Strict Liability, for you, but not for me

454

The Scottish Government yesterday suggested the SFA act unilaterally to introduce Strict Liability on the game, making clubs liable for the actions of their lunatic fringe, or else the government would impose measures. This is a curious stance for a government who are not prepared to accept ANY liability for their own lunatic fringe.

When the lunatics in charge only see other people’s lunatics, we’re all in trouble. And it should be noted, lunatics inhibiting a democracy cause vastly more damage than football fans fighting on a field once every 36 years.

The notion of Strict Liability in itself is a separate question, but I have serious concerns at the increasingly right wing, and selective, attitude to law and control at Holyrood.

If you want to impose Strict Liability on football, accept if for yourself first. Then come back after a year’s experience and talk to us about football.  This, of course, will never happen.  Not all lunatic fringes are equal.

  1. Zlatan,dont think so.Then again,its Zlatan,so who knows ?.

Good God,wou;dnt it be great though?.Nice dream.

The BHS cokkapse bears a few similarities to the death of the Huns.Sold for one pound, bought by a supposed “Off the radar”wealthy guy,who turned out to be a charlatan, and the previous owners took every available penny out of it,leaving it in ruins.

    Collapse that should be.

  2. SFTB

Stop getting so hot under the collar.Nobody really thinks that Zlatan will don the Hoops.

    Then again !!!!!!!.

  3. Turkeybhoy

    Still perfectly cool

I assume no-one was serious either in saying we should have bid for Rooney, Owen and Fletcher (Darren) or that this is not part of a pattern?

More chance of Zlatan buying Celtic than him agreeing to pay for our wages. He is more of a Malmo fan than a Celtic fan and he ain’t retiring to there yet.

Regardless of the chances of him signing for us,I have to say,Zlatan,is a fantastic name for a big striker.

    Quandary!

Aye, quandary, I am in a quandary… Just me, naw, didnae think so… The game is fucked, for sure.

Not a recent eye opener but way back to when the murderous hun monkey cheats over reached their already unsporting advantage.

The quandary (for me) is continue to play along with the sham/scam ‘game’ or bow out altogether…

    That is the quandary…

  9. Question

Should Peter Lawell resign from SFA board IF Regan is not brought to book?

In a fair world of course, Regan would fall on his sword.

    SFA? Fair?

Aye ok, I’m being ridiculous now ………….

T n T, Hail Hail fella, hope yer well amigo.

    Imho…..PL wulny resign!

And, who’ll bring Regan to book ?

Ye see, Regan, Lawwell etc, will brass it oot.

The only force’s who would have brought the

above named to book were, Turnbull Hutton

and, Celtic season ticket holders suspending they’re

    purchases.

TH has sadly passed on and, Celtic supporters have let they’re

guard down with the arrival of new manager / squirrel

    Brendan Rodgers.

Celtic’s hierarchy will now slink away into the background and let the

Internet-Bampots eat each other as, apathy will now dominate….imho.

Rebellions died when, Fergus constructed a PLC set-up to keep Celtic

supporters out of the management / direction of the club that the

supporters queued all night to contribute the finance to build the stadium

    whilst, rich / tycoon / fat-cat / establishment-compliant-types increase the

    dis-connect at the club.

    Brendan Rodgers recruited!

    The cheats back ‘unpunished’….!

Season tickets still not sold out, even after an extended renewal deadline!

Oh for the days when the p#sh flowed in the Jungle.

    …….bye…….

  11. Morning Kev. I’m good thanks and I’m assuming you are too bud. You sound like the normal Kev we know and love anyhow!

No, I agree Peter won’t resign. Mind you, maybe it’s better we keep a man on the inside?

Turnbull Hutton. Yep. Principled gent. Sadly missed.

I honestly don’t see Brendan as a “squirrel”, but more the beginning of the return to the Celtic way of football we knew and loved. Of course I could be wrong but only time will answer that aspect.

I think the banners displayed by the GB ( empty hearts) may have resonated with DD. If so, the GB have done us a mighty good turn.

I truly did swither about renewing , for the very reasons you advocate, but, no offence to your good self Kev, I listened to something I couldn’t ignore. My heart. As it has done throughout my life, it may be well be ruling my head again, but I’ll take the chance and back Brendan’s appointment with my cash. I felt it was the right thing to do. As I say, time will tell.

In an ideal world, Celtic won’t miss the target re the impending res 12 statement, Brendan will get us playing the Celtic way , and we will see football success.

If we get the first two right I can live without the football success in terms of trophies, though I feel if we get the first two right, the third, the trophies will be a natural consequence .

Peter L will go in time, as will Brendan, and will go and give their time and passion to other football clubs.

You and I? Well it’ll always be Celtic, and only Celtic. That makes us more important than any employee.

We need to embrace every second we have each other. One day Kev, we won’t have the opportunity.

Let’s stay on the inside fighting bud! The alternative is a miserable thought.

( I know you’ll disagree entirely, but I also know you are as passionate as me re the hoops. We just see the best way forward differently)

Hail hail and good health Kev.

  12. Kev

In fact, if you ever want to go along to a game, and show your support to the bhoys on the pitch, whilst giving both barrels to the mhen off it, I’d be more than spot to take you as my guest.

Think on. Will cost you Hee haw to get in there screaming ‘ cmon you bhoys in green’, Lawell Lawell gtf” and I’ll throw in a pie, bovril and see if I can get my hands on a packet of wriggleys speeeeramint chooooing gum as well. I’ll even turn a blind eye if you decide to have a pee down the terrace for auld times sake:-)

Honestly, open invitation. Anytime ya fancy a game, just gimme a wee bit notice and I’ll set my schedule accordingly.

    Hail hail

  13. Taurangabhoy on

THEBARCAMOLE mate Celtic have never played on a level playing field. Hasn’t stopped generations supporting the hoops. The resolution 12 bhoys are a credit to that history, and have created history. If nothing changes in the game should you throw in the towel or keep on enjoying being a Celtic supporter. I have seen both arguements on here but you know what , life is short, do what you enjoy most. For some that is going to the games or watching Celtic play. For others it is calling for boycotts. Do what lights your fire, to hell with the rest. I just wish I could see Celtic more, I can’t , so I drop in here. Bron the hoops. Looking forward to 6IAR

Big difference being, for most of that 100 years we had no proof and were labeled paranoid.

Now we have proof, I can saftly say had this proof been available to the Celtic support in the 50’s/60’s do you think they would have been as easy to placate ?
