Teenage Matthews excels on Celtic right

1021

The most interesting point to make about Adam Matthews is that, for another month anyway, he is still a teenager.  You and I have seen enough of these games to know that the occasion has a habit of consuming inexperienced youth but Adam patrolled Celtic’s right with remarkable authority last night.  All the more remarkable considering this was his first game back after injury.

Football business for 2011 is finished and new signing, Swedish international right back, Mikael Lustig (25), is now available for selection.  At 6’3” Mikael has previously played in central defence but Neil Lennon insisted the player was primarily recruited as a right back but, despite the rate Celtic right backs pick up injuries, the need appears greater in central defence.  It’s hard to see Adam Matthews losing the right back berth.

Patrick27 – thanks for that about Kayal – good news.

That is good news, it didn’t seem to bad (the injury), but it could have been worse. Elbows is a thug and has a yellow streak longer than the the Clyde! Didn’t see anyone taking on Big Vic last night

Only thing keeping me going is that any minute now some gem of a Celtic man is going to post the Chico Maldini – Broadfoot confrontation.

So Bartley thinks the pressure is NOW on us .

His team have have seen a 17pt swing in just 7 weeks and if you look at some of the games they won it could have been more .

Are ragers now just going to put together a winning streak ,does he know something we don’t know or has someone assured him of something .

Our winning streak will come to an end but if we keep it going for a while longer then how will ragers cope with having to keep up and will they now be playing catch up most weeks with later kick offs than us

    hail hail

Passing through Bridgeton earlier and stopped for ciggies (aye ah know)

anyways standing in the queue waiting patiently for a caveman to bag his purchases, guy behind the counter says with a hint of a smile ” no papers today eric?” one red neck red faced eric replies ” yil no sell minny effin papers the day iqbal!”

“right serve this guy tae ah get ma money fixed” says the bold eric, carefully applying his clearasil

“yes mate” says iqbal still trying to contain his laughter.

    Now I know I shouldnt have.. I know… I know ….I know

    but….

    ” twenty club iqbal and can I have…… a record……., a sun……., a herald……., a star…….., and err ill take a mirror as well”

iqbal, my new found friend bursts into hysterics,

wee erics head turns around like the wee lassie in the exorcist and his spots just about burst with the venom…

Agree, but In saying that I cant see any glaring need we have and we are well covered in a lot or areas.

As Paul67 said we now have Lustig who can play right back, thats us got

Right back: Mathews, Lustig, M.Wilson, The Cha, Me.

    Left back, Izaguirre, Mulgrew, Ledley

Centre halves: Muldini, K.Wilson, Majstorovic, Loovens, Wanyama, Rogne, and probably a few others in our pile of spare average centre halves.

Central midfield: Wanyama, Kayal, Ki, Ledley, Brown.

Wide players: Forrest, McCourt, Samaras, Ledley, Commons, McGeough, Brown

    Forwards: Stokes, Hooper, Samaras, Bangura.

Plenty of coverage but too many of a similar standard, Id love a proven quality center half but Id say we have a few who have a very strong claim to play beside him, Id guess it would be K.Wilson, thats not good for Chico Muldini who deserves his place there.

Id love creativity from central midfield but Ive realised thats just a crazy dream Ive had.

A right good proven striker would be good but another two players of similar standing would have to fight for a place beside that man while they have great claims for a starting place.

This is Peter Lawwell, EN has been kidknapped send Stella if you want him released/held, just send it.

He will end up at Millwall or Burnley plying his trade

  15. I have been reliably informed that the ‘old firm’ is well and truly over.

rangers fans completely destroyed ceiling in a toilet last night. It was always the understanding the away club would pay for any damages caused by their supporters.

Celtic have been given the ‘Whyte treatment’ and told no way rangers picking up the tab.

This story will run for a while, as long as you don’t tune into STV…

Craig Whyte – Where is the cash…..

that was to be frontloaded etc, etc? Was his whole deal done on tick with the hope of lucrative Euro money pouring in?

Seems to be that the guy doesn’t have a pot to piss in and what we were promised and what we have are two totally different things.

McCoist didnt land 1 first choice transfer target and it’s showing with the likes of Bedoya, McKay, Ortiz contributing nothing.

Ally has to shoulder some blame as well for the shocking recent performances and nail down his 1st eleven, preferably without McCulloch but its clear as day we need quality recruits added to squad.

Is Whyte just another chancer ala Murray?

Mr Whyte doesn’t have a pot to piss in, he is using the income generated from the club to run the club. I am a businessman and could do the same.

The guy is a crook. How can people not see this.

Making up shite excuses for him. How many times has he dragged our name through the mud by ending up in court over failure to pay his way and some still believe he is going to give ally 15m.
