednesday’s demonstration.

As the demonstration was almost totally confined to the GB safe-standing area, it is likely that the club will have no alternative but to shut it down on European nights, to placate UEFA – not to do this will be seen as Celtic being complicit with the perpretators – this will never happen.

Be in no doubt, after eleven previous offences, this is a crucial moment in our relationship with UEFA – to believe otherwise is ostrich-like.

I think that this is a serious problem for our Celtic.

Do you have the slightest confidence that there will be no recurrence ?

Just before I rush off. I see that there is mention in some of the papers- not that I read any of them- about a spat between Chris Sutton and Craig Thomson. Thomson brought the players out after half-time early when BT were still on commercial break. He can’t even abide by the rules on interval times. HH

  14. Looks like the SFA are go after BT making remarks about Craig Thomson?

It’s prob. Sutton they are after, for not toeing the party line, and calling a spade a shovel

  16. My friends in Celtic,

Reading back : If I had sampled CQN for the first time , I would assume that Celtic are “a bit part player”to the real political agenda.

Celtic are a football club, who are a big part of our lives. They are not a vehicle for any section of our support to use as they see fit.

No matter the cause, justified or not I hate seeng fans divided when we should be really invigorated by the progress the club / team is making in such a short period of time.

Aw well time to clear the head before it starts raining again. Walkies Cupcake.

    HH.

  17. Ex brother Charlie Ritchmond backing up brother Thomson on his decisions on Sat. In a nutshell, he thinks brother Thomson booked James Forrest because the police told him to, but then again he’s not sure what the police told brother Thomson before the game, seriously?

We’ve scored what 11 goals in three SPFL games? Let’s just half that for the sake of this post and make it say 6 for away games, so this team are going to score a lot of goals away from home let’s say for arguements sake 40 + goals, that’s a lot of yellow cards, somethings afoot here.

  18. Surely it is encumbent on the Ref to tell players that the Police have instructed him to caution players if they go towards their own fans after scoring –

  19. GREENPINATA on 22ND AUGUST 2016 7:26 AM

What is Celtic ? who are Celtic ? Certainly different answers to those questions from the support and CQN will reflect that

I would never post on behalf of Celtic or there supporters, indeed no one can

Celtic is just not defined by a PLC, they the PLC promote its more than just a club ethos

What does more than a club mean ?

  20. The Police have no rights or jurisdiction as far as refereeing is concerned, referees should be respectfully ignoring police interference, it doesn’t happen anywhere else in the world, why here

It really is time Celtic FC approached the Scottish government to explain why Police Scotland intervene in Celtic matches to the detriment of the club is there a hidden agenda ?

    http://videocelts.com/2011/11/blogs/former-referee-reported-celtic-fans-to-uefa/

Celtic should also officially ask FIFA to intervene, the games laws are governed by FIFA and the SFA referees are to apply the laws of the game by FIFA directives not Police scotland

What does more than a club mean ?

The post wasn’t addressed to you, however

I dont agree with what your opinion of more than a club means

And BTW it isnt your club, nor do you speak on behalf of all of the support

  22. LIONROARS67 on 22ND AUGUST 2016 7:54 AM,

I think if you read our “mission statement ” it defines quite well what we espouse with the statement ” More that a club ”

I also think TD67 answers the question perfectly:

What does more than a club mean?

If you don’t know, you’ll never get it.

    Hail, Hail to you.

  23. So, if we get into the CL and meet some teams with sharks in them that’ll eat us alive if we continue to ship goals, teams that we’ll have heard of before we were drawn against them as hisny been the case so far, I’m guessing that we’ll have to reign-in the gung-ho style a wee bit ? But, having said that, what a ride it would be if Brendan stayed the present course. Too much for some ? Maybe. I still think that we need a captain with Celtic-decorum. Calling the Hearts player a cheat then, going mute when LG gets correctly booked for falling in the box like a hun ? Not good enough. Canny wait to see Broony standing in the tunnel before ko with his put-on hard man stare as if he’s about to go a few rounds of, cage fighting with Ip Man. What’s going on son ?

Anyway, Cellic should get through, but……

Also, if ?……the Green Brigade were removed from Celtic Park, you would be as well playing behind closed doors. Celtic Park, after the opening YNWA is dire except for, the GB. I don’t get the GB at times, other times they blow me away.

    Put it this way…….

If the Celtic Football Club was run by a, co-operative of some kind with, the GB and the Celtic Trust as the central driving force behind the club, would we even be talking about the huns in ‘any’ league just now ? Would Dallas have been able to be ‘smuggled’ out of the SFA and, onto UEFA after what he had done, not only in his distribution of tasteless e-mails but, also for his impromptu influence on the outcome of the shame-game and, after being caught lying on national radio about, the mibbery-cheating of Neil Lennon’s Celtic team at Tannadice ?

Would the GB and Celtic Trust have, looked the other way when all this was going on ?

Would the GB and Celtic Trust have looked the other way when the huns were allowed into Div 3 without being put under any investigation for they’re swindling ?

Would the GB and Celtic Trust have looked the other way after, the findings of the LNS white-wash ?

Would Celtic Football Club, in one way or another, possibly be playing in England right now if, the above situations were ‘properly’ challenged ?

Will this club ever know peace.

    100% correct in your post.

Of course the SNP’s centralisation of Scotland’s traditional regional police forces has had many detrimemtal effects – not least the death of a couple left to suffer by the side of a main road.

Now we see a policy of direct interference with football in this country.

The GB display at the EUFA match demonstrated just exactly why we are more than a club IMO, and is in line with my interpretation of the clubs mission statement, i support the Palestinians who live within our communities and their just demand for a homeland with equal rights to Israel

Celtic Football Club is legendary and as with most legends as much myth as fact surrounds its history and what the Club stands for today. The Social Mission Statement aims to simply define what the Club stands for and seeks to promote within society.

Celtic Football Club is for people who want to support a football club that strives for excellence in Scotland and in Europe, is proud of its history, supportive of its local community and seeks to support the following aims: “To maximise all opportunities to disassociate the Club from sectarianism and bigotry of any kind. To promote Celtic as a Club for all people, regardless of gender, age, religion, race or ability.”
