The unhelpful winter break

371

Nine days without a game is technically not a winter break but it is double the normal interval Celtic players have between games.  Ironically, it arrives when they found a formation that resolved the performance problems that plagued the club until December.

I would have preferred a midweek game than a break, with three games to make up we have applied pressure to our spring programme, although I’m sure Celtic did not anticipate the turnaround in form when these matters were settled.

    If you search for:

    BDO Creditors Reports RFC

that should take you BDO Case Update site with Creditors Reports back to 2013

The one you want is the most recent 10 December 2020

Let me know how you get on with that

  2. A poster on that web site almost immediately contacted JPT with his own personal concerns and actually copied from my post and attributed it to me.

I was delighted someone had actually acted but this bit, which is why I am posting part of his reply had me laughing and I hope it has the same effect on whoever reads this:

” The cut and paste I put on here outlines it better than I could, it is written by Auldheid a chap who is a thorn in the Celtic Boards arse.”

  3. Bada 6:26 re moreon attacking Celtic players, allegedly the sharp suited mhan approached the SFA about this with a file including photies and requested an investigation, he was told tae eff off.

As noted the other day, a generation of Celtic supporters used to nothing but success is about to see Scoddland’s true colours.

I was out cycling through the Hun shit holes of West Lothian on Friday, then again on Sunday. What a difference a day makes – flegs, scarves, bonfires and fresh sectarian graffiti had suddenly appeared.

We are on the ropes (much of it our own making) and the kicks and punches will keep coming until we’re back on top.

Thanks just what I was looking for. When you ask for feedback, is it audio as I shove the report where the sun don’t shine?

My experience with guy is he seizes on words, applies an interpretation based on them and not the intent of them, why they exist in the first place and you end up, if not careful, playing semantic tennis.

Even when he loses a point he becomes Trumpian.

I find the Margaret Ferrier arrest more than curious. Her behaviour was monumentally stupid but does a 60 year old really deserve a show trial and possible jail time?

It has taken an inordinate length of time for her case to reach this juncture. This smacks of political interference at a fairly high level. The most recent known advocate of police manipulation in Scottish politics was the FM’s husband. Did he again seek to influence the justice system in this instance?

And, by the way, what about Cummings and then again what about the heir-apparent? No charges, no arrests, no court appearances. Justice is blind.

  7. If the players come back from Dubai and put together a run like last season and blow all opponents away by 3,4, or 5 goals, I wonder if the winter camp will be viewed in a different light. 😂

This para in total suggests to me HMRC are still owed money but not sure what “admitted” and “held” means.

Any experts on liquidation terminolgy around?

    4. EBT/HMRC

We provided a detailed update in respect of the HMRC claim in our previous report to creditors.

The current position in respect of the elements of the HMRC claim is as follows:

    EBT claim – held 48,881

Small tax claim – admitted 3,079

Small tax claim – held 1,000

Craig Whyte era – admitted 10,273

Inheritance Tax claim – held 1,281

    64,514

We are pleased to advise, we have held a number of positive discussions with HMRC in the last few

months. Both parties have agreed the next steps in seeking to resolve the remaining elements of the

    claim.

  9. Every Season Ticket Renewal ,comes with a Quadruple Treble Commemorative medal, each one numbered, and in it’s own custom made box.

The commercial department, may steal my idea, but the Club will be working overtime, on how to refund and renew season tickets.

I posted on here a week or so ago to state my support for taking the board to task over Res 11/12 etc. and confirmed that I had taken the painful decision to not renew my ST next season irrespective of how the league campaign went. I also said that I was willing to support any such action financially with the money saved from not buying a ST. I did not have your email address so I forwarded my offer/post to BRTH whose email I do have but I haven’t heard back from him. Can I ask if you received my email from Jim and if not can you please direct me to where I can engage and contribute further to supporting your action to pursue justice and change in a meaningful way?

    Cheers and HH, Sid

  11. Back to Basics - Glass Half Full on

If I may, two clarifications to my earlier comment re curtailing the season.

    1. Currently the SPFL Board do NOT have authority to end the season early. After last season’s precedent they asked clubs for this permission and were refused.

    2. If season is called tomorrow Sevco win based on PPG.

    Purely hypothetically ….

If Sevco, have insufficient funding to get through to May (typical season’s end) but have just enough to get to February or March – it is in their interest to have the league called.

    Not hypothetically ….

If Sevco went into Admin day after tomorrow and incurred a 15 point penalty ?

    Celtic are ahead on PPG.

    Back to hypothetically ….

If Sevco ARE running on fumes (their finances are totally opaque) their best case scenario is win a shortened league quickly and then take a 15 point hit next year.

Doesn’t that then impact next season’s campaign?

    Absolutely.

    But they won’t care.

“55” / stop then 10 / crack at Champions League to avoid insolvency ….

    …. all they care about.

    Hail hail

  12. Why on Earth is John Swinney criticising Celtic for going to Dubai when it was his government who sanctioned it?

That doesn’t mean I agree with our decision to go which I think was completely wrong!

  14. Brendan Rodgers pat his shants from Slippy.

He left us with no manager for 2 season-defining games in the capital without a manager.

He advised Dembele, Brown, Tierney and McGinn to go elsewhere at various times.

Still glad he was our manager.

I believe NL was the safest choice to win titles 8 and 9.

The decision to keep unhappy players has been a fekin disaster.

Pep or Rafa wouldn’t have got a tune out of the wantaways this season.

All opinions my own and won’t be changed.

Lastly, James Forest- if we want to read your anti-Celtic diatribe we’ll go to your own site…. James, do you still think Morelos will leave for £12m or do you think you were listening to huns too much and he really is a £1m player as I’ve been saying for 3 years (along with every club in Europe).

Don’t be embarassed, we’re not all good at judging players.

Looking back to the December 2019 Report to the creditors, same section, it shows the amount relating to HMRC as:

£67,593m and if you deduct the Small Tax claim of

£ 3,079m it does give the December 2020 figure of

    £64, 514 m re HMRC

But it is not clear if the £3,079 m claim has been paid, or admitted and allowed for

With Operation Stop the 10 almost complete, I think there’ll be people willing to keep them afloat for now, punt Morelos and Barasic in the summer and hope that with their recent European form, they’ll negotiate the simpler path to the Champions League – which Phil today described as “game-changing money”

  17. scoddland’s happy enough for the Tims to get a kicking, literally and figuratively……………..

What gets me is that Margaret Ferrier MP has not been charged with breaking any Covid 19 rules and regulations, indeed the Met stated that the relevant regs, in England at least, were not in place at that point, (though they were a day or so later) and yet Police Scotland delves into Common Law to find an offence with which to charge her. Something not right about that, and I did mention Sturgeon’s attempt to force her to resign, ignoring that she is an elected MP to Westminster.

  24. Whether it was agreed or not it was still utter stupidity to be flying off to sunny climate when the full country has been practically jailed, cant visit a dying relative, cant attend a relatives funeral.

Just because you can do something doesn’t mean it’s the right thing to do.

  25. There are definitely Yes Supporters in the Hun support.

There is also a large rump that would never consider anything other than Tory/Brexit type parties.

I have no data on it but I would guess that there are as many SNP supporting Sevcoites as there are Labour Party supporting sevcoites.

The idea that the SNP is backed exclusively by WoS Jacobites who see it as Scotland’s answer to the Easter Rising, is just frcical

There is a floating constituency at Ibrox, just as there is elsewhere which is up for play with all political parties

    HT

PCS suggested that SNP were trying to “widen their appeal”, which I take to mean courting Hun/PUL votes, by piling on Celtic.

Which to be fair, many on here have done today regarding the Dubai trip.

I would say that he’s perfectly entitled to offer that opinion. However, in my experience, the Huns are predominantly rabidly anti-SNP.

I think that too many Celtic people are still wounded by the 1923 General Assembly and Billy Wolfe Bellahouston Park Tree-Protection Society memories of the SNP.

  27. The well publicised approval of our trip to Dubai and the resultant change in timing of our Hibs match seems to have escaped the attention of a lot of our support who are stating they only heard of the Dubai trip recently.

The SNP government seems to have a similar problem with attention to detail and cannot recall giving permission for all of this.

Maybe Covid is having a side effect on memory that has not yet been discovered.

  28. HT – I hope it was a good walk mate?

Perhaps if the cause was, shall we say… more straightforward…………more clear-cut. easier to grasp – Just even, the recent examples of sectarian abuse outside The Edwardian Toilet Block………..then perhaps a more productive Club and intra-Tim group relationship might be fostered that resonates throughout the broad church of Timdom but crucially results in a common motivating purpose?

After that – who knows what might be achieved or what more pressing, fundamental issues might be tackled?

    HH

    Take care,

  29. Fraser Forster clean sheet against Liverpool.

I watched last 10 mins and the yellow wall just inspires confidence. Mane and co trying too hard to beat him.

When you consider the millions wasted on Barkas and Duffy when Forster was open to a deal. The penny pinching CEO put paid to that one —- there is only one person the financial ceiling doesn’t apply to and it’s him. Hammond sang the wafer thin Greeks praises and the puppet agreed.

Forster showed his worth last year and tampering with that was criminal. The basis of any team as newco have shown is a solid defence. We still don’t have one and have regressed especially in this area. It’s interesting if you watch Barkas attempted dive at the OG he lands in the same spot he started from —- Houdini like.
